My Hair :(
Make sure you get all your protein in to. I hear too much Vitamin A can make you lose hair. I am lucky so far out six months and my hair is not Falling out. I take biotin and use nioxin shampoo. Take my vitamins and make sure I get my protein in. I am scared to death to lose my hair. Mine seems to be getting thicker. Just goes to show you that my diet must have really stunk before surgery. I am sure I wasn't getting enough protein ore surgery. As it seems I was losing more hair before surgery. As I pretty much lived in sweet stuff that I baked. Cakes, cookies, pies, bread. I look back now and think.....I was eating myself to death!

Me too! I am trying to adjust myself to thinking that NOT losing is ok. I hate it when I weigh in the morning and don't lose at least .1 pounds.

ALRIGHT ALL YOU LITTLE SKINNY MINNIES
Oh here is a subject that I love. New York and Company could make me go broke along with H & M. I now own 3 pair of Miss Me jeans. I truly think I am addicted. Never walked into a buckle store before WLS. I own at least 10 winter coats. Lol. Don't get me started on cute boots and shoes. Inhave clothes I haven't taken the tags off from and I just keep shopping and my husband.....he is worse than me. He thińks he is dressing up a Barbie doll. It's sooooo much fun' not to mention expensive. There are so many other stores out there too that I didn't mention. They are all fun. And to accessorize charming Charlie's is fun too.

Made goal....now to maintain. Before and after pics.
Well it's been a long, fun, hard road. I have to say during my weight loss stage it was exciting to see the scale go down every single day. I was one of the lucky ones who did not encounter any stalls. God only gives us what we can handle.....I beleive He knew I wasn't strong enough for that. I have been blessed not to lose my hair. The only rough road I had was the first two weeks post op and taking my medications in liquid form. I have to say honestly I would love to keep losing it was that exciting. Now my road begins to learn how to maintain. I am scared to death of gaining anything back although my NUT tells me that a 5pound plus or minus loss or gain is normal. I don't have many before pics I was too embarrassed to have my picture taken. But here is at least one before and a few after. Good luck to all on this WLS I wish you all the best. Surgery date 8/25/2014. HW 289. SW 229 GW 150. Followed my program every step of the way. I never cheated.

Anyone develop hypothyroidism after surgery?
I had the VSG so I would not have health problems. My Bmi was high but I really didn't have any health problems when I had the surgery. I had stage 1 breast cancer about 8 years ago which had not spread and was treated with just surgery, no chemo, no radiation. Been healthy since then other than my weight. I have a family history so heart disease and diabetes, so I chose to have the surgery. I had some blood work done and my thyroid is low. My doctor says my body is still trying to adjust to the weight loss so she is going to recheck the labs in three months. I am tired and my BP drops low and I feel dizzy and have actually passed out. I don't even know what causes hypothyroidism. All I do know is I had this surgery to NOT become sick.

Baking mistake! Aaahhh
I used to love to bake, well I still love to bake. Just don't do it as often. I made banana bread yesterday but I don't like the batter so no problem there. I have not made chocolate chip cookies lately, that dough would be tough to resist.

How long did your hair fall out?
I am 6 months out (on Feb 25th) so far so good no hair loss.

hungry every 2-3 hours post op.
My problem is my meals are so small I can't tell what should really be a snack and what should be a meal.

Any Northern Michigan Sleeves?
I had mine done in Saginaw. Not northern Michigan more like mid Michigan. I am 5'9 and met my goal five months post op. I love my sleeve. It has changed my life. Good luck to you ladies, hopefully these pics will inspire you. And my wedding dress is too big!!!

Sadness & the sleeve
I take Xanax and Wellbutrin too. I have not noticed a huge difference post surgery. Those and my vitamins are the only Meds I take. You are not alone. Mostly my job causes me the anxiety and depression. I truly am convinced after I retire I will no longer need either of them.

HELP! PROTRIN SHAKES NAUSEATE ME
I am six months out and still rely on protein shakes. I drank them before surgery, however right after my surgery they made me nauseous. After about three weeks i tolerated them again and now i love them again. Without them I would never ever meet my protein goals. I use Unjury chocolate splendor and I also use flavorless Genepro. You can add Genepro to anything and not taste it. I will probably have to rely on protein shakes the rest of my life in order to obtain the required amount of protein.

So confused
Honesty is always the best policy. If you can't think of how to say it just say. I have to talk to you about something and tell him that you hope it doesn't change things between you because you really care for him and tell him you want the relationship to be based on honesty and just say it. You will feel much better about it. And if he cares for you he will not have an issue with it. Good luck. Keep us posted. BTW if he cares about you he won't give a Crap.

Having the poop issues again
I have issues too. Stool softeners don't work. I only go about once every week to a week and a half.

"Before and After Pictures"
I don't have many before pictures either....but I did find this one. The after picture I am about 2 pounds to my goal.

Popcorn
Popcorn is a treat for me. Sometimes I air pop it and others I have the skinny girl popcorn. 100 calories for 4 cups, which I cannot eat all of it.

Did anyone develop low blood sugar? I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU.

How did you determine your "goal weight"?
I set several goals. Then when I reached that decided if I wanted to go on. I am 5'9 my first goal was 170' then it went to 160 now it is 149 and I currently weigh 150.4. So I am 1.4 pounds to my ULTIMATE goal. I found it easier and more rewarding to set several smaller goals and re evaluate at each goal. My frame will never hold anything lower than 149.

Passed out cold last night.
Thinkingthinner1109 replied to Thinkingthinner1109's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&AThank you. I went to the doctor today. And yes after eating my blood sugar was 79. Lol she showed me and I said oh that's good she said NOOO it's not. She is pretty sure my blood sugar is dropping. She gave me some suggestions and also told me to get a blood pressure monitor to check that. So I will be very careful to eat more complex carbohydrates. She told me to eat something just before I go to bed. And I will have to check into one of those blood sugar monitors. Hope I can find one for 20 bucks. I really think I need to be checking on it frequently.
