  4. 6 weeks out (bypass) have been stalled for a while. So disappointing and frustrating.

  6. You guys are doing great. I'm 6 weeks out and have only lost about 24 lbs. I've been stalled for a while now. So discouraged.
  7. Same here! My daughter is graduating in May so I'm hoping I've lost a good bit by then. Surgery was a last resort for me and not losing even after vomiting nearly every day just kinda makes me feel hopeless. I sure hope things turn around for us soon!

  10. I feel the same way! My surgery was 9/22/14 and I haven't lost anything in about 3 weeks. What makes things worse is I've stayed sick pretty much every day since surgery. It's so frustrating. Makes me wonder if I went through all of this for nothing.

  13. I had bypass, I'm a month out but I still have this problem with water and food. When I asked my doc a week ago, he said I was still healing. Make sure you are taking small sips. Hang in there..Hopefully it gets better soon!
  14. 25 days..still waiting. ????
  15. I lost 14 pounds in 2 weeks on the pre-op liquid diet as well. I had 3-4 protein shakes a day. (I like the body fortress whey protein) I could also have sugar free jello, sugar free Popsicles, drinks that are sugar free..I stuck to powerade zero and water. It was a lot easier than I thought it would be. Just think of how bad you want this and make it happen! Good luck!
  16. @@alibye The water was really difficult for me as well. Since yesterday, I haven't had any problems though. Just make sure you're sipping and not gulping too much at a time. I'm glad you are able to add to your shakes to help. As far as my plan, I'm not allowed anything but the protein shakes and liquids. I'm also allowed to have sugar free Popsicles, which have been amazing! I find this site very difficult to use on my phone but I'll try to add you to my friends.

  18. Today was SO much better! I have kept all fluids down and managed to get in a protein shake. Now my only problem is..I feel like I'm starving! Lol not sure if this is because I've had nothing but liquids since Sept 8 and also went over a week not keeping anything down. When I see the doc Friday I think I will be switched to soft foods. Kinda nervous about that but so ready to have something other than liquids. Thanks for all of the great advice! Hope everyone is doing well! To those of you having the same issues..hang in there it really does get better!

  20. Thanks @@msleslie!
  21. Thanks, everyone. I see my surgeon on Friday. I know that seems so far away, but being it's a 2 1/2 hour drive it's the best I could do. It was a little easier keeping fluids down today but still can't tolerate the protein shakes. Hopefully things are finally starting to get better!
  22. I'm only a week out and having the same problem. Not only do I have the severe nausea but I feel extremely tired and fatigued all the time. Sure hope things get better for us!
  23. Day 6..still vomiting. I haven't kept any fluids down at all. Every sip I take feels like it just sits in my stomach and hurts so bad until it comes back up. I've tried the teaspoon and the warm water..nothing has helped. I'm starting to really regret this decision. I don't know what else to do.
  24. Thanks! That's really great advice! Definitely worth giving it a shot! As far as the anti acids, I was on Prevacid before surgery, but was instructed at discharge to discontinue them. I really think the burning may be from acid, so I'm going to check and see if I could at least give it a try.
  25. I'm 5 days post op and I still can't keep anything down. Every sip of water or protein comes right back up. I'm afraid of becoming dehydrated since I've barely had anything to drink since surgery. When I take a sip of anything it feels like my stomach will explode..very intense pain and burning. Is this normal? I'm becoming very discouraged and starting to regret this. Please tell me it gets better!
