    Nausea

I struggled with my nausea for 7 weeks. I'm just now feeling normal. There was no medicine would touch it. I had to ride it out while reintroducing food again. I will say I'm not in the normal but I'm glad it was my only complication.

Beni I know all Drs are different but only 20grams of protein? I'm not going to say it's easy but my dr required 90-100 grams of protein early out and I noticed the difference. Even now, if I have a bad day with low numbers I'm up or stalled for the next day. When I get in the 70 I'm required I lose great. I know it's tough. I had an early stall too.

Oh my I was just about to write something about this. I ate a salmon filet yesterday and it was stuck for 5 hours. Vomiting and pain with severe foamed but never got the fish up. I had a few minor foaming issues like you described so I guess last night was the severe version. The dr said its common with meats that are denser early on bc we get comfortable with sorts that don't need to be chewed to death like these denser dryer meats. Let me tell you I learned my lesson! Be super mindful of how much you are biting and chewing ugh.

I believe we are a day apart on surgery. Eating is such a chore! I've had crazy nausea so it makes it even more daunting. I handle fish and salad the best so that's what I stick too. I'm not allowed any carbs (grains, potatoes etc) until 6 months out. I drink a lot of Water easily thank goodness. I'm very jealous you can handle pb2! I loved Peanut Butter before and now I can't even handle pb2 - it's a sad day lol I'm not able to get in the protein consistently and easily as I'd like but that's due to the severe nausea I have when I consume anything. I do know the craving thing though. It's in the head I believe. I think it's getting easier just slowly. Are you working out?

    OCTOBER 2014

Oh I have the same issue. Drinking is easy for me but food is not my friend. My protein is nowhere near its supposed to be. I can't handle meat or any lactose products. Protein shakes are a lost cause because I throw them up...in fact I now have a small gnc store on my counter of products I can't handle. So no working out for me. I can't wait till I can. I love kickboxing and it saddens me I'm not allowed yet. The struggles I'll subside and hopefully soon. Thank you for the compliment ???? 33 lbs gone that I'll never see again!

I've been MIA for a while - we've got quite a few additions since this started. I'm definitely making a list for prayers and encouragement so know that you all have people in your corner. I'm almost 6 weeks out and hit a horrible patch of nausea. It's not gone but I've finally found homeopathic ways to help get through the day. No medicine has worked. I became really depressed so I left the group in wonder why I would do this to myself. I'm out of that thank god. We all are important and go through our trials - it's important for everyone to know you are worth it. You can ask for help. I suffer from the thought that others can have it worse so don't complain. Here's to looking up and moving forward. My heart is with you all! left is now - right is day of surgery

    Pureed food

It's still amazing to me how different post op diets are. My dr is all about purée/soft foods. If I can smash it with a fork I'm good. I'd love to have cream of wheat but I'm not allowed any carbs in that sense or fruit. I have a love affair with fish so I'm good ????

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I have had 3 c sections and a gallbladder removal years ago. This pain is not even close. I have that stitch and the pain attacked full force on day 5. I went to my 2 wk post op and was given another two weeks of Vicodin. I don't need it everyday but when I do I'm so glad I asked. With three young ones homeschooling I'm super active when I don't want to be so I pay for it in a lot of ways. Rest up when you can!
  9. I'm curious. I am one week post op and down 20 lbs. I have been doing everything I've been told but extremely exhausted. So weak my kids are pretty much having to do things for themselves. It's a great thing to lose, but is there a standard on when it's dangerous? Anyone with results like this? SW: 248 at 5'1 - I had no gain after surgery due to fluids

    OCTOBER 2014

Hey all! Oct 7th here. Have had a pretty rough time but things are finally getting better. My mom is a nurse and was able to come help with my three girls. It's quite nice to just ask her if healing is going normal. Getting tired from just liquids. I'm sure once my diet progresses I'll have more energy. I'm down 21 lbs as of today so it's a good start. I'm so happy others are doing well!
  12. It's good to know its not out of the norm.

    Dumping

I have a lactose intolerance now - I can't handle anything other than shakes that are completely lactose free and I experience what you have. I wouldn't trust 98%. Give it a try and see how it goes.
  14. I'm 5 days post op and had the same issue. I figured out I am now lactose intolerant...It resolved it immediately once I changed my protein source

I'm doing okay this evening. Trying to prepare myself to be proactive and never deal with that again. Auri there is something very similar - I've been bloated and miserable - I chalked it up to surgery but now I'm thinking it's the whey. My mother is allergic to whey so it wouldn't be an unrealistic thought. I've been using the premier protein. I've always done soy with no issues - it'll be worth a try

Well, I had my first dumping situation this afternoon. I have never experienced such pain and terror in my life. Chills, sharp pain and boom I hit the floor, scaring the crap out of my kids and hubby. I wanted to share this because I really only thought dumping happened from going off plan...this is a dangerous assumption. I dumped from my normal shake BECAUSE I waited to long in between each one. Be aware how important it is to have a schedule. The lack of hunger is a tricky thing. I only hope none of you experience what I did today. I'm still shaken and sensitive about it ???? happiness from here on out I swear!

my husband just gave me the same speech...he's deployed all the time so I'm used to ding things on my own regardless of how I feel. Now I'm just lying on working on school stuff. Each day I'm praying it's better.

Just a word of warning. 4 days post op and at my wits end in bloating/gas pain I chose to use my kids chewable pedi lax .....it worked BUT the flood gates are open now. Great for the pain, not great when you want to leave the house. You are warned ????

im actually going to have to try a sippy. I can't seem to not gulp and four days post op I can tell you it's incredibly painful. I love ice cold water and used to get down a gallon a day - not possible but my mind thinks it is ....I guess there are worse battles.

I so feel you on the pain. It really puts a damper on my intentions to walk and get all my Protein in. If the gas would just leave I could breathe and drink more. I'm hoping to have a be soon too. 4 days is just ridiculous. Definitely worth it though, didn't gain any water weight in the hospital and down 11 lbs from morning of surgery. It gives me hope! Everyone is doing fantastic whether working this preop circus or the post op chaos ☺️

My doc tells me to cool it when I mention the idea that I won't lose ???? I think this is a legitimate thought but don't let it take ahold of you. It's a head game. Keep positive and we will succeed !,

Hello all! Thank you for the fabulous laughs this morning. I was so out of it in the hospital I missed out on some fun ???? So here's some things I think everyone should ask for...that nausea patch! I can't begin to pronounce it but it's the most amazing thing ever. Behind the ear and can last 4 days. I'm a super nauseous person and laughed at the idea at first but I'm singing it praises now. I was only in the hospital one day but walking right after a dose of dilauded was the best thing to do for me. Mentally prepare yourself for gas pain. Seems inevitable. I got home and slept with a heating pad to the back and it really worked out. Never been so happy to have gas expelled lol I'm ready for the entire October group to get started already!

Getting ready to be discharged soon. Off the dilauded and using Vicodin my mouth. After three c sections and a gallbladder removal I really thought I had a larger pain tolerance. Gas is killer but I've been walking like crazy. Can't wait to get into a schedule at home. Good luck to the up and comings!! You won't regret it ????
