    Newbie looking for Oct sleevers!

@@nonnax2 No worries thanks for your response. Your Recovery is so much more important than my question :-) Someone else was also kind enough to respond to my question. I live in the south suburbs of Chicago. Congrats on getting sleeved, how are you recovering?

I have told my family as well as some of my friends. At last count eight friends. three are casual friends. I will say, however, I do regret telling my casual friends .So the lesson I learned is to take my time before sharing. There is no rush. I was caught up in the excitement of things.

@@Queen of Crop Thanks! Hope I have the same experience as you with coffee. May I ask you another question? In reading your blog, it was unclear if you waited 30 minutes to drink after eating . This is another fear of mine, Going out to dinner with friends & having to wait to drink. It just seems a bit awkward.

@@lsereno Welcome! Thinks for the tips. I've been trying to do things to prepare for surgery but giving up coffee in advance is a hard one for me. I have a two-week preop diet (it includes liquids for breakfast lunch ) for dinner small amount of protein and veggies. Giving up coffee will be a doozy. Scared of the withdrawal headaches. Congrats on reaching your goal

    Newbie looking for Oct sleevers!

@@spelmanite10 I haven't had my surgery yet so I may not be the best person to give advice. However I have read many many posts of people who were scared as it got closer. Very normal. I'm not sure if you're dealing with any health issues. For me, I look forward to getting off some of my meds, as well as being able to physically do more. At the end of the day if you are not happy with your skin, there is always the option to have plastic surgery. I would never tell someone to go through with the surgery if they are having doubts. I just want you to know that your feelings are completely normal.

    Excess skin - warning photos

Autumn thanks for being so candid. These photos do not deter me. Like you, I know after the sleeve surgery life will be so much better. Saggy skin is Very small price to pay to be healthy. By the way, good job on the weight loss. Wishing you continued success

@@jessiquoi It's really strange how everyone's doctor has different requirements. My surgeon does not require any weight loss. I have a two-week pre-op diet that requires mostly liquid and a small dinner w/ Protein and veggies.

@@nonnax2 Hi Nonna, I just had my sleep apnea test this past week and found out I have severe sleep apnea as well. They're ordering my CPAP machine. Question for you, was it easy to adjust to sleeping with it? I am getting the mask that covers your nose.

1 year down, many to go!

Welcome! thanks for your post. I'm having surgery October 17. It is very helpful to hear positive post like yours. It Reassures me that I can do it as well. I am 100% positive this is the right thing for me to do. But like most, I am getting a bit anxious as it gets closer. congrats on your weight-loss!

    Told my coworkers

Jcp very happy for you. Support is so important like you, I've told some of my coworkers/friends. I've been at my job for 25 years and a few of my friends have been there just as long. So it was difficult to keep it from them. Thankfully, I've received nothing but support. I laugh at myself because every time I tell another coworker , I ask them not to tell but at the rate I'm going, everyone will eventually know! And it will be because of me :-)

@@Carlagrant Welcome! Carla if everything was submitted in July it seems like you should have had an answer by now. Have you called your insurance company for a status? You'd be amazed at what a call can do. I've read over & over in this forum how people called & were able to move things along. Just a thought. Best of luck to you!

Lainie you may want to post that question in the tech support sub forum. Sorry, I am probably the least techie and unfortunately can't help you there
  21. The other day I rec'd a pop-up saying someone wanted to chat. When I clicked on it, I got a message stating my "web app Extension is not configured & to contact admin to configure through cometchat administration panel." Huh????? I sent an email to Bariatricpal for help, no response yet. Meanwhile, if I sign in, EVERY TIME I go to a new page, I get FOUR CONSECUTIVE POPUPS reminding me I have chat messages. I have to stay signed out to read the threads! Someone help, it's driving me bananas

Lainie glad to hear you are in remission & if this site is any indication, you should have no problems losing 70lb as long as you follow the plan & hopefully after you have the surgeries you will gain more mobility. Lainie as far as my preop, I will have liquids (broths & Protein shakes) Breakfast &lunch. dinner I can gave a small amount of protein(chicken, fish, turkey) and veggies. So hopefully that will help with the hunger pains. Queen of Crop Thanks! I will definitely read your blogs. I know they will help. #9grammy, welcome! I still have to take my stress test as well. also a sleep study this Wed.

    Surgery date 10/6

Hi! I'm going to chime in as well. My surgery date is October 17. Like you, I started getting nervous when my Dr. gave me the date. I even got a little upset when my friends got very excited for me when I told them of my date. A little irrational, I know. However, every time I get nervous I think about the things that I will be able to do and the possibility of getting off some of my meds and that helps to keep me focused. I also specifically read the success stories & deliberately stay away from the negative. Just remember the reason you started on this path and know you are not alone.

Hi Lainie! Welcome! sorry to hear about your leukemia diagnosis. I hope things are going well. That has or had to be a difficult thing to deal with. Best wishes in this journey. I began mine in June & I am scheduled to have my surgery in October. This is becoming very real for me. I am 51 and wish I had the courage to have done this years ago. Truthfully, I just found out about the sleeve last Oct but I was in denial that I was large enough to qualify, I laugh every time I say that, especially. when I look at my Bmi-I was in deep denial. Oh well, I can't change the past but looking forward to forming my future. I hope this thread continues.
