Have you contacted your doctor? For me the first few days was only liquids, and I did pretty good with that. However, when I started on the soft foods is where I started to feel sick all the time. My food would get stuck even though I followed my doctor's advise on the type of food to eat and to chew chew chew..
I did go to my doctor after 4 weeks post op and he found a narrowing of my stomach pouch which was causing all this discomfort. If the problem persist then please contact your doctor and let him/her know,
Hope you feel better soon.

I had my surgery on 7/16 and still have issues with meats, chicken and fish, even tuna fish. I finally called my surgeon and he had me come into the office this morning to do a EDG. The test showed that the opening to my stomach was very tight. So tomorrow morning I will have to do the procedure again but this time they will have a balloon to inflate to stretch the opening. He said this should help,
Since the day I started soft foods, like you, it would get stuck and then I would puke it all. I have been mostly on liquids, mainly Protein shakes,
Call your doctor, you maybe experiencing the same problem that I have,
Good Luck.

I have the same problem...it is so hard to keep taking all these pills. Not only that, but they are so big and taste awful

I have this constantly. So I went to my surgeon today who did a EDG. My stomach pouch has a very small opening, Tomorrow at 8am I will go in for another EDG where they will inflate a balloon to help open my pouch, I'm hoping this will help cause it's so hard to be on liquids.

Wow, so sorry you are going through this, I am experiencing something close to what you are having except that I can keep liquids down. It seems like solids is something my stomach can not tolerate at this time. I called my doctor and they said I have an inflammation in my pouch, They gave me a prescription so I'm hoping this will help.
Good luck with your procedure. Praying for healing.
Keep us posted,

After my 7/16 RNY surgery I drunk my Premier Protein shake..chocolate. Has a great taste too. Of course I would drink Water with crystal light and I made homemade chicken Soup without the chicken of course, It's better than the broth you buy from the stores.

I believe it's around 800. My doctor didn't really give me a number, but from what I have read you should be fine. Call you Nut. she/he can give you the correct amount for you,

I just started on soft foods. Surgery date 7/16. There are days where I can barely eat and then there are days that I am so hungry. I believe that if you feel hunger you may be short on Protein or Water, so I have been paying close attention to that. Also, keeping busy really helps take your mind off food,
Good luck.

No, I have had 2 C-section, a gall bladder removed in the past with no post op infections. Also I had my RNY on 7/16 with no complication. My doctor gave me a special liquid soap to wash with the night before and the morning of the surgery. It's called Scrub Stat by Ecolab that is supposed to help with infections, Ask your doctor if he has this available for you.
I used it every time I took a shower when I got home from the hospital. I have healed really nicely,
Also, when you are in the hospital, remember to wash your hands often, and try not to touch your incisions.
Hopes this helps. Good luck, hope you have a speedy recovery.

I believe that you have the right to keep it to yourself besides it's none of their business. I just had my RNY on 7/16 and I feel great. I feel better than I have felt in a long time. So do it for you and don't worry about what others may say, You are going to love the way you feel and you deserve that chance.
Good luck.

Hi, I had my RNY on July 16th. I feel great and will be starting to eat a little bit more this week. I will see my doctor tomorrow for my 2week post op.
I know you must be getting excited. I know I was but I was also scared. But everything went so well and was in the hospital for only an overnight,
Good Luck

Hi I had my RNY on 7/16 and today was the first day that I felt the need for a bowel movement. It was extremely painful and unproductive.
I drank some Mag.Citrate which helped a little but I feel like I can not get relief. Is anyone else experiencing this? Have you found a solution. Need advise. thanks

I did but I used a pillow on my side that I would sleep on and worked great for me, I am now 9 days post-op with very little pain and now I can sleep without the pillow,
Hope this helps.

Hi, I had my BNYBP on 7/16, I'm still on leave as of today, My doctor suggested 6 weeks, and honestly I am so glad he did.
I started experiencing pain in my chest pain after eating, vomiting, Constipation, and the foamies. I went to my doctor who did a EGD in the office (painful) he found my pouch's opening was tight, this was the cause of my problems. Today I had another EGD this time I was out and they were able to inflate the opening, So far I am feeling a whole lot better.
Like everyone else it seems, I still need a nap in the afternoons. SO what I am saying is you can plan for 2 weeks or more but in reality it is going to depend how you are going to feel. I'm glad I took the 6 weeks, it helped me so far.
Good luck with your decision.
By the way I am scheduled to go back to work on 9/2.
