  2. You can also just get tap water at movies (which is what Dasani is anyway).
  3. I am not familiar with the post-op food plan for people with the balloon. Were you given a Protein target? Are you eating at least that much protein every day? Are you tracking your food? Are you drinking at least 64 oz of Fluid a day? Are you taking the recommended Vitamins and supplements? Are you exercising? What does your NUT recommend?
  4. Massage is my favorite self-care reward.
  5. I eat regular sour cream, cottage cheese, etc.
  6. Personally, I don't avoid fats for fats sake but post-op have found that some high fat cheeses and meats are a bit too strong for me. Foods that are naturally low in fat, or that have fat removed (like low fat dairy) are pretty standard for me. Foods that are "low fat" because they have added sugar, or even worse, high fructose corn syrup, I avoid like the plague. Post-op has been the first time in my life where I actually wanted to blot extra fat off of bacon!
  7. Punching in the air helps (and is great for stress relief)!
  8. I had surgery 6/13 sw 227 cw 175 and that was lost in the 1st 2 months now my 3rd month i havent seeb the scale move in 3 weeks i get 60 grams of protein per day i eat somewhere between 500-800 calories i drink about 60-70 oz Water and i work out 5 days a week burning about 400 or so calories each day i am happy about my lifestyle change just cant seem the shake this stall Sent from my SM-G935T using the BariatricPal App Both your protein and calories seem really low. I know it is counterintuitive, but not eating enough can slow your weight loss as much as eating too much.
  9. You can move. When I was pre-op and immobile, I got an exercise peddler and pedaled with my hands while watching tv. You could look for chair exercises. Are you allowed to swim?

  11. If you are going to let the numbers on the scale drive you crazy and dictate how you feel then please STAY OFF THE SCALE.
  12. I drink at least 1 Premier Protein drink a day (30 g) and eat mostly lean Proteins like poached eggs, fish, chicken or pork. I am having trouble with weakness/fatigue with physical activity (especially in the morning) so I am trying to get some carbs in. Still only able to eat about 2-3 tablespoons of food at one time. How much protein? What is your protein target? If you don't know that number then my guess is that you are not getting enough protein,
  13. I don't know if mine is complex or not. It was severe. Soon after surgery I did have to get a pressure adjustment so my doctor gave me a new, automatic CPAP machine that does the pressure adjustments automatically. I will say that anecdotally, my sleep apnea has improved tremendously.
  14. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I was not given calories to follow but nutrition goals to reach. (90 or more grams of Protein and 90 ounces of liquid) I worry about calories now that I'm walking 5 miles a day and swimming or bowling as well through the week. I'm afraid I'm not eating enough but I feel better if I take my Vitamins and reach my gram goals. So the calories don't matter as much to me. Some days I burn 1000 calories and may only eat 900. I don't know if that's good or bad. Thoughts? I think if you are exercising intensely you need more calories. Your body is going to resist letting go of any weight if you aren't eating enough to support your basic metabolism let alone intense exercise. You need a deficit but not an extreme deficit. You need lots of protein, lots of Water as well as good fats and some good carbs.
  15. But if I remember correctly you had a lower protein goal.
  16. If you are working out then 900 calories seems really low.
  17. Fortunately, I am not now, nor have I ever been a coffee drinker. One less monkey on my back.
  18. Stalls are a normal, natural, and necessary part of the process of losing weight. If you intend to lose a significant amount of weight you will experience falls. Just follow your program. Focus on getting in all of your Protein and fluids (what is your protein target?). Avoid added sugars (especially high fructose corn syrup), and fried foods. Take your Vitamins and supplements as directed. Exercise. Stay off the scale. And, Embrace the Stall http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/351046-Embrace-the-Stall.
  19. Stalls are a normal, natural, and necessary part of the process of losing weight. Everyone experiences stalls and just about everyone experiences a stall about three weeks after surgery. Just follow your program. Focus on getting in all of your Protein and fluids. Take your Vitamins and supplements as directed. Exercise when cleared. Stay off the scale. And, Embrace the Stall http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/351046-Embrace-the-Stall.
  20. None of us lose weight at a constant or steady rate. Right after surgery you are swollen, healing, and full of fluids from the IV. Stalls are a normal, natural, and necessary part of the process of losing weight. If you intend to lose a lot of weight you will experience periodic stalls. Just about everyone experiences a stall about three weeks after surgery.
  21. I've had many nice dinners. No margarita's when eating at a Mexican restaurant, but I haven't missed them.
  22. I had delays due to financing issues. Although the process took longer than I had hoped, everything worked out great in the end. I believe I had the surgery when it was supposed to happen. I know it is frustrating. The key to getting through the preop phase is to practice polite persistence and patience. It will be with it.
  23. I liked the Bariaric Advantage calcium chews. Other than d+k dots, none of the other vitamins I take are specifically bariatric. My multivitamin is basically a centrum (or generic version).
