  1. I'm here! Surgery Wednesday went well and I am home and resting. Yesterday was kind of a out of it day for me, so I didn't get on here to post an update. I didn't get to leave the hospital until after 5:00 pm because I was having trouble peeing on my own and had to be cathed twice. Doing good now though and am glad to finally have my band and be on the way to the new me! Hope everyone else who has gone this week is home and doing well!
  2. I am so glad I am the first surgery of the day tomorrow! Head to the hospital at 4:30 am for surgery at 7:30 am. I'll post as soon as I can!
  3. Thanks! I am starting to really get excited!! Don't know how much sleep I am going to get tonight!
  4. How did it go, Leah?
  5. My drive is a little over an hour and I am planning on staying one night in the hospital. The doctor left it up to me if I wanted to do that or go home. I thought I would probably just feel better about everything if I stayed. That is a long way to go in the middle of the night should any complications arise.
  6. Apple! Today is your day! What are you doing on here???
  7. I know! I am about to bust!!!
  8. I am on 50 - 60g/day as well.

I don't think I am going to make my 30 pound goal by 7/4. :wink5:
  10. Hey Kerry! I'm doing good. Realizing this is my last weekend before surgery is kinda shocking! Now I just wish I could fast forward through the next 5 days and that would be great. :cornut: I am ready to be on the post-op thread! :hurray: Glad you found someone who could give you encouraging words about your doc first hand. It won't be long now!!! :wink5:
  11. Glad you are doing well. 21 pounds is really good! Keep it up!!
  12. Wow! Look at the group for tomorrow! 17 people!! What a great bunch. Good luck to all of you!!
  13. I am doing a modified Atkins. I wanted to do liquids, but he prefers Atkins, so we agreed on liquids all day and high-protein supper, as long as I can get 50 - 60 grams of protein per day and no more than 50 grams of carbs. I'm not feeling so bad now, the scale is down 8 pounds in a week, so definitely motivating! Thanks for the kind words. Now that I am less than a week untl surgery, it feels like a breeze!
  14. Hi and welcome to all the new Jazzy Junes!
  15. Glad everything went well and hope you get to feeling better soon!
  16. Good luck to both of you tomorrow!
  17. Hope all of you "niners" had uneventful surgery today! Update us as soon as you feel up to it. Nine more days for me! I am starting to get exited, but this diet thing is starting to suck!!
  18. Good luck tomorrow, Tazmin!! I'll be thinking about you! Post and let us know how you're doing as soon as you feel up to it.
  19. I did. All of my testing (upper GI, blood work, etc.) was done before submission to insurance.
  20. I was told to do the Atkins, but got permission to do a sort of modified version. I have liquids all day and high protein supper at night. I have lost 4.5 pounds since Wednesday! I just have to be sure to get at least 60 grams of protein per day. That has not been as hard as I thought it would be! I figured if I started doing mostly liquids now, the transition wouldn't be as hard after surgery.
  21. Wow! Lots of new people! It's really interesting reading about everyone. Thank you al for sharing about yourselves and good luck!
  22. Thanks for asking this question. I don't care for artificial sweeteners either, but I see them mentioned so often on here, I was afraid they were just something I was going to have to live with!
  23. Haha! I have to admit that misspelling of "y'all" is a pet peeve of mine. I lived in Atlanta (Alpharetta actually) for 4 months last year! My husband and son decided it was time to move back home becasue they are "too country to live in the city".
  24. :incazzato: Yippee!!! So happy for you!!! I am staying on plan today because I am 10 days pre-op and I have to! BUT the scale had mmoved down this morning, so that is a good reason too! :driving:
  25. I will probably weigh more frequently post-op. Right now, the scale goes up and down so much that it can be discouraging if I think I have been doing well and the scale moves in the wrong direction! :incazzato:
