    March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD

Nope. I have aftercare set up here locally. Dallas isn't that far away and maybe once hubby and I fully recover we might can do a weekend in Dallas or something. I definately want to meet! Girl! I wish. It is since last Monday when I started my pre-op diet.
  3. Ah! Wouldn't most surgeons not cover the cost of a slip? Guess it depends on when the person in question was banded and if the slip was caused by the surgeon, person in question or none of the above eh?
  4. I was thinking the same thing MsPinky.....if it can remove my child's fake tattoos with ease, I am sure it will remove the goo.
  5. You wrote on another thread that this same Dr. asked you to come back for him to fix it. How is that not helping?

I Want My Band Removed Now!!!!!

I haven't read the PO admit that at all. The only thing she stated was she saw her doc, he won't take it out for 3 months and that she is feeling a little better since beginning solids. The OP also posted a similar thread before she was banded stating she had feelings that she fears she would regret getting the band when she is not able to eat the foods she loves to eat. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f84/scared-about-actual-surgery-52695/#post729320 I don't feel whimsy was trying to smack anyone down. She was stating a valid point. Getting any elective surgery comes with doing your research and the OP went into this knowing this was a lifestyle change, one that is not easliy reversed. Whimsy simply asked questions that many more were already asking.

Sapphire, Please check with your doc about the ibprofen. Mine says none because it irritates the stomach. Just looking out for ya!

    March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD

I think this is also my biggest problem right now. I try putting pillows under my belly to lie on my side or a bunch behind my head if lying on my back. I toss and turn all night long trying to get comfortable. I have almost decided that I will start sleeping on the couch since it seems to be the most comfortable place. LOL. On a brighter note, we leave for Dallas again tomorrow afternoon for my DH surgery. I might sleep better in the hotel.

Not to mention one should be open to constructive criticism if they are indeed going to dole it out. Hmmmmm...wonder if chocolate has more fat than cheese?:tt2:

I agree with the piece of chicken thing and Fenton we will just have to agree to disagree. I feel splurging on a pinch of cheese is irrelevent in the grand scheme of things. Deprivation leads to gluttony later on. Let's all face it. We have been there before or we wouldn't be where we are now. The key is quantity. Anywho...don't want to go off on a long rant. Just wanted to respond. To each their own. :huh2: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f9/when-you-have-craving-what-do-you-do-55078/#post755446

Yeah I get bored pretty easily with eating the same thing and with being on 5 weeks of full liquids, I am trying to come up with different ideas.

    Docters in Dallas?

I was banded by by Dr. Cribbins. He was wonderful. My DH will be banded by him this Friday. I have heard alot of good things about his partner Dr. Hamn as well.

    March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD

LOL Glad to see I am not alone. I just got back from going to the store and got some liquid Gas X. Took one. Not too much relief. Oh well. Some day I hope. I tried the spaghetti sauce with ricotta cheese. I added a pinch of shredded italian cheeses YUM! Definately glad to find something different. It got me to thinking about other things. So I grabbed a can of fat free refried Beans, enchilada sauce, light sour cream and some shredded cheese and going to make some sort of "soup" out of that. Don't know if it will taste good but we will see. Will keep ya posted.

Glad your experience is better than mine, because I can't burp and feel like I have to 80% of the time. Guess each one of us has their own unique experiences. :confused2:

for liquids, because I know this is going to help others who are going to be on full liquids sooner or later. Protein shakes-chocolate only. Can't tolerate any other flavor. (Adding a tablespoon of Peanut Butter adds a nice twist) oatmeal Potato soup-recipe above SF Jello SF Jello pudding (bought it, haven't had it yet) Special K Protein Water Gatorage G2 Yogurt broth for like one day but had no flavor to me so I strained regular Soups with a clear base when on Clear Liquids. Strained gumbo one night. SO GOOD compared to the broth. Today was only my first day of full liquids so I am sure I will be getting more creative as the days tic by.:sneaky:

Ha! Ironic. I was telling my hubby I should go buy a cheeseburger and blend it in some Water. LMAO. Doesn't sound as appetizing once the words come out of your mouth.

    March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD

I was just thinking the same thing. I LOVE spaghetti (one of my favs!) adn this sounds like a good alternative. Kinda like lasangne without the noodles. I am going to run to the store in the morning and pic that up. My mom made me some potato Soup tonight which was to DIE FOR. LOVED IT. You just cubed potatoes and put chopped onion and celery in the Water while its boiling. Once it has cooked you mash the potatos in the water and add some milk. Really good. I am stuffed! (which doesn't take much.) I was thinking of getting Wendy's chili and blending it. Didn't know how that would taste, but I love Wendy's chili. Everyone keep the ideas coming...because over 5 weeks I am bound to get bored. What does cream of wheat or rice taste like? I have never had it. The yogurt I had was apple turnover flavored(light) and tasted awesome.

    Meet the March Bandsters!

LOL. I agree. Maybe a few months down the road we can get together. It's only a 4 hr trip which isn't that far.

    Meet the March Bandsters!

Thanks! Nice to "meet" you too! You and your DH look like a fun couple. Looks like I will be back in Dallas this week for my DH to get his surgery on Friday. It's a go! Maybe we should move back. LOL.

Right now I am really not that hungry. I had some pretty soupy oatmeal for Breakfast which I got no where close to finishing and a yogurt for lunch with Water and gatorade in between, otherwise....really didn't want it to begin with but I know I need the nutriants. How about you? What are you eating?

    March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD

I wouldn't have done that just for the simple fact that eating something with solids in it makes your stomach start moving to digest. My surgeon said he wanted the lap band to heal into place with the stiches and scar tissue before attempting solids, which is why the liquid diet. You may not have done any damage this time, but glad to hear you aren't going to do it again. Stick to the doctors orders! They wouldn't lead you wrong! :sneaky:
