  1. Went for my fill today and the doctor was asking me if I wanted 1cc or .5. I asked him for his advice. He said, "Well are you hungry?"

I had to think about it for a NY second (that's all I got bc I am in NYC) and the word Yes came out but I can't really say that I'm hungry all the time.

I find I'm eating because I want to. And how do we get over that???

  2. So sorry to hear about your loss. Both my parents died by the time I was 40 so I know what it's like to lose parents. There are no words other than I'm sorry and take this time to be kind to yourself and let others be kind to you. The one thing that I found comforting is to do something nice in his honor. That will depend on what he liked or if you did something special together. I do this every year around my parents' anniversary. Let's me remember them in a positive way.

  3. Awesome!!! Was wondering how you are doing. Keep it going. I'm getting my third fill (I also had a weather related cancellation) first week of April. Last time I just got a half cc. Wondering if I should get a whole cc. I'm generally feeling VERY hungry in the morning and ok every 4 hours after that.

Anyone else very hungry in morning? Seems like most people are not hungry in the am.

  4. I would spend a lot of time here reviewing posts and also on YouTube. I was 315 before surgery. I had just Packed on another 30 pounds in less than a year. I knew that something had to be done or my weight was going to completely spiral out of control even more. I spent a lot of time talking to my doctor and researching the good and the bad parts of getting the band. In the end it was the best decision for me. I'm down about 60lbs since November. Get books as well which I found helpful like the Big Book of Lap Band and Weight Loss Surgery for Dummies.

  5. Every time I think that I'm not losing fast enough I think how if I did not have this band I would be gaining more and more weight and feeling like I had no ability to lose 5lbs. Make sure you keep a diary with weight and inches and photos. When I get down I look through it and realize how far I've come. The amount I have to lose seems daunting. I am inspired by those who say "it took me 3 years to lose my weight". That will be me. I know it. And I'm still learning not to eat around my band and how not to get stuck so I consider these few months a learning time.

  6. Had the same thing. The 20s I got from goodwill were so baggy but went to try on jeans at Macy's today and none of the 18s or 20s fit. They all were those slim fit ones. My god slim fit plus size jeans??? What the heck!!!

  7. Jut checking in. I'm down about 50lbs but have not been working the band the last 2 weeks and have not lost much weight which is all my doing, not my band. Otherwise I have not had any complications and I feel so much lighter and healthier since my initial weight loss.

I had a first goal of 50lbs. I now am going to do it 10lbs at a time since my weight is not coming off as quickly. I have about 60 more to get to my doctor's goal for me of 200lbs. I'm not sure what my goal should be. According to BMI charts I should be about 155 so that would be another 105lbs. Wow that sounds overwhelming!!!
