    Goodbye to beer and pizza?

I've eaten some pizza, mostly pick off the cheese/toppings part, and leave the crust behind. As for beer, I'm a bar mamager, and wanted to try a new ipa we started serving, figured one sip would be ok, NOT!!! Hurt before it even got down all the way. Now, margaritas and bourbon or scotch on the rocks... totally different story! Lol. I guess everyone is different, gotta figure out what you can or can't handle for yourself.

I know this is a MFP message, but I'm sure lots of us have fitbits, too. Anyone interested in being fitbit friends, too? Think we need emails to friend on fitbit, or facebook, but I'm not on that anymore... Message me and I'll request you.

My wife is scared and nervous

@@Nikasio I totally agree, my wife and I had our sleeves down the same day, by the same surgeon. She eats all kinds of things that I wouldn't dream of, or even could if I wanted to, like bread, Desserts, etc... I would be in a world of pain if I are a slice of bread, let alone a sandwich. We are both doing well, but while my blood work was great, she had Iron and Vitamin deficiencies. I take my supliments religiously, like I used to have to take my diabetes, blood pressure and cholesterol meds. (I'm off all of them, now, btw). She never had to take regular medications for chronic diseases, so she's not used to following orders now for Vitamins and supliments. But, I still love her, she is my everything, and I don't care if she doesn't lose as much weight as I do, I will always love her the same!

    OMG! Bought to go 5K'n!

@@OregonTeacher, I used to hate running, even though I wished I could. I used to watch people running, and wanted to be them. Now I am one of them. I'm 5 month out, had my surgery on Dec 3rd. Give it time, the lbs will drop off, and you will be a new person, capable of doing anything you want to do. I strongly recommend C25K, there are a few different ones in the app store, I used zenlabs, but I don't think it matters, just find something to help motivate yourself. You CAN do anything you put your mind to.

My wife and I called them "Food Funerals". Had some between insurance approval and pre-surgical diet. Best was Cracker Barrel breakfast with country fried streak, biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs and hash brown casserole... the thought of eating that much food in one sitting is disgusting now, but my old stomach sure did love it! :-)

    Protein....I need help

Isn't the clear liquid phase only like a week? The most important thing is to start getting your water intake up, so you don't get dehydrated. I just checked my food journal, and I lived on sugar free ice pops and strained vegetable soup. Strained soups tasted so much better than broth, and my dog loved the veggies mixed in with his food... lol. Is there a reason why you can't do whey based protien? I was drinking 2 4oz shakes a day, would take almost an hour to get one down, but it wasn't that bad. 6 months post surgery, and now I hate protien powder, I get my protien from greek yogurt now. Good luck with your recovery, you'll do great! Congratulations on the new you!
  10. I used the pain meds in the hospital, but not so much once I got home. I even went to my daughter's chorus concert like two hours after I got home from the hospital. (About 36 hours after surgery) you'll do fine with the pain, my one piece of advice is to pee right before they start to prep you for surgery. I didn't, and they wouldn't let me get up for a couple of hours after I woke up, seriously needed to pee, but no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't pee in a bed pan for the life of me. .. lol
  11. Wbc is 3.1, (normal is 4.0 - 10.5) and platelets are 136 (normal is 140-350)
  12. My wbc and platelets were both low... I'm trying not to freak out... got my results by email from lab, doctor tomorrow, not the surgeon who ordered the cbc, but my family doctor. Hope he can shed some light on it. I hear low wbc and platelets, and I immediately think leukemia... hopefully it's nothing... stupid internet... lol

C25K is awesome. I'm almost ready for my first 5K, and there's no way I could have done it without it.

My wife is scared and nervous

My wife and I got sleeved on the same day, December 3rd, 2014.I'm at my goal, she isn't, but she is finally seeing herself as thinner. We donated 5 garbage bags of clothes, from sizes 24 to 12. A few days ago, we spent the day shopping for summer clothes and had an awesome time! Life is getting better!

Never thought I'd consider cosmetic surgery

Congratulations! Mine is with my 9 year old daughter. I'm not sure if I'm going to have to go slow for her, or if she's going to tap into some 9 year old energy and I'm going to have to struggle to keep up with her... lol

    OMG! Bought to go 5K'n!

Is she in Girls On The Run? I have my first 5K with my daughter on May 28th. Been training with C25K, did Week 6 Day 3 today, ran 2.2 miles... thought I was gonna die, but felt so good when I was done!!!
  20. Wearing a 30x30 now. Never thought I would see a waist that matched my inseam!!!
  21. I was a 46x30, now I'm a 32x30! I started to have to wear a belt with my 32x30 jeans, maybe gonna drop one more size. 3 more pounds to lose and my BMI will say healthy, for the first time in 20+ years!

    April 28th getting sleeved!

I'm a restaurant manager, on my feet for 10+ hours a day, so I was out for 3 weeks.

    April 28th getting sleeved!

The first week was rough, slept alot, bit as long as you get rest, you can do stuff. I went to my daughters chorus concert 2 days after surgury, and a Christmas party like 4 days after it. I don't get hungry, but I do hey cravings for certain things. Strange, but I'm getting used to it. The most important thing is how great I feel now, off of all prestription meds, full of energy, loving life!!! CONGRATULATIONS on your decision to change your life!!!

Never thought I'd consider cosmetic surgery

So, this is gonna sound stupid, but...I bought a pair of compression pants, that feel great, and do hide the loose skin when I run at the gym, but I feel uncomfortable wearing them in public, so i wear sweat pants on top to cover them up. What is acceptable, wear them plain, under shorts, or keep wearing the sweats? I'm down from a 44" waist to a 32", from a XXL tshirt to a M, but I still feel like a fat kid trapped in a skinny body, still feel like everyone is looking at me, thinking 'What is that fat guy doing at the gym'.

    Tmi alert

The longer you wait, the worse it will be... I tried an herbal tea that was supposed to help, but found a smoothie at my gym that had coconut milk and shredded coconut did it for me. I was in an auto accident a few weeks after surgery, and they had me on percocets, so the combination of iron and pain killers seriously backed me up, so my case was a little different than most. Keep in mind that you are not eating what you used to eat, so your body will need to adjust a little. I used to go atleast 3 times a day, now I figure I'm doing good if I go every other day.
