  1. Ugh, I'm seeing this a lot. Sometimes when I'm working all day and forget to eat. Today I drank two large cups of coffee, got to work sat down to sweats and shakes. Fortunatley I had an orange to eat as I was in the middle of a confernce call. I had a bowl of coco puffs for breakfast (dont judge) So maybe lack of a meal does it, high sugar, high caffeine. I'm going to go get a glucose meter and start a log to see whats. Glad to see this info on here, I'm not alone
  2. Having this issue, wife was insecure before my surgery. Counseling hadn't helped.
  3. It is tough at first, but it keeps getting better and better. Foods get easier to take in. Water gets easier to drink (was such a struggle, could only sip water for the first couple months) I'm now 5 months out, 331 pounds in March, 309 in June on the day of surgery, 220 pounds today. Aiming to get below 200, 6 foot tall, large frame body.

  5. I swam within 3 weeks of surgery. My son had his appendix out laporscopicaly 2 weeks ago and got cleared for swimming Monday. Surgeon didn't want him to miss the summer.
  6. I have a simular issue. Since surgery I've had sex as if it was a chore like taking the trash out. Way less frequent than before. Hoping it goes away...
  7. I had surgery June 18th. I started loosing pre-op weight at 331 pounds. The day of my Surgery I weighed 309, today, 2 months later I'm at 246 pounds. I've lost a total of 85 pounds and 63 since surgery. I noticed I could eat Doritios and a little ice cream cake yesterday at a birthday party. I hadn't been able to do this before. I'm still loosing about 5 pounds per week, trying to stick to the 2 oz of protien and 2 oz of veggie but starting to get hungier. I'm looking to round out at 215 to 230 and try to maintane that. I got the worse case of gout in my left toe last week, my dr had me on steriods and now on a pill to reduce the acid level. I think I'm on track and doing well btu need to work on my excersise routines still.

  12. I was taking these pre op seminars at the Bariatric treatment center . They were part of the pre surgery insurance requirements. The center is on the third floor of a medical billing. when I showed up for the seminars each week I noticed I was the only person taking the stairs, the other started noticing me coming down the stairs, when they got off the elevator, yet they still took the elevator. I think it's the little things in life...
  13. I'm excited about my weight loss and I keep thinking its gonna get even better. But then there's a bit of fear that I won't lose as much as my expectations. I keep having this internal conflict.
  14. I'm 40, I weighed 331 pounds. Passing 300 was not a good day. My biggest issue was beer. I liked my afternoon beers. My father in law is not doing well with his weight, in the hospital a lot for knees and other weight related issues. I'm not diving, I go snow boarding less. It was easy to blame "getting older" but I was realizing I wasn't the functional fat guy I used to be. I got surgery on June 18th. I've lost 56 pounds, 20 of that was pre surgery. I thought I'd miss the beer and caffeine, but I really miss not being able to chug water. I learned the hard way I can eat a lot more by cutting into small pieces and eating very slow. Yes they told me that; but sometimes you have to learn it on your own. Constipation is a bit of an issue but not yet dire. I can eat with the family, had some pepperoni and cheese of pepperoni pizza the other day at a family 4th of July party. I went out to the bar the other night with a coworker, ordered grilled tuna, no beer while he had a fish and chips and a beer. No big deal, brought a lot of food home. Need to work on exercise, I haven't had much time off of work since I started back . In September I go back on travel and live in a hotel for 3 weeks. That should be interesting.
