Hey there guys. Had my first fill of 5 cc's. I seem to be at a standstill now on weight loss. Is this common?
-
cool! I hope this is my case also!

Hi there guys, I had the surgery June 9th. I have lost about 20lbs. since, but recently I have been at a stand still. I go for my first fill July 28. Is this common to slow down losing weight before your fill?

going in tomorrow morning at 6:30 a.m. for the surgery. What is best to eat for the first week? I need to go stock up on this today. I have Any whey Protein Powder to add to my drink. Thanks.

The day is here and I am getting really nervous. I hope I made the correct decision. Really worried about not eating all the foods that I enjoy. Was this hard to get use to?

since you have been banded and have gotten off meds, does your
"hammer" work alittle HARDER? which meds were you on?
-
This is wonderful news. I cannot wait to have this done!
-
Who is off of their meds since the band? How much did you have to lose to stop your meds?
-
could you be turned down by insurance or your doctor?
-
:cry What do they normally charge for a fill or unfill? Can any nurse do it if they had the correct equipment?

Dr. Tim Robarts, St. Mary's Hospital, Huntington, WV (304) 526-8278. I have no idea if he fills other then his own patients, but worth calling to see. There is also Dr. Brain Nease at Cabell Huntington Hospital.

I think that maybe it, feeling "weird." I occasionally would like to go out, just not over do it. Thanks for the replies.

I have gathered all of the information the insurance needs except for the 6 month supurvised diet. I was on one, just over 2 years ago. I wish they would go with it but I doubt if they accept it. Insurance companys are really silly. I wouldn't want a Lap-Band if I could diet. Whoever writes these rules must be skinny!

I guess what I am trying to ask is:
Can you over eat sometimes? does this make sense?
-
After you have had the band for lets say a year, what can you eat if you had to go to a resturant? Can you have a couple of drinks? I am just curious how this affects your social life.

Arin, that is great! You made me feel good today. Thank You for your kind words.
Good Luck with your weight loss.

Thank You Edie. It has been tough. I believe this will make it abit easier.

Hello to everyone! I am so anxious to get started with the Lap-Band! I am a 43 year old male weighing in at 300 lbs. I have diabetes and just recently had to go on insulin. I have a beatiful 9 year old daughter and I want to be around for her! I lost my wife, her Mother, in 2003 to a terrible accident. So, I guess I am not only doing this surgury for me, but also for my little princess. I have been gathering all of the information for the insurance company. I would like to have my surgury before the new year. This forum has been a great inspiration to me. Thank You all for the help and info.

My cardiologist says I need the lap-band now. He knows I have been on diets and nothing has worked. Will my insurance still make me do a 6 month diet even if he would send a letter stating I need the Lap-Band asap?

I am wanting to have the lap-band surgury. What info does my insurance need to approve this? I see my doc. every 3 months and she is always on my butt about losing, but not really been on a "counceled" diet. Would this be good for BCBS insurance?
1 fill and now at standstill. Is this common?

My first fill was near the end of July. Just haven't been losing since.
