  2. Jenn, my daughter and her two daughters have been doing the Turkey Trot for 3 years now. My sleeve surgery is 11/17 so can't this year, but I plan to be ready for 2015!!!! They always have a ball!!
  3. Me too. Monday in Tiajuana. Everybody keep in touch. Prayers going up for our surgeons and all of us for smooth sailing, rapid recoveries and awesome results. Hugs to all.
  4. From experience... My daughter lives close, is a Nurse Practitioner and is a very good one. However, since she has very little or no experience treating obesity, was woefully short on information about WLS. She hit the roof when I told her and really had a cat when I told her my insurance excluded weight loss treatment and I am going to Mexico. We talked and I promised to reconsider if she would do some research and would also talk to the doctor that she works with who is a crackerjack Cardiologist. She read and researched and consulted as we agreed and she came back to me not only on board with my plans, but with more positive information than you can imagine. As for the Mexico part, her doctor is from India and he reminded her that there are great physicians all over the world and that many people go out of country to get the best! Information and communication is the key.
  5. Thanks so much for the inspiration! Your posts really help so much with the pre-surgery jitters. I can't wait to see your awesome pictures. Thanks again.

  10. Hey Harley congratulations. I know you were hoping the get an earlier date! Datuh, you hit the jackpot in sleevers here. I go in 5 days and a wakeup. There are many many others on here in every different stage. You should find all the information you want and if not, just ask. Have a wonderful journey!

  14. Midwestgirl said it all very well. You wouldn't be the great mom that you are if you weren't thinking about your kids at a time like this. Prayers going up that God will keep his hand on you and your surgeon and you will come through fine and be the best mom you can be. Hugs.

  18. Must have been a typo. It's not the 15th yet. How are you feeling?
  19. That is EXACTLY how I feel. Even if it works for a million other people, it won't work for me. Wonder if this could have something to do with not feeling "worthy" because of being obese for so long. Hmmmm....
  20. Toughest thing I've ever done! Praying a LOT!!! Can't wait to not be hungry.
  21. We all need to hear the bad along with the good. Thank you. Sending prayers up for a complete healing for you, physically and emotionally.

  23. Jennifer, I'm sorry you are having trouble eating. I don't have any suggestions except like everyone else, just keep trying. Just wanted to thank you for posting this though. So many good suggestions from everyone will probably make it easier for those of us who haven't had our surgeries yet. Prayers for an easier time.
