  2. Help!! I had my sleeve surgery 13 days ago and all of a sudden the palms of my hands are itchy constantly and are driving me crazy!!! There is no rash. I have always used hand lotion and my hands aren't dry......Anyone going through this??????
  3. My sleeve surgery was 11 days ago. I've had diarrhea issues for years due to IBS (irritable bowel syndrome). For about a year now, I have been taking probiotics, as recommended by my Gastroenterologist, with miraculous results. After surgery I didn't take it for several days and I had raging diarrhea until I started again. My bowels have been normal ever since starting to take them.Persistent diarrhea disturbs the normal flora in the intestines which causes the diarrhea. I take either Culturelle or Align (both are over the counter, rotating between the two. After finishing one box of either the Culturelle orAlign, I switch to the other. I found that to be the most way. They are less expensive at Walmart or online. Hope this helps someone!
  4. What is the protein with 50 grams? My surgery was 11/30 and it's been a real struggle to get 65-80 grams of protein in
  5. I' m so upset. My surgery was scheduled for Nov.9 but I received a call this morning that it has to be cancelled. Per my doctor's office, my insurance company will not approve the surgery because the hospital is not a "Center of Excellence". My insurance is Blue Cross Blue Shield (Anthem).......Extremely frustrated. Anyone else had this problem?????

    November Sleevers

Mine is also November 30th. I'm on clear liquids now for the next 2 days and then it's time. I am starting to get nervous - haven't been until now! Good luck! where are you from?
  7. There are only 2 hospitals in MD that BCBS will approve - St Agnes and GBMC. I tried to get an exception from BCBSvbut they would not do it. I got all my records transferred and they scheduled me right away. My surgery is Monday....I am very impressed with their whole program and Dr. Devoc is awesome. She is due to have a baby Christmas Day and will be taking off 2 months. They have 2 other surgeons though
  8. I I think Unjury is very good. I get the chocolate splendor - tastes like chocolate milk. Doesn't have that weird taste that some of the other protein shakes heve
  9. My insurance is BCBS - Anthem....Make sure you don't have the same insurance. They will only ape ospitals in my state - MD
  10. Yup, I'm scheduled for December 1st but my insurance hasn't approved it yet. I asked my surgical coordinator about it and she said the 2 weeks is plenty of time and they rarely have any issues with my insurance. I'm prepared for them to have to move it back but if they don't then I'm ready! I was told the same thing!
  11. Anyone go back to work after 1 week or is 2 weeks the norm?
  12. I'm 62 years old and 1 week away from surgery. Would love to hear both positive and negative feedback from people in my age bracket. One of my worries is that with a dramatic weight comes the possibility of looking older - maybe I'm just vain, but would love to hear from you!

  15. In some of the before and after pictures that I see, the person looks older. I'm 62 and worried about that
  16. I'm on a 1000 calorie pre-op diet and from what I see posted, most seem to be on a liquid diet. I'm wondering why?

    Surgery Nov 9th

I'm in MD and my surgery is also Nov 9th at 8:00 a.m. I've been reading some of the pre-op comments and it seems that a lot of people are on a liquid diet pre-op. I'm on a 1,000 calorie diet pre-op....I'm wondering, why the difference in protocol?
