  1. OK, I'm following you. I think I will see what I can do. I have never set up a challenge before. I may need to get Whosya to help me.
  2. Does it seem like time is moving more slowly than ever!! I am so ready to get this done. It seems like the day will never get here!!
  3. Nike+ is a sensor that tracks your running(speed, distance, etc). You put the snesor in your shoe and hook the other part to your ipod. If you don't have an ipod you can use a Nike+sport watch. After your runs you download the info to Nike+. Once you are set up you can join challenges. It is really a lot of fun and great motivation. Go to www.nikeplus.com to read all about it.
  4. I knew yours would be great as you are always running. You are very consistant, something I really have to strive for.
  5. I'm staying on plan today because I did yesterday and I want to be consistant!!!!
  6. Speck, I am with you. I will get my water in today as well!!!
  7. Kathy, Our challenge started on Thursday, so that's in 5 days. If you kept up with your distances, I think you would be surprised at how much you run. I had no idea that I run that far. It really motivates me to get up and do something. My focus is not so much distance or time but consistancy. I just need to make sure that I do SOMETHING every day. It's really a lot of fun.
  8. Way to go Sugar!!!!!!
  9. I am down 86 pounds since my surgery Oct 24, 2007. I feel great and am a totally diffirent person. I don't know how much I have in my band. It is a 10cc band and I thnk I have around 8cc. I have had fills and unfills, and right now I don't have enough restriction, but I am just dealing with that for now. For my bandiversary gift, I am having a tummy tuck, thigh lift and mons lift on Oct 24th. I can't wait. I have gone form a size 22 to size 10. I run 3 miles every other day, and do Something active every day. I have energy. I feel like I have a new elase on life. I love my band and my life. It's hard to believe how much things can change in 1 short year!!
  10. It is hard. This weekend I ate 3 popcorn balls that I had bought for my boys. I keep them healthy snacks, so we don't have a lot of junk, but they need the carbs, at least the good ones, so I feel bad to restrict them. I do things like fix strawberries and fresh cream for supper. I eat straight cream and no strawberries. Kinda a compromise. DH is really considerate though and that helps. He says that is I cook it, then he will eat it, and he pretty much does so that is good. This journey would have been SO much more difficult without his great support. We have made it a family affair. Today my 9 year old came in the computer room to confidently announce that our family is the healthiest in town. He cracks me up!!
  11. the gas x that i ended up using was chewable. a lot like tums. I got peppermint flavored. They were actually not bad tasting. I remember stressing over what to take to the hospital and what to have ready at home. Preparing in advance was very helpful in my recovery.
  12. There is a whole forum on preparing for surgery. It includes what to bring with you listsw, etc. Go to the main forum page click on Frequently Asked Questions forum click on Lap Band Surgery Frequently Asked Questions Click on You Have a Date! Prep for Surgery. This should help a lot with what to take and what to have ready when you get home. Best wishes to all of you!
  13. Have some of the regular gas x available too. I couldn't tell that the strips did any good.
  14. OK, I don't know how o do the cute little thumbnail, but today's totals are now..... Renewedhope - 14.92 Whosyadaddy - 14.44 I walked/ran 3.6 miles and it kicked my butt. I don't know why I am so tired today. maybe all those sugary carbs over the weekend. I just know if I let him get very far out of reach then there is no catching up!! This really is a lot of fun. Thanks for the motivation Whosya! Otherwise I would have put off today's exercise!!
  15. just ran 3.6. Well, walked/ran. It kicked my butt. I don't know why I am so tired. Probably all the icky sugary carbs I ate over the weekend, but I made myself run. Whosya went ahead of me on our Nike+ challenge. I couldn't go another day without running. If I let him get very far in front there won't be any catching up!!
  16. You are sooo bad!!! I am fixing to go run. How do you post those little stats btw!!
  17. One too many carbs this weekend and I am having some MAJOR carb cravings today. So far, so good. I just whipped up a special little treat to try and hold me over until I am back in ketosis. Probably not the most healthy, but here it is. I didn't even measure. It was a crisis moment. Throw something together or go get a hot fudge sundae. Here is what I whipped: cream cheese, splenda, heavy cream, vanilla, an egg. It was really very yummy, and with very few carbs. Can I live on this for a couple of days???
  18. Glad to see you back Bea!! You are always welcome. Great job on the exercise regimen!! Georgia, I can't wait for you to get a Nike+. We will have so much fun doing the challenges. Don't you wish we could trade those bodybuggs we bought together in on Nike+ now. It seems we have both changed our focus to moving!!!!! How cool is that!!
  19. My cycle returned to normal about 2 months after surgery. I have come to HATE the normal 28 day cycles. I was so used to 1 or 2 periods a year and so excited that I am finally "normal". Well, my little monthly visitor is getting to be a real bother, especially since my sex life has returned to "normal" as well. LOL Did I just say that!!!
  20. LOL Whosya, not kicking your a$$ anymore. I better get with it. I knew you'd be checking in so I thought I better behave at least a little. Looks like you are ahead of me know, but never fear girls, I will catch up. Just for you!!
  21. YIPEEEE KAthy!! Sounds very promising. I will miss you being on here so much during the day, but a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do!!! Wishing yo the best on Wednesday!!
  22. I'm staying on plan today because I didn't over the weekend and I am BACK ON TRACK!!!
  23. I did not exercise today. If I don't run tommorow someone please give me a cyber kick in the butt. I am on a roll here. I don't want this weekend to mess me up!!
  24. Happy bday Cyndi!! The liquid diet is a real pain, but you can do it! Ig gets better
