Ive been vomiting almost daily, sometimes multiple times per day since surg sept 1. Im surprised I haven't hit my 130lb loss in just 30 days since almost nothing stays in! The doc said I'm creating too much stomach acid and that i need to take antacid 2x per day.
Its a terrible feeling and now since my stomach is so small the time frame from realization of how I'm feeling to the actual event is also much smaller.. .......
Im hoping it will calm down...Im thinking of going back to shakes and fluids only...maybe this will reset me?
What do you think....

Couple of questions for those who have already had surgery:
1) How long until you returned to work? I have an office job that is not too tough physically and I was wondering if I will be able?
2) If you have someone with you, are they required to return to the hotel the night of surgery or will they be permitted to stay if they wish?
Thanks!
Hey Vegas, my cuz brought a friend down with her for support and that friend was not permitted to stay the night in the room after the surgery. She was taken via shuttle back to the hotel for the night, then picked up at 6am the next morning and taken back to the clinic.
Hope that info helps

Hi all.
Been a while to post, back at work and I feel like I'm dragging my butt everywhere!
Pretty tired , think it will be better now that we can take the Vitamins again.
Still bathroom issues but working through slowly. Hard to get all the fluids in when you feel so full off just a few sips.
No real pain just some cramping , not sure if its due to the surg or my guts or my time of the month.
Wish I took more time off work but I have a lot if alone time so I'm going slowly and at my own pace

Good morning all, my group is leaving TJ for home. We had a great experience at OCC , the team was lovely and kind. Very professional ! We all met some great and supportive people. All around a good experience. The staff at the marriott was amazing , so helpful and fun. They are well versed in the rules after surgery and are there to help in a second.
Now..... It starts
Good luck everyone:)

Sleeves for everyone!!!!!
My cuz, my boyfriend and I are all done. I've had to stay a bit longer due to some vomiting. Nathaniel the young looking nurse came and gave me some meds to help but other than that I'm ok.
The worst of the pain was I threw up.
Everyone was nice and supportive.
DrOrtiz spent about 40mins with my group chatting. It was nice, he's a very energetic confident man.
Going back to the hotel soon I hope!
Thanks everyone

FYI I was on the biggest loser, and not only is it unrealistic, but the "magic of tv" makes things worse. A "week" can be anywhere from 10-21 days, and know that most of the former members have put all of it back on. I actually was one of the few who kept it off for over five years (which I was told was the mark for having changed for good) and then, well, life happened. Anemia, fibroids, and another ailment prevented me from working out the requisite 90-120 min a day I was for MAINTENNANCE. To be honest, I'm thrilled it happened. This surgery is making it so I can lead a normal life. Exercise? Yes...but it doesn't have to consume 1/3 of my waking days. And if you want to know the truth, I lost all of the weight on my own to begin with. I have a good handle on nutrition, so that's the one thing the show DID do for me.
Thank you for your honesty.
I am an avid watcher of the show and always admire the effort and dedication of the participants but have often wondered how that would work for them at home.
I hope you are doing well and feeling ok
This is no easy way out , this requires the same derivation and effort only in a different way. It's difficult for me to imagine that things will get better , easier..... I'm super nervous about the surgery, about how this will impact my relationship, everything. I really feel like my weight will eventually kill me if I don't get it off.
It seems that no matter which way I turn its a struggle..... Just which struggle will I be better at handling?

Oh great news…..
But when is this a good option? How long post op?

I don't want to identify myself YET but let's just say I was on a certain reality show and won money for losing weight on my own. That was 8'years ago. I kept it off for about 5 but then had surgeries and was severely anemic. That coupled with another issue and I gained a bit back. I'm super short so I decided to give myself this gift. I shouldn't HAVE to work out 2 + hours a day to maintain weight loss. I don't even eat poorly. Just too much of the healthy stuff. (Pretty certain my body believes it's a 6'7" NBA player) in any event my surgery is tomorrow and I'm terrified. There's nothing I hate more than throwing up. Tell me I'll be ok. Thanks in advance.
Hope you did ok. Im totally terrified too, im 8 days out. I feel sometimes like Im crazy and others like It will be great! UGH…...

Hey everyone just trying to get all the September Sleevers together! I have my surgery September 30th. So when I wake up on the first of a new month I'll be a new person in the making let's all support and help one another!!
My surg is Sept 1 , I will be starting off the month a-new!
-
Have you tried slushies made at home? crushed ice with your fave flavouring? could even just be a strawberry, texturally would that be easier? Im not sleeved yet just part of my post op plan if i can't tolerate plain Water.
-
My date is on September 2nd, starting the diet today, need to lose 15-20 lbs preop.. Are you getting the sleeve done? My parents are hell bent on trying to get me to switch to the sleeve plication but I don't like what I've been reading about people regaining their weight within a few months to a year.
I'm sleeving on Aug 31 I don't know enough and don't feel comfortable myself with plication. So I chose sleeve

Awwwwwwwwe thanks guys People were starting to make me so damn paranoid!!!

Nice to hear from BC people. I'm really enjoying my sleeve but realize that grazing can get you into trouble. So far all has gone well and I'm hoovering around -50lbs this week. I'm down 3 pants sizes. Perhaps we should all meet for coffee in late Aug or Sept - I'm in Vancouver but willing to drive to New West or Surrey. Keep working the sleeve!
I'd be in for that ! coffee ......

Head up darling, YOU know how well you are doing.....
You know you feel better.
its ok...... don't worry.
Don't let other lack of DETAIL hurt your feelings and your amazing efforts.
My brother knows i had the surg
knows i have lost 42 lbs and will REFUSE to acknowledge me , even when someone says "isn't she doing well?" ...silence.
