    Sept. 8th & 9th Gastric Bypass surgery.

AngelicHG7 I'll have to let you know I'm at my house until Tues. (I take care of my mom with my daughter. She in respice). Most of my product is at my mom's house, because that's where we are at most of the time. When I was drinking it was when I was during my 6 mons. Is the name of the protein you ordered on Amazon called GENEPRO. I understand you can even sprinkle it on your food.I bought some ready made. I don't see the doctor until the 29th. To get all final details

    Sept. 8th & 9th Gastric Bypass surgery.

AngelicHG7 Maybe I'll stick with Carnation Breakfast It was bad and my protein drinks. I made a shake with the triple chocolate powder, Silk dark chocolate milk,Hershey powder (zero sugar),sugar-free Hershey syrup(I used the regular before it got serious) and ice. It was pretty good. How is that protein? Genepro I was going to order that as well. I believe that it hold up better than Unjury unflavored.

    Sept. 8th & 9th Gastric Bypass surgery.

I'm really happy to hear that basically everyone is doing well. it seems that most of you are having the most pain with the gas. Does the Gas-X help at all? How about the walking any relief? @@Angelic HG7 Shauna29 sent me a PM was happy to hear from her. The 800 cal. would be from protein drinks, Carnation breakfast sugar-free (of course), broth,etc... Also Slim fast has a 1 2 3 protein mix. Also a fruit protein drink. I believe it my be by Isopure. Have you or anyone else tried it and can I get it from GNC?

    Today is my day !

Good luck, a speedy recovery. Hope to have an update on how you are doing. Prayers are with you.
  8. I will have my surgery on the 8th of Oct. I am also a diabetic needing insulin. I also hope that I am in the 15% that eliminates or at least greatly reduce my diabetes and my meds. How long will you have to be on the liquid diet before surgery. I will need 14 days. Good luck on your journey.

    Pre Op Liquid Diet

I understand your problem, simply because food is not like smoking or social drinking . You have to eat, you don't have to smoke or drink. Let's be honest Burger King and McDonald's smells lot better than a cup of Soup or should I say broth. But stay focus on the big picture. I don't start my liquid until the 26th. surgery Oct 8th. During that time I may need you to remind me of these words I shared with you. Good Luck

    Sept. 8th & 9th Gastric Bypass surgery.

AngelicHG7 So glad everything went well. You seem to be in good spirits. You started walking around 2 a.m. What time was your surgery? I just got word today about my 800 cal.a day for i4 days. I start on the 26th which is 1 day before my grand-daughter's birthday. (that sucks), but you do what you have to. You were lucky to have a private room. It makes it easier to rest. Have a happy and safe trip home. P.S. Anyone have any contact with Shauna29. I am concern about her, and I don't want her to be discouraged.

    The Waiting Game

My advice to you is call. I was finished with my 6 mons. in March but didn't get my surgery date until Aug (which hopefully will be Oct. 8th) I also found out I was approved from my insurance company. That way you know what information is needed, and when paperwork was submitted Good luck

    Sept. 8th & 9th Gastric Bypass surgery.

Hey Shauna29, I am so sorry that your date was changed. Please believe that we are all here for you and we are joined by the fact that we all have traveled the same road and hopefully will enjoy the same journey. I realize that right now you want to take time to deal with this hurdle, but remember that we will truly miss your posts and encouragement.
  13. I am so glad the weight(wait) is over. And sorry you had to go on that merry-go-round but, at least someone cared enough to call you instead of making you wait on pins and needles all weekend. Good luck and speedy recovery.

    Sept. 8th & 9th Gastric Bypass surgery.

I am looking forward to not taking insulin, and checking my blood sugar. People may think its strange but I forget I have diabetes sometimes. And I have pressure on my nerves in my back. That never (constantly hurting) ending pain. But three cheers for us. I'll be joining all of you in a month Good Luck and a speedy recovery to all.

Did you bug your insurance company?

Yeah I called the insurance company and my clinic. And I'm glad I did because there were a lot of things that could have been done while I was going to the NUT instead of waiting after my 6 months which was March 28, 2014. I thought that I'd have my surgery by May, didn't happen. 2 sleep studies had to be done. Medical need form, didn't know I need that until I call to see if my medical records were sent out for approval. Call again, clinic and my primary doctor could't get a simple fax together. I call the clinic --call my doctor--call clinic (on and on). I was told that my paperwork was sent to the insurance company. Called insurance no paperwork. The clinic says Sent it out June 6th, June 19, and June 29. I kept calling insurance company finally got it July 6th. Called clinic haven't heard anything. Called insurance it could take up to 30 days. The clinic stated,"we tell everyone 30 days but, its usually less. Call insurance company, " it takes 30 days, but its week-days. Called insurance company, HAPPY, HAPPY, I am approved. Call Clinic they haven't been informed. "Could you call and get the approval number", sure I can do that. The insurance company"We don't give out numbers, we just send out the letter (WHAT). It felt good to complain. but seriously keep in contact with your doctor office and the insurance company so you can be aware of what is needed and make sure everyone is doing what needs to be done for you. It's only one of you and this is important to you, other people probably get so many forms and letters because it is a job for them. But actually this is your life and your goals.

    Sept. 8th & 9th Gastric Bypass surgery.

Hey everyone I was so excited that I was ready to join your group of supporters. I saw 8th and 9th and was yeah. Then I realized it was Sept. I got my letter of approval and thought I would get dates and appt. times. I was told I'd get an email with instruction. Haven't got it yet. By the way everyone getting ready for Sept 8th is talking once the ball gets started it rolls kind of fast. So that being said, I'd still like to be a honorary Sept 8th & 9th supporter, and know how you all are doing. Good Luck and speedy recovery to all.

    Does everyone need plastics

Cowgirljane I see you had the lapband and had a sleeve revision. What was the reason you picked the sleeve. I am to have the gastric bypass, to help me with my diabetes Along with the weight as well. Is the recovery time about the same. I'm just trying to make sure I'm picking the right surgery. I know I don't want the band. Thank you.

Hello walkin'onsunshine, We are only 1 day apart from our surgery. So we'll hopefully, be able to compare our surgical adventures. It will be nice to have someone to talk to during this journey. We'll be able to compare our pre-op instructions. So good luck to the both of us.

    Jumping through hoops... Check!

Right are you nervous? I want the date to hurry up and get here but, after all the stumbling blocks I've had (and its' the little things that snowball into a big thing) I start to feel like maybe this is a sign. By my calculation I should of had my surgery in May. Sometimes I feel that all these stumbling blocks will only make me appreciate the surgery more. Some members are so dedicated right from the start. I feel that I will be a lot better when get my paperwork letting me know whats happening step by step.
