  6. I think it is only normal to have some anxiety about any major decision, especially a decision that can not be reversed. I went through the same thing a few weeks ago, but I found comfort in that I have 3 co workers that have had the sleeve and experience sucess also 3 co workers that had a bypass with sucess. None of them have regrets and all would recommend their procedures and are happy for me. The first few weeks are the toughest after few months they could pretty much eat what they want only much smaller portions than before.
  7. I completed a three month dietitian program, it was over the phone and they sent me a informative packet. I actually learned some really good tips and survival instructions for the pre and post op diet and recipes. There is a big difference btw seeing a bariatric dietitian than a typical dietitian or weight loss consultant. This will be a drastic change in your diet unlike any other weight loss challenge, so even if it is not required you might want to look into seeing a bariatric dietitian at least once so you can have the tools and resources to make it easiest for you. I am doing my preop liquid diet right now and it is a challenge, but do able my surgery is for july 23. Best wishes to you :-)
  8. My preop included getting a upper GI barium study ( just swallowed some thick koolaid tasting fluid, while being x-rayed) I also had a renal/gallbladder ultra sound, cbc with type and cross, EKG, chest x-ray, surgeon visit, and I preadmitted to the hospital, and spoke with the preop nurse. Whew...its alot right, it took about 8 hours at the hospital.
  9. My preop is a 7 day liquid diet, 4 protein shakes, and any broths, sugar free liquids or diet drinks. I can have soups, including cream soups, however I need to strain out the solids. Day 6 is all clear liquids.
  10. I was just wondering if anyone has had a gastric sleeve or bypass by Dr. Kuhn or Dr. Henke?

  12. I am feeling the exact same way, I have completed all of my preop stuff, spent lots of money, and even pre admitted to the hospital. Now, I am not sure I want to do this anymore.
  13. My surgery has been rescheduled for july 23, originally was set for yesterday but had to be changed do to doctor being out, I will need to redo my 7 day preop diet...well at least I have experience from last time and know what to expect.

  15. Thanks for the support, my doctor does have a partner but he just so happens to be on vacation this week, go figure, sigh
  16. I have been on a liquid diet for 6 days and I was called tonight (2 days before my surgery) to notify me I will have to reschedule to the end of the month with a different Dr. Bc the one I chose is sick. I have already done preop tests, my parents, sister and boyfriend already took off. And plus I have taken off from work for medical leave already.I feel soooo discouraged
  17. I hit a wall day five with the all liquid preop. However that day I did not meet my fluid goals. I think as long as you get all of your fluids in and meet you protein shake requirements you will be fine. But what has also worked for me is that I am literally drinking/sipping something every 2 hours.I don't allow myself to get to hungry. Also going to bed early has really helped too:-)
