  1. You can spend your time looking up recipes for after your surgery, catch up on your picture albums if you have those, and I have been spending some time on Pinterest picking out all the cute clothes that I am going to wear when I get to my goal weight Good luck on your journey and I hope you find something to do to help pass the time. Summer
  2. Beautiful! You have done a great job!
  3. i have seen many people recommend chapstick Good luck and let us know how you are doing please!
  4. Great news! Congratulations.
  5. Good luck! I dread that part of the process (the liquid diet) worse than the surgery i think lol. Keep us posted on how you are doing please. Summer
  6. Congratulations! I know how excited you must be. Best wishes on your journey to the "other side" Summer
  7. I thought it would be the extra month but I was foolishly hoping it was actually ONLY 5 months lol. I will check with the surgeon next week and let you all know what he says. @micmt Good luck to you wherever you are in your journey
  8. @@Pixers congratulations on having your surgery! You are almost a month out! I am glad you are feeling good now Thanks for your replies.
  9. It is ins requirement. I am sorry you had to put in extra time. That really sucks. Hope everything else is going well for you. Did you have the surgery already?
  10. You look great! I love success stories
  11. When you are on the 3, 4, 5, or 6 month medically supervised pre-op diet do they count the first visit or is it in reality 1 month longer? I have a hard time getting any information from my insurance company (I guess all WLS information is classified as Top Secret lol). I have my first appointment with the surgeon next week and I will ask him then. I just wondered about everyone else's experience. Thanks! Summer.
  12. Good luck! I hope everything goes well for you and you get it all figured out.
  13. Congratulations to both if you!
  14. It was my intention to only tell my husband and almost grown children. I don't think it is anyone else's business. I should not have told my husband though lol. He is very supportive of my decision BUT he has told everyone he works with, his friends, and the neighbors. My family all live around the area so it is not impossible that they will find out. I sometimes think I will tell them if I am approved by insurance but it just makes my stomach upset to think about doing that. So I will just see what happens. There is no right or wrong answer here it just depends on what you are comfortable with.
  15. @BitterSweet* Thank you! @@Momof2inIowa Thank you and I hope so @@proudgrammy Thank you so much Kathy. It is a pleasure to be around such positive people. I have not been approved yet. I have to finish with my insurance requirements and I meet with the surgeon for the first time next week where I will find out if he has more requirements for me.
  16. @@sianywarny good luck with your surgery. I have not heard of the fobi ring. I will have to look that one up. I am sure your children will be greatful to have a healthier more active mother. I am sorry to hear about your mom. I will keep you in my prayers and send good wishes your way Keep us posted on your progress please.
  17. Don't you just hate it when they are right lol.
  18. Thank you @Kissifur. I hope you are doing well (I noticed your surgery was done in June). You must be so happy it is over.
  19. I thought sleeve patients did not "dump" but that sure sounds like what I have read dumping is like. I am sorry you had this experience. Hope you are feeling better now. Summer
  20. I know exactly what you mean @@Dreamin Again. I also avoid mirrors and can't remember when I last had my picture willingly taken lol I am hoping by this time next year to feel so much better about myself that I won't mind the occasional picture and that I will be able to look more kindly at my reflection in the mirror. I hope the same for everyone else who chimed in on this thread. Summer
