  1. Just got a call from my case worker for my insurance and got approved for sleeve gastrectomy!!! I have a date of 9/23, but it may be sooner now since I got the approval so fast. I CAN'T WAIT!!!
  2. For my 45th birthday I am getting sleeved!!! I think it's going to be the best gift I've received in my entire life. My surgery is 7 days after my wedding anniversary and 3 days before my birthday!

  4. I'm actually leaving on a cruise tomorrow. I had my last weight maintenance class yesterday. I am going to enjoy everything I want on the cruise. I just am. However, since I had my endoscope last Wednesday and they told me I had a hiatal hernia and swollen esophagus, I just can't eat too much. I think they pissed my stomach off already ha ha. Anyway, I'm going to enjoy it while I can. Pre-op fluid diet will be here before I know it.
  5. Where in Florida, Lauren? I'm in Cape Coral. Having surgery with Dr Shieh.
  6. Have Coventry Healthcare and I was assigned a case worker. I know she has been keeping a close eye on things for me. They told me today at the surgeons office. Anyway, I have everything done now and IF they get a hold of my psych eval since I was there over 2 wks ago everything will be sent off Monday. I have a tentative surgery date for 9/23 but if I hear sooner they will move my date up.
  7. Got my tentative surgery date 9/23/14!!!! Yay!!!!!!
  8. My surgeon told me the exact same thing!
  9. ha ha that made me chuckle!!!
  10. Let me say I love my mom and her opinion most of the time. Just this drives me crazy. She knows a man, as do I that had his stomach stapled or let's say 35 years ago. He lost some weight and then he gained it all back and a ton more. I think she thinks this is exactly what is going to happen to me. I want to say "thanks for the confidence mom". And like many of you have said just wait. I actually can't wait until she tells me how great I look, but she may never. I will be healthy and happy.
  11. Ft Myers
  12. Good luck on your visit home!! I completely get that. I'm hoping middle September for my date. I'll find out Friday how long they think and if we can possibly set a date and keep fingers crossed with insurance or if I have to wait.
  13. Oh yes I understand that as well. She's nervous. I'm a mother too and I worry about my kids every day. It just seems she belittles it is all. And thanks for the best wishes.
  14. OKay I have a rant as I'm preparing for my upcoming surgery. I told my mom about the surgery well because I didn't think it was fair to going into surgery and not tell your parents. Maybe I was wrong. Ever since I told her about it she has been driving me crazy. I live in Florida, she in Illinois. She calls and the conversation always goes to the surgery. I have been on my weight management for a couple months and actually meet the last time Friday. She always says "are you still eating your six small meals? Are you losing weight? Why don't you just keep doing that? OMG I WANT TO SCREAM!!!!! So I was adopted and my mom, her sister, my cousins are all small. All have weighed 130 or less pounds their whole life. Small hands wear size 4 1/2 and 5 rings, etc. when I was in high school I weighed top weight 150. Now I'm 5'6" and I was in gymnastics and cheer. According to my mom 150 was too much and by the time I graduated senior year and having my mom make my food for me and that's all I could eat I weighed 123. I wish I was 150 and maybe just maybe I will return to that weight. I'm going to have this surgery....but why does she drive me so crazy about it? I can't lose weight on a diet. I have been on everyone out there and have spent millions on diets. Get over it Mom. Okay rant over.......
  15. I actually thought the carbonation is what is an issue here and not the soda. I love lacroix but I just gave all mine to my daughter. anyway I'm sure it tasted wonderful!!
  16. I'm also waiting for a date, but I am hoping for early September.
  17. I got my echo done and everything came back normal. They actually called me with the results from the cardiologist office before I even got home and I only live 15 minutes from the hospital. So cardiologist clearance ✅ psychologist clearance ✅ one more weight management class and endoscope and I'm ready to send in my paperwork for the insurance okay. I'm so excited and so nervous all at the same time, but I sure hope my surgery is very early September.
  18. I can't wait for a date!!!!! I have finished all but the last weight management class and the endoscope which is all next week. I'm so excited, but nervous at the same time.
  19. I'm going to have surgery in Ft Myers.....anybody around Ft Myers??
  20. Hi! My name is Jamey and I live in Cape Coral, FL. I have a September time frame for surgery, not a specific date because I have to meet all insurance criteria before approval.
  21. I just had my psych eval on Saturday and it was the easiest visit so far!! I'm sure you will do fine.
  22. Thanks everyone. I just thought it was strange, but then again I've never thought I'd have WLS either. So it's all new to me.
