  1. I know, I am struggling myself too! But we will move...I am sure it has a lot to do with our fills. My doc said that the saline we have in our band does still seem to dissipate a little bit, so they never get the same amount out that they put in. She wasn't really sure why, so if you have the same amount of say 6cc's in for over a long period of time and some of it dissipates, not to mention as we loose weight are bands get a little looser. Together those two things could equal maintenance fills, always..

Everyone have faith, I know how your all feeling as I am still 9 pounds away from hitting 100, and I still have almost 99lbs left to go....This can't be it!! We just can't give up!!!! Don't loose the faith you all!

  2. Wow, I wish I could be out on the job four days and at school only one!! I am a hands on learner, more than books. I only have three more weeks until clinicals, I will be in the hospital two days a week. So I am really excited about that, but I will still be in school two days a week as well..But I will have Mondays off!! I am sure I will be studying though...Is it summer yet!!

Wow Whosya, you ready for your Florida trip!!

  3. Whosyadaddy!!

Your too funny!! Well atleast you got some fun in the bun!!!! LOL!! That is so cool!! That would be awesome if you came to Dayton!! That would be so cool, well keep me posted.... The 18 or the 19th is good, I have more time on Wednesday than Thursday though!! Let me know...The have great Skinny Latte's at Starbuck's close to the airforce base... Tests are over for this week...Getting ready for next week..I have a paper to write this weekend, then a worksheet, and of course my favorite flash cards....Uggghhh! But I am going to my zumba lady tomorrow!!!! I am so excited!! That will be so cool if we get to catch up and meet!!!!

  4. Sorry, to hear about your fill, and the sinus headache, definitely not a way to start the weekend, that is for sure. Well I have been busy studying my butt off, to still get a crappy grade. I missed questions I know I should have known the answer to.. I will see my test Tuesday and meeting with Professor, after class for help. So today, I started my day off with a walk...I walked my neighborhood since the snow is melting a little bit..Thought some fresh air would do me good. I do feel better...but now it's time to write a paper and study some more....How do people do this college thing I will never know!!

Looking forward to the gym tomorrow, plan to spend some quality time with my machines, and my favorite zumba lady!! I have however, done my work out tapes at home 2 times and did exercise on demand once but I did three different ones...They only last like 20 min though...I am so glad it's Friday!! I hope you all have a Great Friday!! Ceraded, hope you feel better.

  5. Para,

I am so sorry to hear about the kidney stone...Ouch!!! I hear they are painful...I hope your feeling better soon!! Both your dogs are cuties!! I hava a cockapoo, but he is all black, it's hard to get good pictures of him..Up to my ears in studying!! Take care all!

  6. That would be hard to though!! I am not sure some days what I was thinking...But I know that is where I am gifted...I love helping others.. But these classes are tough...so my focus has to be on them...since I am just an average student. Anything you really want to do requires lots of practice...so it's all tough if you want to be good at it!!

Okay so I hit the gym last night...My goal has to change. I am going to try to get to the gym atleast 3/5 days and atleast one day on the weekend...I am putting so much pressure on myself that I am just to down, maybe if I lower my expectations right now it would be better...so atleast I can be a little successful. Okay well take care my gym rat buddies!!

  7. Hey all! Feeling a little better today..Got my gym fix last night..I enjoyed zumba for 60 minutes and it was great! I did the elliptical for about twenty minutes...but I wanted to do strength training too! So I did legs and abs, and the back area I love so much!!! It was nice to get to go...I am now just aiming for hitting the gym three days a week, plus atleast one day on the weekend...It's too hard to put myself on such a high goal to get there everyday, right now with school..I don't want to be dissappointed at myself either...SO my goal is too hit the gym atleast three times a week, and if I hit it more that would be great, but I am going to do my zumba DVD at home more, and my exercise on demand choices...That way I am still getting exercise...

  8. Maybe if your doc sees that you have only lost a little bit of weight he may give you a really good fill! Sometimes you just need to find your sweet spot, and have good restriction to help your weightloss!! Don't give up!! Without the right fill, your loosing weight on your own, and the band isn't doing it's part, however it is good practice to eat the smaller meals and consume less calories!! Take care!

