  1. Hi Lovingdavid!

Yes!!! I too had my sleeve on July 30, 2014! At first, it took some great adjustments (getting use to quantity of foods, etc). Doing really well now. Exercise in gym 2 to 3 times a week. I am a slow loser (weight), but I lost over 70 lbs! I will visit my bariatric team later this month for my one year anniversary! Hope you are doing well!

  2. Hi Mizzpuddinpie,

First, CONGRATS making a life changing decision! Most of us who started out on this journey have questioned ourselves. .."what was I thinking? "...but believe me your days normally gets BETTER! The pain is normal to the adjustment of the new you. Give yourself time to heal. Your eating right now should be liquids/liquids/liquids! Contact your medical team if you questions/concerns. I wish you the best!

  3. Not that you are doing this, but PLEASE never compare yourself to the person's before or after your surgery. At times, we can get the same mentality of when we go to the gym...When the person next to us is "running" on the treadmill and we are "walking". We can become frustrated because they can move quicker than ourselves. It gets better as the months move on. We all have our unique stories. As the saying goes, "It doesn't matter how you started, but how you finish". You are doing great!!

  4. Hi Newlife@55! (Love the name by the way). Congrats with making the decision to "walk this journey" with your hubby! I too am doing the same. I had my sleeve done on July 31, 2014. I feel great! Much better than before. Don't get me wrong there are STILL some obstacles I have to overcome...but for the most part I feel better! Currently lost 60lbs! My husband will be having his procedure sometime in March. A journey we too will walk together. The best of luck to you both!

  5. Hello,

It is awesome (at this stage) that you lost 20lbs.!! :) You stated that you will make a f/u appt. with your surgeon. That's great so he/she can see your healing progress. However, you do want to meet with a nutritionist to get great advise, as to what your daily eating habits are...and should be. That appt. (NUT) will give you better understanding, as to what is head hunger and real stomach hunger. Good luck! :)
