  1. Lol!!!! This made me giggle that's awesome you and him are doing this together!
  2. Hi Yvonne! How.did the surgery go? I believe you had it today hope it went smoothly!
  3. Im pre op yet (I have surgery next wednesday the 30th of July!) But I have made a list of a couple promises to myself to keep throughout all this and thought I'd share and see if anyone else had something similar. 1- I promise to never call myself fat, not now, not in the future, not when looking at old pictutes, never. Im committing to this promise for a couple reasons. One being a positive outlook. Instead of calling myself fat I am going to say look at all the awesome changes I've made since then reason two being- when I call myself fat someone else is comparing my comment to theirself which can inadvertently be hurtful. My sister is rail thin and would always say she looked fat when we were hanging out. I dont ever want to put that feeling on another person. Focusing on actions and changes not all numbers I feel will help me long term. (By will totally be excited about numbers too! I just dont want that to be my main focus). 2- I promise to seek support when I need it and be a support for others. I won't go back to old habits and if I feel I am slipping I will visit one of the awesome bariatric nurses, in person support groups, online forms like this
  4. Thats a lot of hard woek and changes, awesome job! You deserve every minute of awesomeness
  5. Congrats! Thats a whole lot of hard work! Great job
  6. My mom pushed out three of us and had rny in her lAter 40's. She lost over 150lbs and did have loose skin as the weight loss was fast but it all tightened up! She was lifting weights and using the elliptical and that helped a lot with the skin. She ended up looking too much weight and had to put on a couple pounds
  7. I dont have a long pre surgery liquid diet. I have one week before surgery which starts tomorrow to eat light and only the day (day before surgery) is liquids only. I've noticed anything more salty i will retain more Water. My surgeon said the same thing. Main thing is to shrink the liver
  8. Im so excited for you!! I wish you a successful surgery and healthy recovery
  9. My insurance never covered the surgery. I went to the information session knowing it was an exclusion. I am self paying for the surgery. I have been working withe the billing depts. at the hospital. They are wonderful and have allowed me to set up payment plans. I still had to have a down payment and pay for all the appts leading up to my surgery next week. There are different charges too (surgeon, anesthesia md, nurse anesthetist, and hospital stay. They are working on making it more streamlined. Not all hope is lost check out self pay. I've been getting some discounts for self pay too. ,
  10. My surgery is scheduled for the 30th and I just got done grocery shopping for items for discharge I'm super pumped!! First part of my plan is to be on a liquid diet for 3weeks. The first 10 days is Clear liquids only. On the 10th day I can move to other liquids as tolerated by my body. This is what I got: - chicken broth stock low sodium - tomato Soup to be diluted - creamy Soups to be strained - sugar free target brand fruit punch mix packets - 100% Vegetable juice for the Vitamins - sf propel drink mix packets - inst. carnation Breakfast - body fortress Protein shots <--- these are awesome. It's Liquid Protein 27grams in a small little 3oz. Tube Anyone else find liquids that worked well and want to share? I'm looking for items to mix up. I have a few protein choices, a vegetable choice. I wanted to get diet v8 splash however the target near me doesn't sell the diet brand anymore.
  11. I'm excited for you!! Keep us posted that's tomorrow already! I'd be so excited I couldn't sleep.
  12. I'm sure you're upset and for sure wondering what's going on with the weight loss. My mom stalled but was loosing inches. Maybe it would help the nerves by switching focus from pounds lost to how great of a job you are doing each day by sticking to your guidelines and exercise, and making heathy choices. I'm sure you're already doing this though keep up you're awesome work! You're body will heal up and things will start balancing out too. You've done a lot to get to where you are now keep that hard work flowing forward
  13. What steps do you have left?
  14. Awesome! I wish you a smooth t rd addition into the next steps
  15. I ended up having 4 psych appts. One for inital meeting and gathering of history, second appt. for testing, third appt for going over results and my progress in general, final appt. was to make sure I was ready and give me the green light because I had told him that I needed more time to get some of the eating habits done more. From the time of my first seminar, all the appts with nutritionist, psych, bloodwork, and surgeon to my surgery date (which is in two weeks on July 30th) It will be 3 months. Be truthful during those appts. it's all for the best and to help with a successful outcome
