Anyone have trouble sleeping after surgery?
finediva replied to Stephanie Ged's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was a chronic insomniac for over 30 years. Since surgery I've now become a sometimes insomniac. Sometimes I sleep, 5 to 6 hrs, which is alot for me; and sometimes I revert back to my my old ways. But when I do sleep I feel so rested and love it! Hope the sleeping thing works out for you soom. For me, when I'm able to get restful sleep, it's a beautiful thing. Best. -
Besides going to the ER, have you gotten in touch with your surgeon? He/she should be aware of what you are experiencing. Best.

You look great.

You look marvelous! Just marvelous! Congrats!

How often are you weighing yourself?
finediva replied to bruni's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I weigh every single morning and many times at night, just for the heck of it. I LOVE seeing my weight on the scale. When I start maintenance I will continue to weigh daily. No way I'm going to wake up 20 pounds heavier one day! -
weight gain after knee transplant
finediva replied to hopeful2 be slim's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
How much weight did you lose before you started gaining? Do you think the regain is directly related to the surgery? -
Well, the bright side is you've had the surgery! Go ahead and vent, that's what we're here for.

Feeling a little guilty
finediva replied to missyleigh's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Well, I've had cake and cookies (fiber one cookies) and about three Hersey kisses. Haven't felt guilty yet. I didn't have this surgery to never eat these things, ever in my life again. I had the surgery to allow myself to have control over my eating. After a few bites of anything, I'm done! And my life goes on. I love the freedom of that. Before my surgery, I would be obsessed with eating the entire bag of candy or the WHOLE cake. Now I'm just not interested. Also, there are times sweets are presented to me and amazingly, I'm not interested. But if I am, I ask for a small piece, indulge and throw out the rest of it. -
Help! Losing My Job and Emotionally Eating!
finediva replied to sukik's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Let that normal BMI and better health be your motivation to stop the emotional eating right now. Without good health to carry us through, little will eventually matter. Unfortunately we cannot always control what life brings us, but we have to try our best to use coping skills that will get us over the rough patches. The new house and the potential loss of income. ...I'm so very sorry that this is happening to you. I hope that the entire situation will be resolved positively very soon. Continue to take the very best care of yourself. Best. -
Why don't you eat after 5pm?

I made peace with the fact that I will never drink 8 cups of water a day. I didn't pre sleeve and now almost 7 months later....still don't. I give it my best effort every day and move on. Thankfully, I've had no adverse reactions. I do drink decaf coffee and skim, lactose free milk.

This freaking stall! HELP!
finediva replied to iamblessed1225's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
How much more do you need to lose? -
So had some last night. Made my usual hot skim milk with cacao powder and stevia. Yep, yummy. I'll probably stay with it, even if it's a little on the expensive side.

No, it's not you. It's me. I probably just didn't read with enough understanding. I'm enjoying the responses.

Oh, oh......Anyways, I've been called FAT, many times in my life, and it always made me feel bad about being fat. Even if I already knew I was fat. Ok, I have no idea if I actually understand the question the op is asking, so also have no idea if I'm responding correctly.

@@laurenella82 Yeah! So excited for you! I remember last July, which now seem like a century ago. Take a nice nap and wake up to new possibilities!

Why do people feel they have a right to be rude now?
finediva replied to Bobby46's topic in Rants & Raves
@mhuntoon. Feel beter? Don't mean to be insensitive, but your post made me giggle. So does your parents have ANY idea what's going on in your life right now, besides your weight loss journey? Really hope the job situation is resolved soon. Because I did not want to walk out into moving traffic, I chose to resign from my job from hell. 15 months later, this past January, I started a new job. Better pay, better everything, and I no longer want to drink bleach! Something will come through for you. Hang on. -
Google it. They have a site on their product. I bought some yesterday but haven't tried it yet. I've been using lactaid, but may switch to this due to the higher protein content.

You know what to do, so get to it. NOW!!!!!

I feel unsupported... Can I do this by myself?
finediva replied to noorjenna's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Based on the age of your children, I'm at least 15yrs older than you. No one knows of my surgery. I was alone in the hospital and came home the following day. I did careful prep for supplies before surgery and recovered at home by myself. Of course I didn't have infants and toddlers to care for. I'm not going to address the non supportive spouse issue. I will say that baring any complications, it is possible to care for yourself after this procedure. -
Celebrating a death tonight
finediva replied to Mrs. Reid's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow! I felt like I was right there with you. But what I was really feeling was the truth in your well written words. The strong emotions your post stirred up was unexpected. Thanks. -
How often do you weigh yourself?
finediva replied to Jazmundo's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Amen! It IS about the number on the scale, at least for me it is. I was 230lbs and getting bigger each year, but had no medical issues. I'm sure they were ccoming though. The scale told me every day I was getting bigger. So, I had the surgery. Now my scale tells me I getting smaller. And if I start going back in the wrong ddirection, I want to know before I've back tracked to 20 plus pounds. Like coffee, my scale makes me very happy!
