carbonation does not expand your stomach, per my doc. The real reason is that it takes away your Calcium and dehydrates you quicker. I drink a little sometimes and when I asked my nurse about it, that was the answer I received . She advised me not to , so I don't. On occasion I will have a few sips and then I'm good! Water is the best :0)

Against my doctors orders, I had my first Dt Mountain Dew 2 weeks post-op. Opened the can and let it sit in the fridge over night. I still take little sips no issues so far. I have been able to drink from a can and bottle without letting it defizz, for the last week. <br> Keep in mind everyone is different, its what your new tummy can handle. I have literally had no issues with any of the foods or beverages that should have had me bellied over.
I have also hAd a diet coke and had no problems

Thanks for the advice! I eat on a little plate but I guess the normal habits of eating mouthfuls of food is just a hard habit to break . I will get there. Trial by error I guess

Hello I am having some issues with wanting to revert back to my old ways. It is so stupid but I find myself going against the rules. I was able to eat normal food today . Which excited me! But after I ate I took a large gulp of diet coke! I don't know why I did that ....but I will tell u it was the worst feeling I have ever had! The pain was horrible and it lasted about an hour' the craving was totally not worth the pain . Just wondering if I was the only one who did something like that and how you handled it. I want desperately to loose the weight and I am done 37 pounds! But I don't want to gain or stay the same. Anybody have suggestions

Ok this page is called confession time??? Right! So why would u post on how stupid people r that drink soda occasionally when they r looking for " ! Bashing and making that person feel stupid is just a way for u to feel better about your self! If u have support or ideas then fine! But don't ramble on about "not being able to understand why people drink diet soda" no one asked for your comments on how bad soda is for u!!!! I think we know this and that why she was seeking " support" because after all it is a support page
