    Update broke forums

@Alex Brecher, notification of a topic I'm following or notification of a response to something I said. At the top of the main page there's a pic of what looks like a globe? It's next to the word create. I used to be able to delete them after I've read it . But now, I can't locate a delete button, so the notifications are just piling up. Hope that makes sense. Thank you

    Natural Hair and Bariatric Surgery

@bodyxo, I will never tell you to have or not have the surgery, it is a personal choice. hair was a huge deal for me ,I do mean huge, so I understand your fear. In the end, I felt the benefits of weight loss surgery, far outweighed the cons. Prior to surgery I had sleep apnea, high blood pressure, plantar fasciitis & borderline diabetic. I'm proud to say two years later I no longer have any of these issues. I did lose some hair. It thinned out quite a bit. I now have my length back but it's still not as thick as it used to be. I have also gained some weight back (11lbs) and working to get rid of it. Despite it all, I have Absolutely NO regrets about having the surgery. My instincts were right.... The benefits DID outweigh the cons. Hair grows back. Nowadays, we have lots of hair options. Not everyone loses hair. I used Biotin before the surgery and still today (10,0000mcg). Remember, Biotin does not prevent hair loss. I was told it can help hair grow back healthy and hopefully quicker. Best wishes

    Nighttime cough

I've never heard of night time coughing after surgery. Do you have sleep apnea? Or maybe a cold? I know that sounds like a simplified question, but trust me, after surgery, everything we feel, we relate it to the surgery. When in doubt always defer to your bariatric team Sent from my SM-G900T using BariatricPal mobile app

    Weight Gain After Sleeve

I was sleeved 10/2014. Never got to goal, lowest weight was 167/168 but loved how I looked and wore a size 10. I have regained 11# and am having the hardest time losing the weight! So I feel your pain! one of my fellow sleevers mentioned a website bariatriceating.com. I think they offer a reset program( to help w/regain) and a Facebook support group as well. I plan to look into that as an option. Good luck to you!
  10. I read it too. So Sorry you're having such a difficult time. Wishing you find answers soon and that you get the results you're looking for. Hopefully someone on this forum may have advice/suggestions.
  11. I am using an IPAD. For the life of me, I can't find a delete button after I've read my notification? I don't like clutter so it's driving me crazy, help!
  12. I was down to a size 10 about a year ago, loved how I looked in clothes and was trying for a size 8. My doctor told me lots of patients regain 10-20 pounds around the two year mark, so I wanted to make sure I gave myself a cushion. Welllllllll...... Fast foward almost another year, I am now a size 14! And it's a real struggle to lose a pound! I would be perfectly content being a size 10.

    two and half years out

I have heard of this on this, Several times, on BP. And if I remember correctly, it was around the 2 year mark. Personally, I have not experienced it. Maybe get hold of your nutrionist from your bariatric team for suggestions. I specifically remember at least one person coming back and mentioning the issue had resolved, but can't recall how. On another note, it's great you have maintained your weight, relatively well. I never got down to my goal weight and have regained about 11 pounds! It's a real struggle to get it off.

October 2014 sleevers check in please!

@@Buffer, I have no words of wisdom, just know you're not alone in this struggle. Since my last post, I've gained a few more pounds, up 11# and two dress sizes. I have been working out 3 days a week. Trying to increase it to 4 or 5 days but it's very hard. I 've been experiencing pain in one if my feet, so it's difficult to workout more then 3 days. However, I'm working w/a podiatrist to get it resolved. All we can do is keep trying. Never give up.

What Bariatric Vitamins Do I Need?

    @@trekker954, I'm curious... What's your doctors issue w/Flinstone?

    What's a slider?

    Usually carbs, unfortunately.
  18. @@jenn1, I'm in too. I've gained 11 lbs and 2 dress sizes since June. I'm so upset w/myself! I've been working out 3-4 days a week but need to up it to 5 days, because I haven't lost any weight working out three days. My worst fear about regain is coming true, I've got to reel it in and leave those freekin carbs alone!!! Please you guys, hold me accountable. I'm so frustrated.

Wow, thanks for sharing. I haven't had any issues so far, but good to know, in case I do.
  20. 2 years and almost 3 months out Currently 180.4# (hurts to write that) My 12 week goal is to lose 10# ( I'm being realistic ) I have always been a super slow loser, so don't want to set my self up for disappointment. Ultimately would like to lose 25#. I am going to work out 4-5 days a week and plan to incorporate weight training.2 days. My lowest was 167 /size 10. I am now a size 14. Whew! Writing that was hard.
  21. I'm in, 12-13lb regain and 2 years out, I need this!

    Metabolism after VSG

@@Ginsin007, Pre-sleeve mine was higher. I was told they expected my RMR to lower as I lost weight. I suggest waiting until you get past the so called "honeymoon phase" of surgery (9 months to a year) and have it tested then. Because your weight loss will slow down and you can have a more realistic idea of the amount of calories you'll need to maintain or to continue losing.
  23. I'm two years out, no issues before or after with food, Gerd, vomiting..etc. I had high blood pressure and sleep apnea before & those issues have resolved themselves. Struggling with weight gain but this too shall pass Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App

Age, menopausal and under active thyroid

@@littlelamb3, I had my surgery at 51, menopausal and under active thyroid. I was a good patient and followed most of my doctors orders. I honestly could have been better the first year and could have lost more. But having said that, I got down to 167-168# my starting weight was 243. This past summer I regained about 8 lbs and I'm really struggling to lose it but I'm staying determined. Follow your doctors orders. The first year is crucial. This is when you can maximize your loss potential. Usually the doctors give you an average. Some people lose less, some more. Just give it your best!
