I have been losing/gaining the same 2-3lbs for the last month. It's discouraging, but I think I'm finally through with this cycle. My body hasn't been under 200lbs since I was a teenager and I think it is revolting. My brain certainly was. I was eating too many carbs. It was easy enough to do.
Once I kicked the extra carb habit I've dropped to my lowest weight so far. As of today I have lost exactly 100lbs.
I hope everyone is doing well

I weighed in this morning at 249.6 HW was 349 I lost 100 pounds! Still can't fathom it and I almost cried this morning because I almost didn't do the surgery listening to my husband and my mom. Screw them, lol. So glad I prayed and trusted myself to make the right choice. I still am far away from goal (150 pounds) but I'm committed to getting there. I now know that with a lot of hard work and dedication anything is possible.

I'm down 68 pounds from my highest pre-surgery weight. Only 3 pounds to go to reach my first weight goal. I see my surgeon toward the end of February and very hopeful I will have achieved my first goal!

Great job Court3625! With only three pounds to go you would surely reach her goal by February

I was sleeved on 10/28. The put a scalpolamine patch on me and it has helped tremendously. They also did a tap before I came out of surgery. It's basically like a spinal but it affects the nerves in your abdomen. It works miracles. I would suggest it to anyone.

I had mine done on August 7. Everything seems to be going well. I'm on regular foods now but not in any kind of hurry to go back to my pre-sleeve habits. I had the lap-band from May, 2011 to December, 2014 with several painful experiences with food getting stuck. I don't want any repeats! Since my heaviest pre-surgery, I've lost 36 pounds. Two weeks of that was my pre-op diet. But a lose is a lose!

I think eating slowly is the key, especially when you're incorporating a "new" texture into your diet. I was definitely concerned too. I started with refried Beans with a touch of enchilada sauce (made the Beans softer) and some shredded cheese. I didn't have any problems with that. Small curd cottage cheese is also good. I took a rotisserie chicken and put it in the Nutra Bullet and added a little bit of mayo for taste. That was really good! There are lots of good ideas on here.

Court3625 got a reaction from Bndtoslv in Why did you choose the Sleeve over the Bypass
I'm a nurse and have taken care of many patients who have had gastric bypass. Most of them were nutrient deficient with malabsorption problems. They were in and out of the hospital on a regular basis. They may have lost a lot of weight but they were not healthy people. I know that is not what every bypass patient experiences but I was not willing to try my luck. I had the band removed in December and was sleeved on 8.7.15. Other than not being able to tolerate sugar-free foods, it's been smooth sailing.

I had the band from May, 2011 to December, 2014 and was sleeved August 7, 2015. Before the band I had occasional reflux; nothing to see a doctor about. With the band, I had constant reflux that required Prilosec daily. Taking it has become part of daily routine. I would love to stop needing it but I'm also happy I only need it once a day; I can live with that!

I received a call last week asking if I was available for surgery on August 7. Stunned, I said yes! I was certain I would have to wait for the original surgeon to get back which could have been mid September. Now I officially have my surgery date, two weeks away. I'm on Day 2 of my pre-op diet. This is going to be a long two weeks

I had the same thing happen to me. I got the band May, 2011. It slipped at the end of 2012. Had surgery to release it. Six weeks later had another surgery to put it back together. Band slipped again fall 2014 and it was removed December, 2014. Since then I've gained 25-30 pounds. When the band was removed, I would not consider another surgery. I thought I could do it on my own. It took me a while, lots of thinking and research. I also talked to two acquaintances who have been sleeved. I wanted to hear from them that they weren't experiencing the problems that bypass can cause. I'm a nurse and took care of many bypass patients and saw the problems they had after bypass...malabsorption and dumping syndrome being the most common. Finally decided I want to pursue the sleeve and my surgeon is in agreement. Now to determine if the insurance will cover it. I hate the waiting. I would assume since they approved me for the band and I did lose a significant amount of weight that I should be ok to get the sleeve.
