  1. Today is better than yesterday and tomorrow will be better than today!
  2. Moonlitestarbright. I didn't start a new thread I commented on someone else's thread. So I am a bit confused. Like I said all is good. Thank you,
  3. Alyce you are sooooooo right, either I didn't read the right posts pre op or I chose to not pay any attention to them....thinking oh that don't apply to me! Lol. I got a wake up call......it all applied. I am 7 days post op, having major problems getting fluid in and I hate the protein options I have.
  4. Funny I am one week out and was thinking about going to SAMs club. I may want to rethink that! Lol
  5. Didn't really mean to make this a debate sorry, it is all in the way we read things. It's all good. We al perceive things differently.
  6. I too have had a hard journey and I am only one week out, I have had numerous issues.
  7. I gained weight the week of my surgery which was last Monday. I refuse to get back on the scale at this point. My husband just made me a scrambled egg and I was able to eat half of it before I could s,tart to feel the restriction so I quit. But. OMGOSH did that ever taste good after a week of water and protein drinks.
  8. Karen my surgery was the 25th. I haven't tried any food yet. But I am about to. Lol. I can't take those protein shakes and I kinda feel like I can start. Today would have been my one week post op but because of the holiday I can't go in until Wednesday. I wonder what I did to myself too. It's very scary and since I didn't have any co morbidities (yet) but I am sure I was on my way. I kinda wished I would have continued my quest to lose on my own. Oh well that is over now and it is what it is. So I am going to do what I have to, to get through this part. It is very depressing though. I feel you. Good luck to you and if you ever want to pm me I will be here for ya.
  9. I also despise crushing pills. I should have tried doing it before surgery. It could have been a game changer for me it is sooooo bad. I take a teaspoon of protein drink and put the crushed pills on top not on the spoon first because when you slide the protein drink off the spoon into your mouth you can taste it. Not so much if the pill is on the top. Hold your breath and swallow the spoonful. It's disgusting and don't use a tablespoon it is too much to swallow at one time. This is the only way I can take mine and I still dread it!
  10. I am not in the puréed stage yet that will probably begin next week. I agree puréed anything sounds disgusting to me. I don't know what I was thinking when I has this surgery. I have so many regrets. It's something new everyday. Pain, headaches, hating protein, can't get fluids in, gas, nausea, more pain. I hope this gets better sooner rather than later.
  11. Snow kitten where do you find the protein tubes?
  12. Thanks sunflower child I can stomach jello, do u think I could make it according to the instructions and add the unflavored Unjury?
  13. Wiightlosshippie...yes the dilaudid did that to me too. Itched like crazy they had to give me Benadryl in my IV to stop the itch.
  14. I am post op day 6 and I have second guessed myself every single day. I too have "dimples" in my skin and YES they hurt like heck! They gave me a binder and since I have been wearing that it has helped. But the burning at the incision site was about unbearable. Might as well have taken a lit match and stuck it through my stomach. I am not getting in all my fluids let alone the protein. Tomorrow will be one week and since it is the Holdiay I will not be able to advance to the next stage until Wednesday, however since I am not having any nausea I may just try a scrambled egg tomorrow to try to get in some protein. I am scared and at a loss of what to do.
  15. I have unflavored unjury, but I don't know what to put it in. I thought tomorrow morning I would try putting it in my water and Pray that I cannot taste it. I used to like the unjury vanilla and chocolate splendor. I just can't take it anymore. I was drinking protein shakes since May 31st and lost 60 pounds but all do a sudden they just disgust me. I don't like broth or cream soups so I am literally lost.
  16. Amandaall27. We are in the same boat. I cannot stomach the protein anymore and I am getting worried. I am 6 days post op.
  17. My gas pain never really started until about day 3. I still had some this morning and my surgery was on August 25. It is slowly going away. But I never had it in my chest, mine was in my shoulder.
  18. I am one week post op tomorrow. I cannot stomach the protein anymore. I have tried everything, searched the web for recipes tried several different ones and all I can do is gag. I cannot get enough liquids in either. I cannot go to the doctor until Wednesday since tomorrow is a Holiday. I do not know what to do. I am feeling hungry because I can't get anything to go in. I am not nauseous, I just can't stand the taste anymore. I am on full liquids right now. My doctor requires 1-2 week full liquids before purée and I will not do much better on that because I don't eat anything that is mixed......soups, etc. just can't and never have been able to stomach that. I figured I would be ok once I could have real protein such as eggs, oatmeal, etc but right now I am very worried. Does anyone have any suggestions?
  19. Dabberdoo.... The headaches for me are excruciating. I almost went into ER twice. The only thing I can take at this point is the liquid pain med that they sent me home with. I have never had headaches in my life either. I do not know what triggered the headaches and neither does my doctor. Hope they subside because they are debilitating. I hope your recovery goes well.????
  20. Well you can't tell that a piece of your stomach is gone by the way you feel. If you want me to be honest though. The pain hurt like heck for me. The gas wasn't too bad but once it started to pass I felt much better. I have experienced horrible migraine headaches and very disturbing vivid dreams which are continuing 6 days post op. Crushing medications is absolutely horrible. I have burning at my incision sites. When people, say your tastes change they are right. Used to love my unjury protein shakes now I have to gag them down. I was sent home with a binder that has helped tremendously. And compression stockings for the prevention of blood clots. Oh and for the first time I got in the scale yesterday and had GAINED 6 pounds. I was severely depressed but have been assured on this forum that it will go away quickly. I have not cheated Ion this diet and I have been walking faithfully. I have been on a diet and exercise regimen since May 32st and had lost 60 pounds. The scale has never moved up in that time until I got my surgery, so you can see why I was so discouraged. Today is Sunday I only have a slight headache today. I can finally lay on my side. So I am hoping today is the turning point. It has been a LONG few days. Very emotional. Like I said I don't want to be a downer but I wish I would have seen more posts like this that were honest. I am hoping for a better recovery for you brut mine has been rough.
  21. I had my surgery on 8/25. I am feeling the same way. Lots of pain and huge regrets. I am hungry but don't want shakes, I am sick to death of them. I have been droning two shales a day since May 31st. I have lost 60 pounds and then gained 7 pounds post op. I wish I would have listened to my husband. I didn't have any co morbidities, but they do run in my family so I was afraid if I stayed on the road I was on I would eventually end up with something. I am just beside myself mentally. I hope things change since this surgery is not reversible. Maybe when I get to soft foods things will be better. I am hoping and praying things are better. The worst part is crushing medicine. I gag every single time!
  22. I also had burning when I tried to straighten up, I was told my the nurse at the doctors office that it was normal and to continue to walk and it's gets better. I had my surgery 8/25, and although it's a little better I still cannot stand completely straight up.
  23. I cannot get all the fluids in or all the protein in at this point either. I am doing the best I can. Called my doctor this morning because I was waking up with migraine headaches and very very vivid dreams that I have NEVER had before in my life. The don't know why I am having headaches and told me to alternate the Tylenol with Aleve to make it through the weekend until he sees me next week.
