All packed Chrissy! I don't have little ones at home so I have it easier than you. If you lived closer I'd come clean your house for you
I've been nesting all weekend. Laundry, scrubbing floors, changing linens etc...can you believe it's tomorrow??

Chrissy72w! We're tomorrow!
We got ghis! Are you prepared? House clean? Bag packed?

I did the same thing! My surgery is tomorrow and my house us sparkling!
I love cleaning so it made it easy.
I cleared the walkways too, just to make it simple getting to and from the bathroom/kitchen.

2 more days until my surgery. Up until this very moment I thought I was prepared but now I'm not so sure. Feeling anxious. Had my pre op appt. on friday. I've lost a total of 47.5 lbs prior to my surgery (I started the pre op diet on January 1st so that my new eating habits would be just that...A habit).
Haven't eaten any sugar, bad carbs, fast food, caffeine or alcohol since then. My doc said no liquid diet is necessary and the nurse asked me if I'd talk at one of their seminars. They were both shocked (and happy) with the amount of pre op weight I've lost. I guess I just feel kind of alone in this...I've worn this body Armore for so long, not sure what to expect when it's gone.
Tell me my concerns are normal?
I'm really freaking out right now...

I'm August 5th too! It's all I think about too...hoping I'm well enough prepared. Let's be surgery buddies?
We can text each other for support

August 5th here!
Cleaning the house today in preparation...did a food haul yesterday and went crazy in Daiso! If anyone else is obsessed with cute little containers, things that are asian inspired, and all things PINK! You MUST get to a Daiso near you.
I do believe I'm completely prepared for the 5th...
Holy c*ap! 9 days away!!

hang in there Jessicavtec1...
One day at a time...

Thank you VSGAnn!
Yeah, I thought if I gave up all sugar, fast food, carbs, soda and alcohol during my 6 month medically supervised diet, then it wouldn't be so difficult after the surgery...
9 days to go!! So excited!

Thank you...I have my daughter coming over to help me for the first few days after I get home from the hospital. I am going to clean the house the weekend prior, do the laundry and prep my kitchen. I still can't believe it's only 10 days away! Thanks for your input...you've all been my saving grace

Great advice...thank you so much for responding

My surgery is scheduled for August 5th and I'm wondering if I'm really prepared. Care to share what you think would be helpful in regard to planning?

Hey everyone...
What's an NSV?

Update!
Started my pre op diet today...funny thing is though...I've been eating this way since January 1st. I thought for sure I would have to do a 2 week liquid diet?
I'm doing 2 shakes and 1healthy meal a day for 14 days. Anyone else doing this?
I'm sooooo excited about the surgery but to be honest...I don't know if I'm more excited about the time off that I get for recovery?!
I haven't had a vacation in 14 years so yeah...I'm pretty dang happy.
Just wanted to share...I love reading all of your posts on here...had really helped me prepare...

hi...your boss doesn't have the right to know what type of surgery you're having unless you tell him. It's all up to you. Your dr. Can fax him a statement letter stating that your having surgery and wil. Be out for ------ weeks. They won't say what type of surgery you're having. I hope this helpsSo! I finally broke the ice and told my boss Im having surgery early August. I didnt tell him I was getting sleeved instead my dumb ass says I have a bad stomach ulcer. He was very understanding but at the end of the conversation he tells me to make sure on the doctors note it has a diagnosis since Im taking so much time off. Wtf! Now I feel dumb for lying I shouldve just said it was personal but in the same breath im like.. fuck it, if he finds out, he finds out. (Sorry for the profanity) but now im thinking doesnt that violate the HIPPA law? Do I really have to have a diagnosis or is he just being nosey? Input anyone?

Thank you for your response! Congrats to you! I got my date today...my surgery is set for the 5th of August! That's in 3 weeks...OMG!First of all congratulations! I know the feeling! I am 7days out and it's the best decision I've ever made. Well, where do I stArt....first I had to complete a 2 week pre-op diet, which was 2-3 Protein Shakes and one meal but all doctors are different but just in case I would start sampling some Protein shakes. Also, I found that having my husband and boys with me was helpful, especially because I live in a two-story. Also, I find getting in and out if bed and shower was hard the first couple of days. I was really sore and in pain....BUT I DONT REGET A THING,!!
I've been drinking Protein Drinks daily since January so that's the easy part I'm taking time off of work, so I'll be applying for disability...I think that makes me nervous...don't like being strapped for cash...

Hello everyone...
Newbie here...I came home from a business trip to find my APPROVAL letter in the mail! So excited...hopefully will get a surgery date tomorrow.
Ok, my stats...I'm 49 years old and 5'2".
On January 1st I weighed myself. 273.5 yikes! That same day I gave up all carbs, alcohol, sweets, caffeine and fast food. I've been eating healthy ever since. I have lost 41 lbs on my own. Went through the 6 month supervised weight loss plan, psych evaluation, nutritionist appointments etc...had my 6 month weigh in on June 19th. Weighed 232 so yay me!
Got my approval letter in the mail today, and am hoping to get a surgery date tomorrow.
The 6 months FLEW by. I stayed busy, stayed focused and did my research. So excited to be moving forward on my journey...
Any advise from any of you on here's regarding how best to prepare for my surgery and my recovery? I live alone, but my daughter lives close enough to be of help.
Help?

Just got home from the hospital. A 5 night stay as opposed to the 2 day that was promised. Just wanted to update everyone who has wished me well. Speak to your surgeons about nausea and what can be done to avoid it.5 unbearable days in the hospital has me regretting this.
Best of luck to those of you heading towards the lovers bench...
