    Loose skin

Depending on your age and amount of weight lost; you WILL have loose skin and no cream in the world is going to fix it. The trade off to a big wt. loss is loose skin. The trade off to surgery for loose skin is a scar. AGAIN; age and amount lost dependent.
  2. Very much doubt it was tape. Reaction would have been the same day. Any pollen by you? We are getting into allergy season. Check also any new Protein drinks/food you've been using. Allergy could stem from any of that. Any other symptoms? Hard to breathe, trouble breathing, numbness, tingling? Itching? If JUST the eyes, I'd consider seasonal allergies and use some drops you can pick up at a drug store (ask pharmacist is you need help). If you have any other symptoms, see a Dr.

    Internal hernia post up

I had to have an internal hernia repair the day after my RNY. Since then, I've suffered pain from other hernias and this past year, I was rushed into surgery for a strangulated hernia. The pain was unbelievable and came on so sudden. My belly blew up like a balloon, I couldn't stop vomiting and within 2 hours of onsent, I was under the knife. Very serious. 5 hours in surgery until it resolved. Dr. gave me that advantage instead of doing a colostomy. I agree with Martha; still worth it and I'd do it again without hesitation.

    Revision

What are you revising and when?
  5. rte837

    Revision

I had RNY in 2003 and revised in 2008 d/t wt gain. It helped and I lost 70 lbs after the revision.

    Crying in the shower

How brave of you to share. How wonderful you made that connection. It is a loss; giving up food. And it's a very hard time of year to be so fresh out of surgery. I'm glad you're going to talk to someone. You did a wonderful thing for yourself, but it cost you. You had to give up and very close friend; food. As time goes by and you start losing weight, you will be happy you were brave enough to do this for yourself. Blessings. Keep up posted! And Merry Christmas.
  7. First; this is the place to be graphic! Don't be shy. Second; this happens to many people. There is a help called DEVRON; ask your Dr. when you see him this week. I didn't have this issue, but I bet you'll get a lot of help from this site. It's not a wrong or bad thing; it's just one thing that can happen.

    Mini Omega loop bypass

Thanks for the info! It looks just like the "mini bypass" I know of. Sounds like you're doing pretty good on the weight loss. Congrats! I don't know too much about the sequlae from it. I hope you can get some answers from this site! Good luck.

    Mini Omega loop bypass

I've never heard of an Omega Loop mini bypass. Who did it and where?
  10. Good grief!! You've lost 16 pounds in just 2 weeks. When could you have EVER done that on your own?? Can't sleep on your back? Try your side; maybe sleep in a lazy boy for a while. I did for 2 weeks post op. Hunger? Well, keep pumping in the Water. Itch from one Protein shake? Try a different one. Isopure (can get at a health food store) is a great option. Don't buy the powder. Start with the bottled stuff in case you don't like it. Be sure to get the one that's carb free. You've made a MAJOR change in your life. Of course it will be an adjustment. But post at the end of one month and I bet you'll feel so different!! Hang in there. Be strong. Know that you did a good thing for yourself and things will get better each and every day!!! Don't hesitate to reach out to your Dr. and healthcare team if you need to. Good luck!
  11. You might have gotten broth with no salt which is like a punishment!!! Try different brands. I always preferred the chicken broth as being more palatable. Popsicles, yes; but make sure they are the sugar free ones. You will always hear gurgling now! Get used to it. You'll be fine!! In time you'll probably have no regrets and wonder why you didn't do it sooner!!
  12. Since my surgeries, I am by far more healthy. With all the Vitamins I take (all prescribed by the bariatric surgeon; and I am complient), I RARELY get colds; and I work in a hospital with hands on patient care of some very sick people! Maybe you just need to recover a bit more. 3 1/2 months is still kind of new, especially with the changing weight.
  13. You can still gargle to relieve sore throat pain; warm salt Water. chicken broth will also help that pain. And/or you can buy chloreseptic spray and/or lozenges for throat pain. Vitamin C will help. Lots of water, rest. Not much else to do to get rid of a cold; needs to run it's course. Most you can do is for paliation. Nasal spray if you're congested and can't breathe. Hope you feel better. Summer colds are never fun!!

    Is this normal!?

Yup. Get used to it. It's not a bad thing; just a thing.

    Reactive hypoglycemia

In a severe state, simple sugar; pez, chocolate, sip of coke or juice; it will get you out of the crises quickly.
  16. I'm always amazed at how cavalier some offices are! If you are getting food stuck on a routine basis, and they won't see you (!), go to the ER. Maybe you have a stricture. You should not have to go back to liquids unless there a real problem. DO remember to CHEW CHEW CHEW!!! And in the future, hot liquid might help with pain relief. Smaller bites, chew, relax. 14 lbs in 6 weeks. That's not so bad. Everyone is different. Don't compare yourself to a male's wt. loss. Focus on YOUR progress. Increasing exercise is a good idea. But 30 min. a day is a start. I wouldn't be concerned. I never felt hungry so I can't answer the last one. BUT! They always say try Water first as it may just be thrist. Good luck. Keep up posted.

    Hernias?

    Yes and yes.
  18. What's wrong with "ok"? Don't forget, your Dr. sees this everyday and he's ok with what you did. YOU are the one to be blown away with what you did. YOU know how monumental it is for YOU. You got his approval with ok. Let that be enough to get from him (or her). Trust me; more comments will be coming from more people. And that's great. But YOU are the only one who knows how truly monumental it is for YOU!! Congratulations on an amazing start!!!

    bathroom issues

Sounds typical; was me to a t. Yes, it progresses. Lots of new changes. Embrace that nothing appeals to you right now; it will help with the weight loss w/o you feeling deprived. Slow and steady. You are doing a wonderul thing for yourself!

    Pale after surgery

This is worth a call to Dr. and an H&H blood test.
  21. Don't even recall (sx in 2003) But it can take time. Drink, exercise, keep on with the softener. Give it a week to 10 days; but if you're uncomfortable, then call the Dr.

    TOUGH DAY!

People really do not understand at all. I'm sure they thought they were being helpful. Agree that you should at least let your hubby know how that made you feel. Do not let this dissuade you. You are doing a great job!!!

    Medical wrist band

At first I almost got one because I wanted everything bariatric, thinking it would help my mission. That was in 2003. Now, the procedure is more common and while it should be noted, the bracelet is more a marketing opportunity. Not necessary. Good luck on your journey.
