Just because you can eat (tolerate) it doesn't mean you should. They gave me a food plan for a reason and I know the types of food that got me to the point of needing surgery, so, even if I can eat what I want, I am staying with what is good for me.

They could also just include the Protein and Vitamins for "free" as long as the insurance company covers the scar cream. That is what they did for me until I found out the cost of the cream and stopped the service. At that point they told me the protein and vitamins weren't covered but they included them as long as I got the scar cream.

Hello! I plan on attending.

What does your plan say?

I think most on here are expert dieters, I, for one, has lost 100+ lbs several times, only to gain it all back, plus a little extra. WLS for me was the last option. I know I can lose the weight without it, but I also know I will gain it back.

I suggest you follow the plan provided by your surgeon's office, or check with them. Most plans are very different in what they allow.
-
If the new scale shows you 7lbs higher now, then it would have shown you at a higher weight when you started, so you really have lost the same amount.

I don't think I RSVP'd yet, but I will be there tomorrow.

I suggest you check with your surgeon's office.

Check the Protein sources. It sounds like it could be based on collagenic protein, which is derived from animal skin, bones and cartilage, and is generally not considered high quality protein.

Hello! It sounds like the weather tomorrow will be pretty bad with possibility of snow so I will probably not make it.
Still doing well two weeks post surgery, just trying to get all that protein! That is a little hard, but next week I can move on to mashed foods so that will make it easier.

Yes, I agree check with your doctor about the diet you should follow.

I decided to keep it private and use my vacation time. I work from home so going back to work is a lot easier than if I had to go to a workplace.

Back home and so far no issues with taking liquids. Tried some broth and Protein Shake and no nausea, and been sipping Water without problems. Will see what tomorrow brings.

Just wanted to give an update. Surgery went well, approx. 2 hours. I had to wait a long time in recovery until my room was ready. The pain is not bad at all. The dry mouth is pretty bad. Luckily I followed suggestions and brought dry mouth rinse. Hopefully I will be able to drive by the time of our next meeting.

Day 7 of my liquid diet which is going fine, but now I'm fighting off a cold. My surgery is the 17th and I really don't want to reschedule. It too hard to get rides scheduled and time off from work. Hopefully I will be fine by mid-week.
Anybody had a cold right before surgery?

When they send the paperwork to the insurance company they have to enter a date. You can change it. My approval letter had dates that had already passed but the hospital called and gave them the correct date when it was decided.

One cup of cranberry juice has approx. the same amount of calories as one serving of wine, so sip! :-)
