Thank you everyone, for your kind words!

Greetings, bandsters! I have lost 43 pounds and four inches off my waist and hips. I had my band over a year ago. Before Band (BB), I had been diagnosed with being "resistant to weight loss" . Is that even a thing? Well, I worked really hard, but it wasn't enough. All the doctors I went to said some people are just like that.
So when I took matters into my own hands and saw Dr. Ren, she said that it would be slow and that a reasonable goal would be 165 (down from the 209 I was!). Well, here I am, 166 and thrilled every day! I will keep at it because, well, who knows? I am just so pleased with the whole experience, except maybe the barfing. And then the post barf belly irritation. Ah, band life.
I'm going to keep going since my knees are being totally replaced this year, and I can't wait! Soon I will be able to return to my Kung Fu (hence my name), my Lion Dancing (hence my photo), and really kill it in my oriental Middle Eastern Dance (hence the "after" photo). I regret nothing about this journey, and would encourage all others to do the same. After my knees become bionic, and my weight loss I will be unstoppable! I'm going to try to lose extra before the surgery so I don't freak over the inevitable gain from bing immobile.
CANT WAIT!

Wow, I also have hit this point recently with my last fill. My fitness app has been telling me that I'm not eating enough, but I feel fine. I know I'm fine because when I don't eat enough my sugar drops and I get dizzy/confused/grumpy, and that's not happening.

Before and current!

Well, it still can't hurt to get a second opinion. Swimming is good, so is tai chi.

I think you should see another orthopedist, one who specializes in athletes, you know, people who won't stop activity. It can't hurt!

See another doctor! I too have osteoarthritis and will have both my knees totally replaced next year when I am 43. I do tai chi, Kung fu, and middle eastern dance. Yes, it hurts.
You MUST see a sports orthopedist! Get a second and third opinion. Total rest is actually going to make it worse.
I also get orthovisc shots.

Go back to your doc and get some taken out! Being too tight can cause swelling!
-
Wow! This is me too! I was at a great clip, and now I'm bouncing around the same 3 pounds! I was over tightened at the end of Decmber, so I don't think I need an adjustment. I'm trying to not freak out...

You have become so good at pacing yourself that you don't overeat at a wedding, but your husband with a normal stomach does!
-
Update: not only am I feeling so much better, I managed to get through my friend's wedding without over eating, and I lost half a pound since the re-adjustment!
Don't suffer being too tight!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Whew!
I went to the office at 8am, they saw me right away and withdrew 1cc. Immediately I was able to drink Water without an atomic bubble rising up as the Water went down.
The RN said that it isn't good to wait if you are too tight because swelling increases. I can't believe how much better I feel so quickly!
Thanks for your support!

Greetings, Bandsters,
I just had an adjustment yesterday (Monday), and began to experience gurgling. At first I thought I was adjusting, since it seemed that most of my Fluid was actually in the tubing, rather than the band, I got a little more Fluid to bring me up to a true 4.5 cc.
Well, all night I had tremendous back gas pain, such reflux that I was breathing with my mouth open, and finally threw up some clear liquid. Earlier, I had managed to get some Soup down, but today even getting Water down is causing discomfort. I'm not going to my dance class tonight for fear of dehydration.
I called my RN who did the fill, and he says I'm too tight. I will go in tomorrow (Wednesday) to have some removed.
Unpleasant!

I was 209 lbs in my before picture, and 180 in my "progress" picture! Proud to say that today I am 178lbs! I have returned to performing and am so thrilled about this journey! I love seeing everyone's success!
