  1. Welcome! And good luck with your journey.
  2. I wouldn't have been able to go back in a week. I took two weeks off and was healed well enough to return to my desk job.
  3. I wasn't very regular before surgery and since surgery it's even worse. I don't feel all bound up. I go about once a week and I am three weeks post op. When I do go it's very little. My nutritionists said I don't need to add any fiber supplements at this time. She said to contact her if I start to feel like I have to go but can't. So I am grateful at least I don't have to run to the rest room.
  4. All of those stories are mine to the T. I am three weeks post op tomorrow. It took me about 10 days to snap out of it. I had a reaction to the pain meds and the anesthia. I couldn't crush my pills and take them. That was absolutely gross. I hurt so bad. I cried. If I could have went back and undo what I did I would have. I couldn't sleep I couldn't drink the portion drinks were gross! Well three weeks later, I am better, all healed up, back to walking about 4 miles a day, still cannot strength train. I can eat some soft foods. I skipped puréed stage, sorry I told my NUT. I cannot grind food up in a blender that is just. So things do get better. And I used to read these threads all day and I used to hate it when people would say....it will get better. I am not a patient person. Lol. So I stay off the scale. Have no idea how much I have lost but I can tell I have lost lots of inches. Because I got on the scale 4 days post op and gained 7 pounds. I was pissed. So I out the scale away and will only weigh when I go to the doctor for a while. No sense getting depressed if I hit a stall. Good luck to you all it's a rough road at first for some of us.
  5. I had pain for about 5 days, but I had aching and soreness for a good 10-11 days. The bloating subsided a little each day. I couldn't really give you a time frame on that. But I will be three weeks post op on Monday and I am feeling really well. The first 10'days were rough for me. Hope you get well very quickly!
  6. Not going to sugar coat it the first days suck! Really suck. And I used to hate these words........it will get better. Lol. But it will and you will go on here and probably type those exact words. Lol. Hang in there.
  7. Well I dropped things all the time post op, I have a runny nose, I am off balance sometimes too.
  8. I am no wimp either, went through a double mastectomy and a year of reconstructive surgery for implants. I literally thought this was going to be a walk in the park. Not so much the first week. I had two weeks off and went back to a desk job. I do have times of soreness now but I would not call it pain. If I sit too long at my desk I feel it. I did not have any gas pain at all. I have had no nausea or throwing up, I practiced hard before surgery and pushing my plate away when I was satisfied not full. I am on soft foods now and I am happy I am sleeved. However if you would have asked me 10 days post op I would have said don't do it. But it does get better! I was sleeved on August 25.
  9. I didn't have diarrhea I had quite the opposite.
  10. Nina the liquids will more than likely not fill you up, it didn't for me. Best of luck to you!
  11. I didn't get a full feeling on liquids either. It took me longer to drink the protein shakes but that is all. I started eating eggs I can only eat about 3/4 of a scrambled egg and almost two eggs white. I can eat about 3-4 ounces of a piece of fish. I don't eat until I am full I eat until I am satisfied because I do not want that pain feeling in my stomach and I definelty do not sent to puke. I have to stay off the scale. I don't like to watch it. It is depressing. I lost 56 pounds since May 31 to August 25th. I have lost about 12 pounds since surgery and I know it doesn't just fall off but for what I am eating and how much I exercise it should be coming off faster. I am losing inches although I did not do ore surgery measurements I can tell by the way my clothes fit (or don't fit). But I want to drop on the scale too! It's just depressing. I got on my Wii to weigh this morning and I have lost 16.5 pounds in 27 days, so that isn't bad but still brings me down.
  12. I had mine removed 8 years ago due to breast cancer. I went through reconstruction with expanders and then after a year of stretching my chest muscle with the expanders they put in the implants. As I lost weight mine seem to be getting bigger. Thank The Lord they do not sag. They are holding pretty steady in their place. I guess God knew what he was doing going to save me a truck load of money not needing a lift or augmentation. I guess the dreaded breast ca was a blessing in disguise. See everything happens for a reason!
