I got sleeved on the 18/8 and have lost 24 pounds but my energy levels are really inconsistent at times I am really really tired then other times I feel great. I am on purreed food so eat alot of blended chicken in Soups and weetbix and scrambled eggs and very soft cheese and I make my own shakes with Protein powder but now I have really bad funky breathe anyone elses partner complained that you have bad breathe?

I cant tolerate any refined sugar gives me bad diahreah and personally I'm glad I am happy to cut it from my life and have loved researching all the websites with lots of great recipes using raw ingredients.

I had the same hernia repair as you and surgery the same day and my left shoulder is the only thing bothering me at times the pain takes my breath away. The surgeon did warn me about it prior to me leaving the hospital because at that stahe I'd had no problems. Even doing a wee makes it throb. Glad to know that a heat pack helps going to find one now and put it on it. Trying to take panadol is difficult as I am having trouble swolling them even with cutting them up.

I've sailed through every part of my surgery no pain from incisions no vomiting but I have terrible pain in my left shoulder that is ok mostly during the day but at night time it's terrible I am getting up out of bed at like 3-4am because of the pain of laying in bed.
Anyone else experienced this and if so what did you do to overcome it and how long does it last? Many thanks for any replies

Hi newrose I was sleeved the 18th also, it still seems kind of surreal. How are you feeling so far?
I was on the 18th too and mostly I am doing ok except for having diareah anything milky or Protein Shakes and they just literally go right through me. I have no pain other than a little in my left shoulder I am struggling to do all the Fluid and Protein. I find Soups are the best.

Oh my I am one week post op and it has been a journey. I don't know how much I have lost because I refuse to get on the scale, but I do have my post op appt. in the AM to have my staples removed.. I stayed one extra day in the hospital because of my blood pressure. I was okay by the time I came home late Friday night. I felt pretty good. I was able to get my liquids in. However, since yesterday I have slowed down. Feeling weak and lightheaded. Having a hard time getting all my liquids in but I do get at least 32 oz in... I don't have the energy to walk so I haven't been outside. I'm trying to walk around indoors. I am taking Vitamins, and trying to get as much Protein as I can. I am on the full liquid diet, so I am drinking a variety of zero calories drinks, unjury chicken broth, Tomato juice (who knew I would enjoy that:-), Protein Drinks, I also have SF Jello & pudding as well.. This seems like a lot and was doing good but I am having stomach pains that I thought was gas but now I think it's hunger pangs...OMG!!!! These pains wake me up in the middle of the night. Anyway, I wish everyone well on their journey and remain hopeful that this too shall pass!!! I wanna go sit on the "losers" bench in the winners game ...lol I will post my weight loss after my weight in tomorrow (although I still feel bloated)...
I hear you I was sleeved on Monday and did great in hospital no nausea gas pain or anything now after one night home I am feeling icky my tummy is gurgling like crazy I've already had a real loose bowel movement twice and the last thing I feel like doing is drinking anything tho I did force myself to have some Protein shake and now Water. I try and lay down to sleep and just feel so uncomfortable.

I am home had my surgery around 4pm Monday and its now 3.30pm Wednesday. I had no nausea and no gas pain the minimal pain I had was managed with panadol. I did also have a hiatal hernia repair as well which I had had no symptoms off. So far I've stuck completely to clear fluids mostly Water black tea and chicken broth. It all seems a little surreal as I am feeling just like me. I didn't have any emotional flatness or anything on day 2 as my surgeon predicted that I would. In fact the worse pain was from my iv in my hand where they gave me Fluid and liquid panadol up to 8am this morning.

I'm August 18th too and like you at times I get very emotional and overwhelmed with my decision but then the quiet voice inside says keep going this is the right decision just I hate change and I worry about how this may affect every other part of my life but I know I am in control and that all the changes need only be positive changes and that I get to choose my attitude

I've never tried any of the shakes so thanks for the info. I have my surgery booked for 18th August and see the surgeon again on the 8th so I figure he will get me started on them then. Tho I am seeing the dietician on the 29th July so maybe she will? Who saw a dietician and what did they do?
