Wait a couple of weeks and see what your progress is like.
The if surgeon performed the malabsorption part of the surgery, you will lose weight, how much is the variable so you may just have to work a little harder but you still have a tool to assist you
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
The things you may have to concentrate on now is Portion Control and dietary/lifestyle changes. Many people (after the very intial stages) STILL have to focus on this anyway.

You didn't lose much of an advantage.
You may have gained the advantage of skipping all the ill effects of changing the stomach size ( nausea, vomiting, tightness, etc.) And advance straight into a more veteran style (years out when the restriction is relaxed to the point of nearly normal portions)

Make sure the nutritionist/dieticians you see craft and tailor a plan just for you. Please let us know how everything goes as this will help others
p.s. I can still drink at a normal rate like prior to both of my surgeries, so youre not alone
💗CONGRATULATIONS ON A SAFE SURGERY💗
Thank you!!!

My Doc said my stomach was incased in thick scar tissue from previous surgeries so it could be dangerous to cut into it in fear that he damages other organs.
I just feel dejected because i work out alot, personal trainer 3 times a week, i eat relatively healthy but due to hormones and thyroid problems I'll probably lose 10-15lbs.. this is why i decided on the surgery because i was getting depressed about it... now it seems after going through this process I'm still in the same boat.
I'm generally not a pessimist but i just feel like the odds are again stacked against me.
Rant over!!

Has anyone had the DS surgery where the Doc did not reduce the size of your stomach, they only rearranged your intestines so it wouldn't absorb as many calories. Please share your story as I'm feeling hopeless and regretful.
I'm 3 days post op and can drink the same as pre-OP, im trying not to...
I'm definitely freaking myself out that this will not work.

Hi!
Has anyone heard of Malabsorption Gastric Bypass? So i was supposed to have the Duodenal Switch surgery but when my Surgeon went in yesterday my stomach was incased in scar tissue from previous surgeries so he didn't reduce my stomach he said he disconnected and then reconnected the bottom part of my stomach so i wouldn't absorb as many calories. He said it would have been very dangerous, risk of piercing stuff and would have also needed to do open surgery if he was to remove the scar tissue..
Has anyone heard of this or had it happen to you?
I feel devastation.

Thank you All, surgery went well! 😊😊. Still in hospital, could drink a gallon of Water but will have to do with the ice chips. Pain has been under control, regular top ups of morphine. All in all not too bad an experience (so far). 😊😊
I pray that all is well with you guys.

Hi guys, i start my liquid diet today and I've got all my Protein Drinks, sugarfree popsicles etc but what kind of Soups do you all have on the pre-op diet. I don't like Tomato soups and not a great fan of creamy soups either. Are there any other soups you'd recommend or recipes? Thanks!!!

Thank you, that is such good advice, will definitely start to wean off the caffeine. I walk on my treadmill daily for at least 45mins a day so that part is good.

@Bianca S. my surgery is on 7/23 and i am so anxious to the point of diarrhea! I have done so much research on the surgery and my Surgeon so I'm comfortable that this is the right decision for me but i just cant stop the anxiety.
Good luck on your surgery!
