I am feeling like a yo-yo. I just got a call from the surgeon, himself. Because I am still on steroids (at the end of the tapering dose), he wants to postpone the surgery 3-6 weeks to avoid risk of leakage at the staple/stitch sites and not increase the risk of infection. So they'll call today with another date. So Aug was postponed until Sept, Sept will postponed until Oct or Nov. I am ok. Still singing Que Sera, Sera. It all happens for a reason.
For everybody else having surgery this month, best wishes for complete healing!

It will all be ok. Be glad you have a good & careful surgeon! I may be in the same boat on Wednesday. That's always the risk with revision! My prayers are with you for a quick removal recovery. Time to focus on your basics! You can DO this! ????

7 carbs and 300 calories. 17oz. Just had one and it took new forever to get it down. Good flavor but lots of liquid.< /p>
5 carbs is the max I was given! Maybe if I only did 8.5 oz at a time...

Hi Polly and welcome! I am scheduled for revision surgery on the 17th, if my asthma clears up. I had lapband 7 yrs ago but had many yrs of aspiration pneumonia which took a long time to figure out. I was too afraid to have bypass 7 yrs ago and am now ready to get the pneumonias gone! I too gained back a lot of weight and have a failed replacement knee. My friends call me Peg Leg because if the noise with the cane! I hope that your appt with the PA goes well. I will keep u in my thoughts. I've been there and know it's scary. You'll be fine! You have all of us behind you!

I started my journey toward gastric bypass about a year ago. Started at 260#, diabetic, hypertensive, inactive. I am now five weeks out from surgery and am wondering if I should go ahead with it. I have lost 40 pounds on my own in four months, with another 70 to lose. My concern is that I am 68 years old and wondering if the surgical risk at that age is out weighed by the weight loss benefits. I'm thinking of putting the surgery off for six months to see what else I can accomplish with the new tools I've learned in the last four months. I have my pre-op appointmentt next week and plan to talk it out with my surgeon, but want some input from the pros - you guys. Thanks.

You will great whichever you choose. I am 64.5 and surgery is Wed, revision from Lapband to bypass. Talk with your surgeon. One of my dear friends had it done at 68 or so 5 yrs ago and is a while new woman!!
