  1. @LipstickLady. I hear all that you've saying! I used to be a sweat queen. ...now I can't seem to stay warm. The food thing...unless I graze most of the day, I will not get enough food in me. But I so totally agree...the wonderful new, so much healthier lifestyle I am enjoying is the best reward of all. My big burden......my loud growling stomach. And the instant burp fest that happens as soon as I drink. I do suspect that I'm maybe drinking too fast. It's just that most ttimes I forget that I'm sleeved! So, yes, I agree with you. I'll take Miss.Growly-Burpy SLEEVE and her dislike of almost nothing!

    Low Cal Snacks for Travel

@Indieflickers. I carry an insulated lunch bag daily. I freeze a water bottle every night and add it to the bag so everything stays nice and cold all day long. 15 months after surgery I had to figure out how to eat and be on the road all day long. It works for me. I will not go to bed until my food is ready for the next day. Also, I never have to stop for food. I just open my lunch bag and munch along! Sometimes I eat everything and sometimes food comes back, but the security of having it is so comforting.

    Low Cal Snacks for Travel

Cheese, nuts, blueberries, boiled eggs and pieces of grilled chicken. All portioned in small baggies. Yeah, I'm gone from my house 12 to 13 hours daily. I'm am expert at this. You can even put a salad in a baggie and it all gets tossed in the trash when you're done!
  4. @@Snowbutterfly You are welcomed! Just stay focused on that goal.

You find him irritating and boring AND he fell on you twice. Seriously,
  6. Great rant! So, just exhale and keep moving forward. And no, it's not because you are obese. How could that be? It's what they do....work with obese people. This journey is a long tough one. There were / are times I wish with all my heart I didn't have to do this to be healthy. But I'm so great full that the opportunity exist. I wish you continued strength on your journey. Good news......it gets so much better!

    Food funerals

Yeah, don't do it. You're just going to gain weight that you're going to have to turn around and lose. I had a mini food funeral. By the second day I snapped out and had gained three pounds. Two months after my surgery I was depressed and crying because I was at a stall and the weigh wasn't coming off fast enough. See where I'm going with this?

    no support

Hello, 14 months later and no one knows of my surgery. Alone on the day I did it, and alone on the journey as I lost the weight. You can so do this. Just do it for YOU! Not trying to break up your marriage, but do it for you. ...with or without the support. Best to you.

    Are You More Forgetful?

I also seem to lose my train of thought at times. I'm so happy that my car knows the way home!

    Days like Today

All what you said is why I leave home with ALL my food for the entire day. Life is crazy and stressful. Sometimes I find myself grazing all day long. I pack my small cooler every morning. Sometimes I eat it all and sometimes I don't, but I'm prepared. Stay focused on you, and stay happy.

    Moody Mornings

Did you give up coffee? I started my days with coffee. .strong coffee laced with sugar. Giving that up caused major depression and low energy until my system adjusted. About 6 months after surgery I eased my way back to regular coffee. I just missed it. No suger.....never sugar again, but I love having my coffee back in my morning.
  17. @OKCPirate. Hahahahahahaha....tears are running down my face. Too funny!!!!!

    I wish I knew.....

I wish I knew and believed that I would reach my goal and continue to lose before my one year anniversary. I wish I knew that when I was crying and frustrated at three month post surgery, because I had not lost a single pound in 30 days.

Madly in love but holding back info

For me it's the way I eat now. I would have to explain it. While I'm very comfortable and happy with how much I'm able to eat at one time, I'm well aware that to others. ..I eat like a toddler. I feel I would have to tell a man I'm seriously interested in, and I mean seriously, that I had surgery.
  20. The cabbage soup diet. Really? Stupidity at it's best!!!

    Am I really that vain?

Personally, I wish people wouldn't comment on my weigh loss. It makes me uncomfortable, just like being called fat made me uncomfortable. I was so thrilled when I started a new job and no one knew me as an obese person. Clean slate. Unfortunately that didn't last very long as I've lost 26lbs since being there. Now several times a week I'm asked about my weight, where is the food going, why don't I ever order Chinese on Fridays, eat the bagels on Mondays, or keep a candy bowl on my desk like everyone else. Simply exhausting.
  22. Unfortunately, my darling little sleeve LOVES all and everything. The good news is I very rarely eat out, and I have the most fabulous restriction. At almost a year out I've gotten so used to my sleeve. I stop eating when I get THAT feeling and eat only when I'm hungry. Sometimes that's many times a day, sometimes it's a few times a day. The freedom to just live and eat is awesome. I was blessed to reach my personal goal and without consciously tying I continue to lose.
