What to expect postop day 6
krimrod replied to Lateese92's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is true, and the more the merrier! Here is the message I've been sending everyone: Since the group is secret, direct links to it won't work so I have to invite people via email unless they're Facebook friends. If you'd like to send me your email address, I'll send out an invitation right away. -
Messages sent!

That's awesome, congratulations! I hope you find out your date very soon!

Okay, I've sent messages to everyone who has asked. If anyone else would like to join, or if I inadvertently missed you, just let me know!

Cross-posted. I haven't seen a link or discussion of setting up a private Facebook group yet. Is anyone interested in joining one? I'll create it. Just message me and I'll add you! -

I had one. It's really nothing to worry about. They put you under and it lasts like 10 minutes. I was home in under 2 hours. No pain.

I have the vanilla, iced latte, and banana. I think the vanilla is best. I have to say, the soup is pretty terrible. I might have to find a substitution.

Oh man, lucky break! Only one week! I'm sorry you're having a tough time though. I think I somewhat knew what to expect with the Protein shakes. It's been my go to Breakfast for a while now (although I would make mine taste awesome with fruit etc). Our plan allows for a banana so my trick is freezing sliced up bananas and I blend those into my shakes. And a little ice. I find they taste better cold. The frozen banana gives it a milkshake texture and helps it taste a little bit less chemicalish.

The first day of the pre-op diet yesterday was a little tough. Today is already a lot easier. I think the evenings will be the worst (the snacking hour). I have to say, I think I can definitely do this

I am! I'm actually about to try the soup now...
-
BeccaE1: Best of luck to you too! Monasongbird: Mine is all Bariatric Advantage products. The soup is a Protein vegetable soup. The bar is an apple cinnamon Protein Bar.

Oh boy. Started the 2 week diet today. 4 shakes, 1 soup, 1 bar. I want food already hahaha. Ugh. I'm sure it will get easier. It's just a little odd right now to not have almost any chewable food.

My surgery is scheduled for Oct 21st. I start my 2 week pre-op diet tomorrow and also have my final meeting with the surgeon and dietician. Getting super nervous. I just want it over and done with.

I start my two week pre-op diet tomorrow. I'm getting more and more nervous. The list doesn't display 100% for me because I always look at this on my phone. I'm in VA, though. -

Everything is definitely becoming very real. I got all of my pre-op testing done. Results for everything were normal. I have my last appointment with my surgeon and nutritionist on 10/7, I start my pre-op diet that same day. Then all that's left is PCP sign off on 10/13 and then surgery on 10/21! -
I got my date this past week. October 21! I just have to schedule my bloodwork/EKG/abdominal ultrasound which will all be done at one appointment. Everything else is all scheduled. I'll be starting my pre-op diet on 10/7. Wow, that just hit me.

I keep getting good news. I met with the office manager and surgeon today. My surgeon waived the sleep study because I don't have the risk factors (other than weight) and no symptoms. So all I have to schedule now is the full blood panel, EKG, and abdominal ultrasound which will all be done in one appointment at the hospital. Let the countdown begin! Just over one month left. -

I just got my approval and my date today. Oct. 21!!! So excited. I still have some pre-op meetings and blood work and a sleep study to finish. But I've been waiting to get that date for a while now! -
Total Newbie- Looking for fellow newbies!
krimrod replied to Jezika's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow. I called my surgical group yesterday to verify that they had received everything. I got a call back that said "we will be submitting this week." I was a little bummed that they hadn't done it yet. Then about an hour ago I got a call from them telling me that I am approved! I have a surgery date of 10/21. Holy crap! -

Woohoo! I just got confirmation today that my psych eval was sent to my surgical group so they can now submit to insurance. Fingers crossed! I hope they don't take forever to respond. -
Bluepoint Surgical Group
krimrod replied to Jennifer2575's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I have BCBS Carefirst. I believe it's the MD plan even though I live in VA. It's kind of confusing. I ended up paying nothing for the psych eval. The total of all pre-surgery and post-surgery requirements will be $700 something according to the sheet I was given by Bluepoint. That is not counting any copay I have for the surgery itself.
