  1. That's awesome that you already have a surgery date!! I'm down 16 lbs since July 9th, or down 10 from my first dietician visit on July 22nd. I'm supposed to lose 25 lbs before surgery.
  2. I can wait to get to find a new passion (though cycling is already a passion and I've already done 75 mile rides). First off, getting from pre-op to post-op.
  3. I can only imagine. It seemed to take forever to get from the seminar to my first appointment, but it seems to be going quickly since then! Though the multiple appointments have made it go fast...
  4. Saying it's only 30 days from Sept 7th makes it sound SO much sooner (at least to me )! I can't wait until I have a definite date...
  5. Agreed!! Though I'm sure it'll be here before we know it!!
  6. Eh, I'm not in love with the dress itself, but you look great in it!!
  7. Physical, bloodwork, and EKG.
  8. Had my second dietician visit yesterday. She said that by the next time I see her (9/30), I will have all of my other insurance requirements met already. We will set a tentative surgery date and will schedule a meeting with the surgeon (in October).
  9. I just made this for lunch. We didn't have any soy sauce, so I used worsteshire sauce and I used olive oil rather then vegetable oil. AMAZING!!
  10. Yep, I did pre-cook the crust before putting the toppings on. The edges were crispy but the middle never crisped up. It tasted fine, I just had to eat it with a fork.
  11. I tried making cauliflower pizza this past weekend. It tasted fine, though I wish the cauliflower crust would have crisped up just a bit more. It didn't hold together, so I had to eat it with a fork.
  12. I'm frustrated with my local gym options, so I'm thinking about buying a treadmill for at home. That will also allow me to work out when my husband is gone and I don't have anyone to watch the kids. Can anyone recommend a good brand to look for?
  13. I have read about people making ice cubes out of pickle juice... You get the flavor and the crunch. I'm still very early in the pre-op process though, so I don't know if that would be surgeon approved.
  14. Sarah562007 - this is the thread.
  15. Awesome! I need to lose 25 before my surgery too. Thankfully, my insurance doesn't have the 6 month requirement. I think it's just one thread for MN. Let me see if I can figure out how to post a link.
  16. Awesome! I think there's someone in either Blaine or Champlin. There are only a handful of us from MN. Where are you at in the process? I'm just getting starting, hoping for surgery in Nov/Dec.
  17. Where are you at in MN? I'm up in the St Cloud area.
  18. I'm in MN. There is a thread on the US Local Chapters for the MN folks. I haven't met any of the others from here yet. I'm fairly new.
  19. Had the first part of my psych eval this morning. It consisted of chatting with the psychologist for about 15 minutes and discussing my eating/exercise habits, weight history, and any health issues. He actually seemed surprised at how healthy I am. I said I was making it too easy (no health issues, don't smoke, don't drink pop, only a little caffeine, etc). Then I spent about 90 minutes doing the MMPI-2 (Minnesota Multiphasic Personality something). It consisted of 567 true/false questions, on a bubble form with a #2 pencil. Ha! I go back in a month to see how I'm doing and to review the results of the questionnaire. He said it should only take about 30 minutes. So far, so good!
  20. I won't be able to make it on the 20th, as I'll be on vacation. I hope to join you at some point in the future though!
  21. I do have both apps on my phone. I'll have to see if my walking app will let me access them while walking.
  22. An anyone recommend any good podcasts to listen to while working out? I really enjoy working out, but I get bored!! I can only listen to the music on my phone just so many times...
  23. That sounds like a good choice if it's continuing to cause you problems! Good luck!
  24. Nope, not yet. It will likely be mid-Nov/mid-Dec.
  25. I'm 31 yrs old and my highest was 272, but I'm still in the pre-op phase. I'm also married with two kids, so I don't really fit the demographic you're looking for. I'm curious what the others in our age group have to say about the skin issue though.
