    Liquid diet

Just in general ... I’m being revised on 3/18 and was told liquid. I’m doing shakes and jello. just hard going food to liquid is all
  3. OMG this liquid diet is killing me I don't remember it being that bad the first time LOL
  4. Hi So my appeal was overturned. Yay! What can I expect for revision?  Post op diet the same.  Will I ever eat again. Lots of dumping syndrome?
  5. Yup... just curious if it's done the same way - I mean, I have a hernia being repaired too, umbilical, so maybe they'll do lapo instead of endo.. I will have to ask, regardless, they overturned it, Thank God, with no help from my surgeon's office.. I had to send in EOB from my last surgery, which was hard to get, they purge systems, etc. My clinical were never sent in with the revision request -- had to get 2014 medical records. I did it all myself and faxed things in ... coordinator was on vacation, he'll see when he gets back that I did it all we are moving forward! Maybe theyll do endo. hope so!
  6. Revision is lapro or Endo. I’m confused. Or is it surgeon choice.
  7. Lmao at can eat! I always thought bypass was just that. Eat and no digestion. LOL 200 lbs. wtg! Yay! what’s difference with original bypass and revision. Isn’t it the same?
  8. Oh Wow. I’ve had “slider” Issues with the sleeve. that was due to a few bad choices. My own fault 🙂 I always saw a bypass as never eating again. LOL! I recall many many years ago people having it and never eating a meal again that wasn’t liquid. Guess not. i has a friend who revised due to her stomach flipping ... she won’t admit the revision but her son slipped up and told us. She doesn’t want people to know as she didn’t or hasn’t lost anymore weight from her original sleeve. Unsure what she’s hiding. did you lose any weight w the revision? As long as I get rid of the heartburn and feel good everyday. I can’t take it. This liquid diet today isn’t fun so I hope it’s worth it.
  9. Thanks everyone. I don’t remember even asking about dumping lmaooooo I was half asleep I guess lol Dumping is vomitting or the other day around. and why does it happen anyways? I know what Bypass is and how does that change the way I’ll eat. I better do some research.
  10. Yay!! overturned today. I’m moving forward
  11. Just found out that I was denied revision due to GERD, the day before pre surgical testing tomorrow! I'm sooooo angry!! 6 weeks, I've waited and this is what they do!!?

    VSG to Revision

    They used code 43644
  13. They used 43644 as cpt code
  14. Maybe you’re right. I called my gastro and they told me diagnosis from endo is GERD. I had them fax results to doc again. They stated denial is I didn’t have psych and 6m of visits for the last 2 years. Which is what I did last time. And still high BMI. This should be different I was told. so I’m sure you’re right. They aren’t coding it correctly or someone at the insurance company isn’t doing their job.
  15. me too - had gastro endo another swallowing test, etc... they're ridiculous - they are also stating I didn't maintain loss for 2 years.... they are missing the point
  16. I hope so, on hold with insurance now.... pathetic, its gastro related due to sleeve and they want more clinical visits and a nutritionist again.... I think someone dropped the ball on this one

    VSG to Revision

Denied - I'm so angry!!! day before presurg testing tomorrow.... and the surgical coordinator is going out of town for a few days, I'm on hold now with the insurance... ridiculous! How do they want 6m of clinical, which is what I did last time, when it's GERD and it was a gastro issue...

AGREED!!! I had it many years, along with my pregnancies too!! It came and went - never big issue - then little before surgery I was getting it - put on PPI's and kept on them till after surgery - I'm still on them all these years and it just never goes away - so now I'm up to 2 RX pills per day - protonix as well as Prevacid at night time until surgery - just to try and keep it at bay.. I've tried ACV too - seemed to help a little, as a natural thing - I've tried all different things and end up back on PPIs and I just turned 52, I do not want to take 2 pills per day for another 30-40 years, God willing.. It's horrendous being on vacation and having to not go anywhere, cause my chest is killing me... I've had so many work ups and it comes back to the belly/sleeve issue - I also need a umbilical hernia repaired and they won't do it right now, but possibly do it within the revision surgery, surgeon said. They don't want to do it and repair it if I'm not getting the revision, due to weight gain, etc... so I think they're thinking to do it at one time and then I have a better chance of the hernia not coming back .... One can hope!

Agreed. Wow! Btw. Just because you have issues doesn’t mean you wish it upon others. He was also talking about my insurance carrier which can be a pita. My doctor Stated results are great with revision. Did you have lapband? and you’re kidding you’d prefer being overweight and possibly unhealthy then now?

I cannot wait for this to be done. I never feel well due to this acid reflux If it’s not covered I’m unsure what I can do. I have to wait till March either way. It’s when they have availability

Omy. I’m glad you’re better. yes. I don’t want to live on meds for another 50 years hopefully lol

    VSG to Revision

Oh. I’m very optimistic. They said it’s covered w the procedure code given to me by the surgeons office. It’s ok by the insurance website stating covered due to medical necessity. I have all documentation. Endo. Put on drugs. Swallowing tests. I did everything the surgeon told me to do months ago and have been patient even though I feel like crap everyday and vomit more times they I can count. She even asked me why I gained a little. I gained due to trying to keep acid at bay and see if food can do that. Even water gives me heartburn. It’s ridiculous. I just think this coordinator is miserable with himself. And deals with people all day and he can’t handle it maybe. I don’t care. Cause I will appeal it if it comes back. I’m not leaning towards that though. What do you mean till the hurt my approval. Why would they hurt my chances? He wants me to believe it’s not covered and because I wasn’t seen in the office over the years. Shouldn’t be a deciding factor. I didn’t need a surgeon

Yes. That’s what I was told and have heard. I asked the doctor, I saw last week (my surgeon is on maternity leave!) and he said it’s very minimal that it causes cancer. I know I cannot live everyday, all day, with this heartburn! And the vomitting at night time, half the time anyways. I def want to get rid of this. Had heartburn prior to sleeve and in my 20s but not like this. Can’t live the rest of life like it. Wow. I’ve been on PPIs for a while now. Years even before surgery. Went away and back now with a vengeance. I hope this coordinator is wrong when he says “don’t get your hopes up”

    Possible Revision

Not dramatic at all!!! I agree with you. I wonder why GERD is a big deal. I would have even done bypass instead of sleeve in the beginning.
