Should I cancel my surgery? Help!

I would have the surgery done. If you can get others to help, until you are about three weeks post op, You will feel so much better while you are even beginning to lose the weight. Only you can decide what to do, that's just my opinion, hoping you make the right call for you!
  2. I am a year out, have lost 94 pounds, I feel different. I look different I wasn't unhappy before the sleeve but now I am very happy! I am no longer focused on me, I let my hair go white, Bought new clothes and I am told I carry myself with a confidence I have never had before. Only regret, why didn't I do this earlier.

  4. "It's important to condition your fast-twitch muscles because that's what keeps your body burning fat even when you aren't moving." Hi can you explain this to me? I have never heard of a fast twitch muscle before.

    Alcoholic beverages

I can drink wine no problem but I waited till a year out to drink a full glass of wine. With my meal, oops 20 minutes after my meal. No problem with it but the calories do add up.

I would like to introduce myself!

Hi what a great job losing all that weight. I was also sleeved in 2014. My date was July 14th. I am not there yet, have lost 92 pounds And I have severe back issues. But my health markers have improved incredibly. I still have issues with sugar, mostly the sweeteners. I have not let go of the sweet taste of things. So just putting that out there. Again congratulations on your weight loss. And welcome to Bariatric Pal!

    Addiction to all this ?

Hello Laguerr13, What a wonderful weight loss and life story you already have in such a short time. I think anything has the attraction of addiction if we focus on it . However your life changes and attitude are not seen as addictive behavior. I applaud your hard work dear Fellow sleever and look forward to following your continued progress. I was sleeved last July 14th So my anniversary is in just a day or so. I have lost 92 pounds bringing me to 191 In one year, close to my goal of 100 pounds but not quite there. I feel like a new person, my exercise has been low impact because I suffer from schlioses and spinal stenosis. However my endurance has improved and all of my health markers have improved. I am off all pain mess and NSAIDs, BP melds and my cPap machine. Things can only improve. I have made a FB page featuring salads and I try to post every salad I eat, for motivation to continue, since I am in a huge stall. But I have lost three sizes and feel more energy than I have in over 15 years. This is the new 60. Feels more like 50. Much encouragement to you, keep going and keep documenting your progress here, kudos laguerr13
  10. Hi I was sleeved July 14th, 2014 and have lost 90 pounds. If there is a birthday and I get a piece of cake. I may nibble on sweets for a couple of days and my weight will go up a pound. If I keep at it, And it goes up another pound I generally panic and start eliminating the foods I am unconsciously snacking on. It goes back down and I try and learn from it. We are not perfect. Most of us still wish we could eat an occasional muffin or cupcake, But we work it out.
  11. I often say yeah I eat really slow and then can I have this wrapped?
  12. I was not pre diabetic before surgery at 282. Now that I have lost 84 pounds I have tested as pre diabetic. How weird is that. What do those of you with high sugar do to combat this?
  13. I had a headache for about 5 weeks postop/ then i had another series of headaches about 5 months out. I know I wwas addicted to caffeine and sugar. I dont have headaches now unless I load up on sugar/ Hope that helps, its always good to tell your dr about these things, he is wellspring of information.
  14. I don't know if I could have been prepared enough for this surgery. wasnt prepared for feeling so out of it after surgery. I didnt miss sugar until just recently because now an excess of sugar makes me feel sick. I didnt feel sick after consuming sugar until I lost 83 pounds. Now my body cannot handle the sugar now. I am grieving that. But I never grieved the gross amount of food I used to eat I was glad to see that go. we are all so very different, and each new change prompts a unique change in each of us. please feel free to continue to share your struggles as it helps you and each one of us to learn more and to help each other. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
  15. It was suggested that I attend the support group at the Gym affiliated with the hospital where I was to have my surgery. My first meeting I ran into an old friend who was having the bypass done. Since another friend also chose to have the sleeve surgery, we have an instant support group. I found the group quite helpful. We were told that those of us just coming for support would be mentors to the newbies this time next year. I never forgot that. it was the best encouragement I have recieved so far.

    4 months out feeling nauseated

Hello Teachingkids, Congrats on your weight loss in just 4 months. I was sleeved July 14 so this is all still a learning process for me. I do get nauseous easily and my Dr sent me home with a script for Zophran which is n anti nausea tablet that melts under your tongue. there are also tums that are combo breath fresheners and also taste minty as well, they help too. This was one of my fears before surgery but I am coping. I also wonder if peppermint oil in warm tea might help you. Since surgery I cant stand the smell of coffee so that vice is gone forever Hope this helps a little.
