  1. Hi everybody!! I have HealthNet and haven't had a problem.

    Thank God!

I was banded on 10/9/07, they paid for everything. My primary referred me and the referrals started pouring in after that.

I live on the West Coast and I work for the county in my city. I had to travel to USC to get my surgery but all was worth it. With all my struggles with the adjustment to eating smaller and being on liquids for the first 2 weeks after surgery I finally had my first post-op appt and was pleasantly surprised to have lost 33lbs!!!

I am so motivated by that alone! Good luck to all!:whoo:

    Jennifer

  2. Hi everyone! I too was a smoker and quit about 4mos prior to being banded on 10/9/07. I quit cold turkey and never missed it. Don't ask me how because my husband still smoked but went outside to smoke when I quit.

I tried to lose 15-20 lbs before the surgery but of course that didnt happen! I ate what I could. ha ha I did manage to lose 5lbs.

I was only given 1 day for the pre op liquid diet and I was like whoa! That was hard!

I'm still on a full liquid diet and can't wait for the mushys!

On a more serious note during my surgery my lungs collapsed, I'm not sure why or if its something that happens more times than not, but I had a hard time getting my lungs to go back to 100% capacity. So they kept me overnight in the hospital. I glad to say I have no urge to pick the habit back up. They never said why this happened but I think it was because I smoked for so long.

Try your best to quit so you won't encounter any problems.

I too feel as if I've given up everything that has ever given me pleasure, well not everything LOL. I try not to get sad about what I have given up though. I have my days. I do a lot of praying for strength. I also thank God for pulling me through surgery.

This is a great message board!

    Good luck to all!!!

  3. Wow Jenn. I was also banded on 10/9/2007 but I still feel a bit groggy and will not return to work until next Monday. You are doing GREAT!

Hi Pepper10! You got banded the same day as me! I hope you are doing good. I'm a little nauseous this morning but I hope that will pass with me starting full liquids today. Good Luck!

  4. You guys can beat your sweet cheecks that this girl will be at the mircowave at exactly 11:30am next Thursday for something other soup!:hungry:

I have never in my life wanted a scrambled egg so darn bad. I'm not hungry I'm just over this 14 days liquid. I'm so grumpy! Grrrrrrr

Jen I'm jealous you went to work. I attempted to go to work today and it was not good. I have a pretty large sales territory and the driving is really proving to more difficult than I thought. I had to put the Superwoman cape away again as my belly really hurts this evening. I worked for 3 hours and came home and slept for 2.5.

Spoke to my boss I'm not going back until after my first follow-up on Monday. I have so much time I really don't know why I'm rushing except DAYTIME TELEVISION STINKS!

I went to work, but by 3pm I was slowing down big time. I get off at 4pm so it worked out. I have a desk job and live really close to work so it was a little easier to manage. :o Im resting this weekend so I can try it again on Monday. Thanks for the response!

  5. You all don't realize how great reading all this has made me feel. I'm excited but at the same time I'm like what the heck have I done. I was banded on 10/9/07 and I'm back to work today 10/11/07. I just couldn't sit at home anymore. I don't have pain and the gas is finally passing. I laughed at the Jello bann! I second that!
