  1. It's not unreasonable at all to want to decide who you tell and who you don't. I've purposefully not told certain people too. But on the other hand, I do understand a little why a spouse would want to tell a few people, because your spouse will need support too! This will be a very big life change for both of you. Your wife probably has some fears about your surgery, the risks, how it will change your lifestyle together, how you might change as a person, etc. So, she likely needs people she can talk to about all that. Because of this, I haven't put any restrictions on my husband as to who he can tell, I just asked that he be respectful, treat this as he would any other medical condition, and only tell others on a "need to know" basis.

    Well said !????

  2. I have 4 children. My oldest is a girl she new and so does her husband. My son 21 new also because he's in college and living home. My husband did not want me to tell many ppl. I just told my other 2 boys this pass weekend and their wives. So with that said I have come to a place in the past 5 months that I really don't care what ppl think. As my daughter would say at the end of the day you have to be happy. Surgery December 4th

  3. I love to have parties. It was always my plan that i was going to throw a "Last Supper" potluck where everybody would bring their favorite guilty pleasure. Then, !!AllOfASudden" my surgical coordinator put me on a liquid diet. There was no warning at all. I contemplated waiting a day or two before I started so I could have a few of my favorite meals, but I decided that it was time to stop messing around with food. I went out and got what I needed for this. She told me I'd be on it until the surgery so that is that. I am pretty glad I made that decision. I do look back every once in a while, but I have to do this. I am 61, and it is my last chance.

I feel the same as you do. I am 56 and I feel it's now or never. My surgery is Dec.4th

The only difference is I do not have to be on a liquid diet. Only clear liquid the day before. We can do this ????

  4. Day 1 and day 2. Not pretty. Not gonna lie. Walking is ok but getting up from bed is unbearable.

Hurts to drink anything burns really bad going down. Gas must be in there because my back and shoulder blades could use a massage.

The IV morphine did the trick but day 2 I have to try to drink more and not be nauseas.

    Wish me luck

    Hope you feel better soon????

  5. I started my journey in Aug. I was approved 2 days ago. Looks like my surgery will be 1st week in December. Everyone's Ins. Is so different. I have BcBs Il. My paper work was sent in on Oct. 13 and Nov. 5th I was approved. I am excited and nervous at the same time. My Dr. Said that was normal. It will be fine! So about 4 months. ????
