It's finals week...with out caffeine :o
I know it seems impossible, but you would be better off with more sleep and/or exercise than caffeine and sugar anyway. Best of luck with your finals.

Fatigue.... 5 months post op
Wow, your surgeon's instructions are completely counter to what my surgeon recommends. Make sure you are getting enough Protein and at least 64 ounces of fluids. My protein target is 100 grams a day. Two tiny meals and not enough protein is a recipe for disaster as far as I know. It sounds like you are experiencing fatigue because of it.

Binge eating and emotional eating
Are you seeing a counselor or therapist? Have you considered attending a 12-step recovery group like OA (OA.org)? When you get the urge to binge, look for something to do with your hands that will keep away from the food. Clean the toilet. Take a bath or shower. Take a walk. Call a friend. Write in a journal. Do needlework, knit, or crochet. Paint. Garden. Mop the floor. Have a good cry. Get a massage. Paint your nails. Prayer. Meditation. Go to a support group meeting. Go to Church. Take a class. Go to the gym. You can find help. You did the right thing by asking for help.

- How plus size stores rip us off!
Also, big box stores rely on cheap (i.e., practically slave) wages. I am trying to be cognizant of where the clothes I buy come from if possible. If something is ridiculously cheap, the reason is usually not very pretty.- 10 months out - Energy all of a sudden gone and sleepy... .
Are you getting enough Protein? Fluids? Carbs? Have you talked to your NUT? Maybe you are getting sick? The flu is late this year in the US.- What kind of questions should I ask?
The number one question is whether or not it is a bariatric center of excellence. If it is, it is probably posted everywhere. As you go through this process, it is a good idea to write down everything and keep a list of questions as they occur to you. Most good bariatric programs will address things like credentials, success rate, experience of the surgeon, etc. right off the bat. If you don't understand something, then ask, and keep asking until you are comfortable that you understand. Best of luck with your journey. BariatricPal is a great resource, but, your bariatric team should be your primary resource for information about your particular issues. Keep us posted on how you are doing.- Is it really that MUCH trouble!?

@@dcd1397, I was not trying to bash you but to address the choice of words you used. I understand completely if you did not realize that it is offensive, but now you, and anyone reading this thread is more aware.- Musings & Questions - mostly nutrition related
Boost is what is usually prescribed for anorexics so they can gain weight. In the first few weeks after surgery, your primary focus should be on getting in enough protein and fluids, calories are a secondary consideration. You will have so little room early out, getting enough protein and fluids is going to be hard enough. My surgeon suggested premier protein and other lower carb/sugar options.- haters gonna hate hate hate hate hate
I wasn't aware that we are using slurs like "retard" around here. Frankly, I find this very offensive. I normally would not respond to such ignorance, but today I am fed up with this kind of insensitivity. Please, please, I hope we all consider more carefully the words we choose to use in these forums. Quote edited by LipstickLady. Seeing the slur was making my blood boil.- Questions on the dreaded "3 week stall"
One thing I did early out that helped was to only weigh at doctor's appointments. Staying off the scale is a great way to help focus on following your program (which is what you can control) and not the numbers on the scale (which you cannot control). That sounds very low to me. Are you getting in all of your Protein? What is your protein target? Your calories are relative to your protein. Since my protein target is 100 grams, at 520 calories I wouldn't be eating anything but Protein shakes. Follow your program. Focus on getting in all of your protein and fluids, avoid added sugars, starches, and fried foods, and take your Vitamins and supplements as directed and your calories should fall into place. If in doubt, talk to your NUT. Embrace the Stall http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/351046-Embrace-the-Stall- Sleeve scheduled for 5/10 - scared about the liquid diet!
You can do it. Focus on what you CAN have instead of what you can't. You can do anything for a week!- Scale Won't Budge!
Stalls are a normal, natural, and necessary part of the process of losing weight. None of us lose at a constant or steady rate. We all experience stalls and slow downs and most of us experience a stall about three weeks after surgery, Just follow your program. Focus on getting in all of your Protein and fluids, take your Vitamins and supplements as directed, exercise when cleared and stay off the scale. I am finally getting to this thread. @@KindaFamiliar, you look great, even if you aren't smiling. I don't see your neck at all. What I want to know is how bad the ointment smells. This was the lead story on NPRs All Things Considered tonight. Interesting how a very small study, published in Obesity, that really doesn't tell us anything much that we don't already know (as far as I can tell) gets such a big media splash because of the reality TV connection. - How plus size stores rip us off!
