Hopping To It

Mine are MD Better and I started with 3 a day until the 11- 13 days and now it is 4 per day, they are tolerable, I have to mix them with skim milk. When is your surgery?

Only protien shakes , sf jello and popsicles, crystal lite on the go and lots of water. Oh yea and broth.

Getting banded on the 15th, nerves are getting bad. Have been on pre-op liquid for 13 days down 21#'s, so it is well worth sticking to it even though it gets exxxxxxxxtremely hard

I am on day 11 of the pre-op with Thursday being surgery............. This has to be the worst diet to stick to in the universe. Just needed to vent...................

Sunshiny, How are you doing on the pre op diet so far?

HI, I have to lose 200#'s and am on my pre-op liquid diet now with banding scheduled for November15th. I am the same as you the Bypass is way scary. Cgts on breaking the500, soon it will be 400.

I am in day 2 of the pre-op! I have absolutely followed it to the letter. I will not cheat as this is so important to changing my way of life for the better. I have not been hungry at all, however I do have the want to eat just from the addiction of food. I was told that this pre-op diet will shrink the fat around the liver which can mean the difference of laproscopic surgery to open surgery. Be Strong All and See Ya Liter!

WOW Wishes congrats on the great headstart to your new life, I am at BMI of 58 and have to do the liquid diet for 2 weeks, I am so ready to get started. My surgery is November 15th so all of you November bandsters please post after your surgery so us later November bandsters can read and have your support.

I just was scheduled for Nov 15th today and I want to sing it to the whole world!!!!!!!!! I am so excited and I find people are very supportive and excited for me....

Hi all, I have just been approved and have been scheduled for banding on November 15th at Hurley Medical in Flint. I am from Pt. Huron but my insurance is B/C and they will not authorize my surgery here. I am so excited to get this going. I have been looking at all the posts and you guys seem so supportive, it is great!!

Just wanted to share my great news with you all, I got insurance approval yesterday and have been scheduled to be banded at Hurley in Flint Michigan on November 15th. One more week until I start the preop liquid diet. I am so excited to get this going.

Hi, I have not been banded yet however I have had the same exact pain you are describing for a month or longer, they tell me it is a hyadel hernia and they will fix it during banding. It is on the left side under my ribcage and at times it is a charlie horse and other times it is like the start of a charlie horse. I think you should have it checked by your DR.

I have smoked for 30 years and quit now for 2 and 1/2 months, I used the new medicine Chantix... It really works without the withdrawel symptoms. Good Luck

Hi Boo Boo, It is great of you to reply, my surgeon is Dr Dannon, I have not heard much about him, I did meet him at my consult and he seemed to be caring. I definately know what you mean about doing the leg work myself. I have BCBS of Michigan and thought that everything was submitted only to find out that Hurley needed more info on my previous weight loss programs. I am super excited about getting this done and am so UNpatient. Thank you for the advice on fills as I was wondering about these. I will definately take your advice. As for you, WOW you have lost so much weight you must be feeling Great. Thanks again for your support!
