Sounds like everyone is doing well! I was having the Plication but I changed my mind and decided to to just go ahead and get sleeved! My surgery is still on the 23rd. Pre op is going well, however, last night I blew it and had some stir fry... I felt terribly guilty after I came out of my coma! Lol I have lost 9 lbs so I'm happy for that.

Your going to be fine. It will help with your health issues. I need to lose 50 as well. It's keeping it off that's the hardest thing to do that's why we need this!

One of my nurse friends that has the sleeve said dumping was where your pancreas dumps a bunch of insulin into your system and your really sick for about an hour . I hear once you have been through it you will never eat what made you dump again. She ate some chocolate.

Hey everyone!! All of you that are having surgery this week, your in my prayers. I am on my third day of pre op diet. So far I am doing great, keeping myself extremely busy so I'm not really even thinking about it. In fact, yesterday I only had two shakes and two servings of green veggies with nothing on them. I'm counting my blessings that I have not had any headaches so far. I have been keeping myself well hydrated and I think that's been the key. I've lost 7 lbs so far. My surgery is on the 23rd. My one problem is my Dr wants us to strengthen our lungs two weeks pre op as well and I'm not having any luck finding a spirometer. I guess I'm going to call one of my nurse friends and see if she can get me one from the hospital... I hope everyone has a successful pre op diet day!!!

CandyPants81, I chose the Plication because the patient coordinator said that would probably be the best choice since I just needed to lose 50 lbs. the trouble I always have is keeping it off and now I have just been diagnosed with Diebetes. Like I said both sisters have bands and I'm not impressed with the outcome. I was going to do the sleeve till I talked to the coordinator. I did some reading and it seemed less invasive so I just chose that one. I'm actually still a bit on the fence about it. I'm seeing Dr Ariel Ortiz

Plication has been around for about 10 years. The research I have studied has been very positive. It is not practiced in the states but as I understand it is getting ready to be approved and will then be practiced here in the states. I chose the Plication because it is less invasive and safer than having part of your stomach removed. It's proven to be just as effective on weight loss with less complications than the sleeve and lap band. With 50 lbs to lose and keep off the Plication was the best recommended procedure for me by my surgeon Dr Ariel Ortiz and he is one of the best in gastric surgery, therefore, I feel perfectly as ease with my decision.

I am also having the Plication with Dr O. Mine is on the 23rd of July. I ordered the Vitaleph. Will post the values on when I get a chance today.

I don't eat eggs... So I pan sear Canadian bacon, smear a tsp of light cream cheese and top with a slice of tomato. Or sauté some fresh spinach with some soft tofu throw in some chopped turkey bacon and mild rotel tomatoes. Very tasty!

I was a smoker for years, then I bought an e cig. Used it for one week. Put it down and walked away... No smoking of any kind for 2 years. I knew I had to do it before I could loose weight, have surgery or just feel good enough to exercise. Best thing I ever did for myself, I hope my Plication will be the next best thing I will ever do for myself. I have 50 lbs to lose and I worry about the skin too. Especially in my face. I don't want to look old. I'll be 50 in September. I wish there was a bariactric dating site... Lol Then whoever you date understands and you can support each other.

Mike you shouldn't use vapor because it still has nicotine which dehydrates your skin. Also it cause slower healing. Just google what nicotine does to ones body. No good...

Mike I had a boyfriend with a big belly once and he lost a ton of weight, all the fat down there goes away and his little friend was no longer so little anymore... Get my drift! Lol You will soon be proud of it, trust me! And so what if you have some loose skin, that's what plastic surgery is for!

Yes, I had smart lipo and paid a lot of money for it... Was very disappointed, it didn't last. I had it done by a "good Dr.". My plastic surgeon said it's a waste of money, nothing is as good as the real thing! Meaning the real liposuction is the only one that has the best results. I also did Zorona treatments, that was expensive and didn't last either.
