  1. Stalls are a normal, natural, and necessary part of the process of losing weight. Everyone stalls periodically, and almost everyone experiences their first stall about three weeks after surgery. Embrace the Stall! http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/351046-Embrace-the-Stall
  2. I know it must be tough for you but I am so glad you are seeking treatment. ED is no joke. I wish you health and happiness. You deserve to be happy, joyous, and free.
  3. Its always better once we know. It's the uncertainty that drives us crazy. I am glad that you are in good hands.
  4. I've had therapists work with me on affirmations, and I struggle with it. I'm too cynical... the best thing I've been able to manage is "I'm not a total a-hole, I guess." Except that for it to work you can't phrase an affirmation in the negative. Your brain ignores the NOT, so what you are reinforcing is that "I am a total a-hole." Don't do that to yourself.
  5. This is a very appropriate place to use affirmations. Especially when you look at yourself in the mirror. Start with a simple: "I am beautiful." I am on the run so will come back with more later. I am sure others have examples.
  6. Yes, it is a full-time job but it will get easier. I was able to get all of my Protein (100 grams) in the second day after surgery. It took a little longer to get in at least 64 oz of Fluid. Fortunately, if you can get in 3 premier Proteins that is 90 grams protein and almost half of your fluids. Just keep sipping!
  7. Yes, I was successfully sleeved with a hiatal hernia repair April 20, 2015. It is very common to have a hiatal hernia and that is something that is easy to fix at the same time as the surgery.
  8. That is what I understand. My surgeon didn't want us to necessarily lose weight those two weeks.
  9. What shrinks your liver? Depleting it of the stored fat. By going extremely low carb you are forcing your body to burn the fat that is easiest to access. From what I understand the fat stored in your liver is your short-term fat storage.
  10. Mine was basically Atkin's Level 1 (high protein/no sugar or starches). I was supposed to do it for 2 weeks, but I was able to get an earlier surgery date so didn't have to do it adult week. The day before surgery I was on clear liquids.
  11. The link takes me to a thread from 2003. I don't think that is what you want us to read.
  12. Great advice! I have a worse example. A former boss/colleague of mine was one of those guys who was proud of the fact that he never took any time off of work. He didn't take sick days, or vacation days, or slow down for lunch, etc. He just passed away at a very young age from something that was probably left untreated for too long. A great book that I recommend frequently is Dr. Henry Cloud's "One Life Solution". I actually loaned my copy of that book to him and suggested we read it as a department. I am not sure that he ever actually read it.
  13. I'm at a stall and I'm only 1 month out what can I do to loose more weight? Sent from my LG-H811 using the BariatricPal App Just about everyone stalls the first time about three weeks after surgery. Everyone stalls. None of us lose at a constant or steady rate. Stalls are a normal, natural, and necessary part of the process of losing weight. Just follow your program. Track your food. Make sure you get in ALL of your protein and fluids. Avoid starches and added sugars. Take your Vitamins and supplements as directed. Exercise when cleared. Embrace the Stall! http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/351046-Embrace-the-Stall
  14. Are you still following your program? Tracking your food? Getting in ALL of your Protein and fluids every day? Avoiding starches and added sugars? Taking your Vitamins and supplements as directed? Exercising? Without more information it is hard to help you. Embrace the Stall! http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/351046-Embrace-the-Stall

  16. Let me know how it goes. I think I am still too heavy for a rebounder but may try it in the future. Let me know how it goes. I think I am still too heavy for a rebounder but may try it in the future.
  17. For all of you who are working crazy hours, I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Henry Cloud's book The One Life Solution.
  18. Does your surgeon know you are on steroids? According to my surgeon steroids can cause leaks. I would be cautious.
  19. I love your analogy of the pacifier! Some of the most interesting responses are from newbies when a veteran hands them their sticky pacifier.
  20. If I didn't snack I wouldn't be able to get my 100 grams of Protein a day. For me, it is important that my Snacks are protein based and measured.
  21. Definitely talk to your surgeon. My surgeon said that steroids were the biggest cause of leaks (they basically dissolve the incision line).
  22. Stalls are a normal, natural, and necessary part of the process. Almost everyone experiences their first stall about three weeks after surgery. Just follow your program. Focus on getting in ALL of your Protein and fluids. Stay off the scale, and Embrace the Stall! http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/351046-Embrace-the-Stall
  23. It should be posted prominently at the facility and on their website.
  24. Our bodies are complex systems and not simple machines.
