I am doing great as well! I had surgery Dec. 16th and have lost 80 pounds and now weigh 136. I have felt good since the day after surgery, no issues with food or drinks going down or tasting funny and other than losing weight I don't feel like I had surgery at all! I am so thankful because after reading a lot of posts about complications before my surgery I was a little worried

I was told to take Centrum multivitamin/multimineral chewables and calcium citrate, two each per day, plus a sublingual b12...that's all I take, six months out I had my blood work done and all Vitamin levels were good, except B12 was too high so I only take that 3 times a week now????

I didn't have a drain, I did have a catheter they put in after I was put out and didn't feel anything when they removed it.

I had bypass and didn't have a drain or feeding tube.

I'm 5'2 and weighed 211 on day of surgery 2 weeks ago. I'm am currently down to 189lbs and feel awesome!????

I can tell you that personally I haven't had a single bad post op experience! I'm two weeks out and feel great! Never had any nauseous or pain or regrets, I have not even had the up and down emotions that a lot of people seem to have... Nothing but positives for me????

Merry Christmas Everyone! Had surgery on 12/16 and am feeling great! I am down 15 lb's since surgery day and have not regretted my decision for one second. My energy is improved as well, I find myself wide awake at 4:30 am and ready to start my day! Hope you all are doing well!????

I'm five days post op and know exactly what you mean! Only so many clear liquid varieties. I'm really looking forward to the full liquid stage, though I'm sure I'll get tired of that fast as well.

Very nice! I was/am a little sore but no real pain, I didn't have a drain.

I'm also on the 16th. Starting to get nervous, one minute I'm 100% committed, the next I am second guessing this decision. Anyone else wrestling with nerves?
I'm also the 16th and although nervous, the past few days I've just been really excited! Looking forward to buying clothes and all that type of stuff????. I imagine however, that the last couple of days leading up to surgery the real nervousness will kick in!

Wow! That is crazy. My surgeons office submitted my paper work and exactly two weeks later the coordinator called and said "Aetna approved you lets get your surgery scheduled". I never once called or talked to Aetna in any way at anytime during the process!Hiedie, it amazes me how people's experience with Aetna differ so much. My surgeon's office cleared me for surgery on 11/17. My paperwork arrived at Aetna the afternoon of 11/20. I had been calling Aetna twice a day and managed to call that Thursday just after they had arrived. I was approved that same afternoon. Aetna called me early the next morning 11/21. I requested a faxed copy of my approval letter and then faxed the letter to my surgeon's office. I was told today, by the nurse practioner, that the only reason I'm having my surgery in December is because I faxed them the approval letter. As of today, the surgeon's office hasn't received anything from Aetna. I actually got the last open surgery spot on the 2014 schedule!
Congratulations on getting your date!!????

It was the patient coordinator at the surgeons office who called and said I was approved, so she scheduled my surgery right then. I didn't receive my approval letter from Aetna until a few days later in the mail. So the surgeon received the approval before I did ????

Hiedie I'm the 16th also. Can't wait still more nervous about my two week pre diet "full liquid". I know I'll be nervous as day closes in because actual surgery and recovery. But just thinking of how much better my life will be. I can't wait. You are in a great place nothing but support here. We're all in it together. Love this group.
Thank you! As nervous as I am, I am even more excited!! I got lucky as my surgeon doesn't require a pre-op diet. I love this site and reading everyone else's experiences????

I had RNY 12/16/2014. It has been a great year! I have felt great from the first week of surgery, no complications, no real problems with any foods or anything. I am so thankful that I went through with it and didn't chicken out as I thought about doing many times in the preliminary stages
I am 5' 2" and my original starting goal for myself was 140lbs, however I am now at 121lbs!
I cannot believe how fast this year has flown by!!