  9. Okay well what a great thread!!! Because I am a self saboteur, I am sure we all were but who likes to admit that..I don't know about anyone else but I have accomplished very few of my own personal goals, wieght being the huge one..When I was young and heavy, I blamed it on events, deaths, or situations..My weight is the one thing that held me back the only excuse I had for my failures..If I loose my excuse whose fault will it be then....So my problem is not being accountable. I am the cause of my problems with being over weight because I continue the bad habit...So that is where my depression is...I realize it's totally my fault, and I still never got the motivation to do anything about it. Now that I am banded, and I think about where I am and where I came from, what I used to be, then when I look passed the window, I realize, Oh? I am not that big girl I used to be...I am trying to stop looking at everything I have failed at and look at the things I have accomplished to build myself up that way because tearing my self down from my failures wasn't accomplishing much...I still have bad days....Lots of them, having one today...but I am just trying not to let myself get in that ditch, because at the bottom of it there is nothing there... Just loneliness and a big fat pitty party. That is not something I want to do. So I try not to think about being successful, and I think about where I have been, and how far I have come...and each little milestone I have made to get to each one..SO when you have a day where your at the bottom of that whole, just remember how much closer you are to the top than what you were before, and that the only person keeping you from getting there is you!!! And don't give up... I love this thread!! It needed to be said!!!

  10. Hey all!! I hope your doing well! Life has got me in a crunch...The only thing I have really done was one gym trip last week...Ugggh. Looks like we survived the snow and ice...BUt I will be honest I am having the worst time getting motivated...I didn't work out all weekend, and feeling the blues today...Hopefully I will get up and go, so I am planning my gym time for tonight...Hopefuly I will make the 9:00pm zumba class! Take care !! H ave a great workout week!

  11. I am having Gym withdrawls this week!!!! I need to go, but I need to study...I am pretty stressed over class, but I find myself daydreaming about the gym, and the sauna, and the hot tub, and of course my zumba classes!! I hope everyone else is enjoying their gym's right now!!!!I am so jealous!! Anyways, Whosyadaddy what did you end up doing? Aren't you going to Florida too? Take care my gym rat friends!! Have great workouts this week.

  12. Your right Penny!!! Congratulations!! I am so happy for you!!! Pre-op testing includes various test depending on your health needs, they will draw blood, do an upper GI and other various test. I am an asthmatic so I had to do a Pulmonary Functions Test as well as an ABG. Also we had to have an EEG ran to check the heart...It is a busy four hours but take a magazine... I am so happy for you!! You will be ready to start the rest of your life as a banded woman!! Take care!!

  13. I am slacking on my gym time due to the snow but just for fun today 60min. zumba, and 2-20 min exercise videos on the Exercise on Demand...My kids have been home two days this week....Now I love them but I do look forward when they are at school...Have a great work out week...

  14. Okay, no gym tonight. I will go tomorrow after lab but did do 60 minutes of Zumba at home..Have I told you all how much I want winter to be over...I am freezing..and they are saying more snow tonight...Uuugggghhh. Okay..I will report in tomorrow. Take Care all! Have a great workout!

  15. Penny,

I think we are all more than glad to help you!!! I started my journey with the band at 349lbs, and I am at 258. So your friend could have a lot of success as well! I did tell my friends and family about my surgery but not a whole lot of others until after surgery. Now when I started going to college, I found out that 5 other students had some type of WLS as well. So it was interesting...to see that I wasn't the only one who had lost weight.

  16. Hi all!

Para- I bought it and it was top of the line..I paid like $1900 for the elliptical. It was nice, but I have small kids and I just felt like I had so many interruptions at home...My elliptical was an Octane 35. It was awesome, but it was also huge and took up a lot of room. Not to mention, here I have this super nice elliptical, and I always use the precor at the gym...IT was hard to do both. So we decided to sell it...The good thing is it found a good home hopefully and it will be used a lot..

Whosyadaddy, we all have weeks like that, but I know you will kick butt at the gym this week!! You can do it!!

Okay well I hope your trip to Cleveland is good!! I can't believe your in Ohio!!! I hope you all have a great workout week! Take care!