  13. Thank you mommymeghan, I am definitely weighing my options. I am so close to being able to retire financially that it is hard to change jobs at this point. Starting over with little to no vacation and definitely lower on the pay scale we have decided to try and live off my husbands income and put all of mine into savings for a while. Just to see if that can work for us. There may be a possibility of going part time or working somewhere else part time. Sooooo today the manager decides to being in apple cider donuts from a local orchard. Now she never brings in anything for the employees but today was the day she did that. And I just didn't say anything because a reaction was what she wanted. So then she decides that the employees who wanted to were going to start a diet competition where everyone would put in 5 dollars and whoever loses the most weight each week wins the Pot. Lol. Only one person asked me to join the rest think I have an unfair advantage. Lol the last time they did this people would gain back what they lost the previous week and nobody ever actually lost weight. I don't want to be included anyway. Lol. Because even before my surgery I lost 56 pounds, so I will sit back and watch them all! Goodness how petty. Oh as they all ate the apple cider donuts. Can't wait to see what they do next week to try and bring me down. It's always something there. Hopefully when they get no reaction they will back off because I am losing my weight and fully intend on keeping it off.
  14. Walk, walk walk, right away. My Dr says I have to wait 4-6 PO for strength training. I am 2 weeks post op and I walk about 4 miles. Before surgery I was walking between 8 and 10 miles a day. Slow but sure I will get back there. Good luck.
  15. Ugh sitting at the doctor after two days back at work with work the size of Mt Everest waiting for me.
  16. Carolinagirl....I am so very sorry about the passing of your mom. I cannot imagine! Xoxoxo Hugs.
  17. I am two weeks and 2 days post op. Started back to work on Monday. I am feeling pretty good, I make it through the day not hurting and am getting in protein and fluids. Monday night I noticed a lump under one of my incisions. It is quite palpable. I have an appt with my surgeon this morning for him to look at it. But I was wondering if any one else had this? It is not flat feels more like a chestnut. Kinda roundish feeling.
  18. Waitingtoexhale, our company does not quality for FMLA they would have to employ greater than 50 employees and we have probably 45.
  19. Thanks for the encouraging words!
  20. Thank you all so very much. I work for a physicians office as a biller. The office is just a little too small for FMLA and no short term disability is offered. The words of encouragement from all of you is so much appreciated. Yes it's as bad as I thought it would be but it is what it is. And I hate that saying. Lol. Again thanks for the responses I will do the best I can to meet both my weight goal and my personal goals of being able to retire! Hugs!
  21. Well today I have to go back to work. My job is stressful and my manager is verbally abusive, sh would just say that is the way she is but honestly it's hurtful....she told a new employee that all the employees there are "b*****s". I have been there 12 years and getting close to being able not to have to work there anymore but right now I need the money. I am not a b***h. There is so much favoritism, I work very hard, I know how to do my job and I do not need direction. I am not looking forward to going back I am sure there is going to be so many negative comments and it bothers me personally. I try to live my life as a good person, I do my best to not out down other people. I am not perfect. However, I have struggled with domestic abuse, verbal abuse along with many other issues. My employer is not sympathetic. I am sure no one did any of my work while I was gone, it will all just be expected to be caught up when I return. So I am sure my desk is full. And trying to deal with my new way of living and eating this is going to be a very challenging day/week. I am about in tears, I don't want to go. I have been tired and emotional since my surgery and I just don't know that I am ready for this. I would take more time off but I am only allowed 10 days off without pay, before I left I asked my manager, what if I am unable to come back in two weeks? Maybe due to complications or whatever my doctor says. The ONLY answer I got was I don't know the answer to that it has never happened. I said I would like to know the answer thinking she would ask the doctors I work for but no, I worried about it the entire time I was off. The first week after surgery I had a lot of complications so I wasn't sure I would even be able to go back today which has caused me a lot of stress.
