  1. i took Ibuphrophen for swelling and it has worked. I think the fill just swelled me up too tight. I will give it some time. Did not eat today.....no Clear Liquids and not too hungry. I have just remained really calm and know these symptoms too will pass. It is the swelling I know. Today i was pretty uncomfortable but tonight after the ibuphrophen I feel better. Thanks for your post

  2. Oh my gosh!! Are you telling us you are human!!! You are human and your are not going to eat perfectly all the time. You can have chocolate from time to time so don't think it is out of your life forever, but you can not have it often and can not eat too much or you are eating around your band. A nibble savored brings as much satisfaction as a mouthful. Have great patience with yourself dear. With patience will come perseverance. You will feel better soon and begin to make better choices. We have all been there!

I am miserable right now after a tight fill. Having trouble keeping Water down from the swelling but I know fills can feel too tight after the fill and with the swelling and not keeping water down and having nothing to eat nor Clear Liquids I am pretty miserable right now.........but I can handle anything I know it temporary. Feeling bad after eating Kit Kats is temporary...you will be back on track. Thanks for sharing.

  3. My tid bit is to remember the pain of surgery and recovery. Remember how hard the pre-op diet was because I believe we have to have great respect for this band. My first band was very successful but I did not respect it. I ate around it because I couldn't adjust to not eating and enjoying like those around me. Still I lost all my weight and maintained it for 5 years. Then I got cocky and got the band out. I gained almost all the weight back. Now I was just banded again May 15. This time it is different. I am committed to the rules of eating. Surgery was painful and I am remembering that this time as a motivator to have respect. I am losing slow but I will get to 130 pounds again because living there was so sweet and I was happy.

  4. I just got a fill this morning and am at 9.5cc's. I stayed in the office and drank a glass of Water and it stayed down. Now 7 hours later my water keeps coming up. Even the coffee I drank 12 hours ago before the fill is coming up. I am sipping now. Is it that I was drinking too fast? Is this normal right after a fill when I am swollen? I have not had any other liquids today so I have had no nutrition. I am in bed because I am so tired which I think is from low blood sugar. I will sip some chicken broth later for nutrition. I am a little hungry. I have not walked today but after I drink water I have been getting up and walking around the house hoping the water will stay down. Needing your responses! Thanks

  5. I just got my third fill and am at 9.5cc's. I was able to drink a large glass of Water right after the fill and it stayed down. But now hours after leaving my appt. I feel very tight and for no reason my coffee and Water are coming up. The coffee I had early this morning is coming up. Why would coffee from 6 hours ago and way past the band start coming up?

  6. Surgery May 15 and today is July 2 and I have lost 11 pounds. I am discouraged. I have had two fills and can still eat bread, steaks, tortillas, potatoes. I have to eat really slow but I get these foods down. I am starting to walk for short brisk walks often. Long walks make my chin splints hurt. I am hungry but have not overeaten nor binged. I am a little afraid of my fill tomorrow because I have heard stories of a tight band being really hard to handle. Any suggestions?

I am happy that I can cross my legs now but my inner thighs still rub together when I walk. Need some support form you bankers out there...please. Jenn

  7. Go back and tell the team exactly what you have said here. The band really works but you have to work toward the green zone. Preparing for the band and going through surgery to get it makes you very brave already. You will succeed but make the team here and at your doctors office come up with solutions. I am 7 weeks post op and my band is not where it needs to be. I have been told by my team it may take up to 6 fills and adjustments to find the green zone. I won't stop until I feel the green zone because I deserve it. You deserve it to so call your doctor now and take the step toward feeling better. I can cross my legs now after losing 11 pounds!! That is a non scale victory. I get down on myself thinking 'only 11 pounds' but hey it is 11 pounds I have lost with little help from my band yet. I will be patient. I will be persistent and so can you!!! Jenn
