  1. I'm waiting for insurance approval, but I am scheduled for November 18. I am excited and nervous at the same time. A few years ago I started the process of getting a band, but I lost so much weight in the months leading up to it that I canceled. Of course I eventually gained most of it back. That makes me very sure that this is something I need to do. Now I just want to get it over with!

@@L2me did you get approval? On for the 18th? That's my date

  2. I am new to BP. This is my first post. I just got my insurance approval last week. I started my pre op diet yesterday. My final appt is Friday and my surgery is scheduled for Nov 11th! :) I am so excited and nervous. The nervousness didn't start until I knew my approval date. I didn't expext surgery to be scheduled 2 weeks after the approval. ..i figured it would be two months out scheduling. The next date available was Dec 23rd. So I assume someone cancelled. Only 13 days!!!

I was excited, then had a bit of panic when I received the phone call with my date (11/18) as it was about six weeks out,so I can imagine how you feel.

  3. This is the recipe my cousin sent me that she's going to use for it :) congrats on getting your date! 19 more days for us!! Yayy!!! Are you super excited??

excited, anxious...trying to get postoperative foods and supplements in order. Also swapping out winter clothes (Massachusetts) and ambivalent about packing up big summer clothes vs donating right now. I want to believe that I will never need them again.

  4. Yeah I know what you mean! It is going to be extremely hard in the beginning, we just have to stick through it! :) lol and to have this right before Thanksgiving is hard! Luckily, some of my family has gone through the surgery and they are extremely supportive of it :) my cousin who had her sleeve done last year in June said she's going to make me a pumpkin spice Protein Shake that she came across and she said the numbers are really good and healthy enough to have after surgery so I'm very appreciative that they are able to help make the transition a lot smoother than what I expected!

Honestly my only real biggest fear with this surgery is going to be the loose, baggy skin. A lot of people have said since I'm younger that my skin will less likely be baggy. Other than that I'm super excited to have my surgery and I can't wait to be on the losers bench!

please share that pumpkin spice Protein shake recipe

  5. Hi chicogirl3 My surgery is scheduled for 11/18/14. I was really surprised by the anxiety avalanche I experienced after getting off the phone with the surgery coordinator...especially since I have been working toward getting a date since last March. I have re-examined my motives and my anticipated journey over the next few months and years and I am ready. Having a few November sleeve buddies will be very welcome.
